BUMPZILLA
Ok so I said I'd make a summary of the story and would introduce the main characters, so there you go:
The story takes place in a medieval world where mankind is threatened by all sorts of agressive creatures. 400 years ago, the ancient world was completely annihilated by a goddess created by men, called Anthrax, who nearly wiped away mankind. But the monster was stopped by a mythical being called the Dragon Knight, and its remains sealed deep into the ground, protected by 4 seals.
4 centuries later, a rebellious army led by the 4 Emperors, powerful warriors and magicians lead an attack against the kingdoms protecting the seals in order to revive Anthrax. They hope to use it to create a perfect world, free of wars and conflicts. Only one kingdom resists, and is about to fall before the king decides to free Dark Schneider, the legendary wizard who tried to take over the world 14 years ago but was stopped and sealed into the body of a young boy.
The characters:
Dark Schneider: aka DS, the "hero", more like the main character of the manga. He actually has none of the qualities you expect to find in a hero, as he's a lecherous, ultraviolent, sadistic, megalomaniac asshole. An immortal 400 years old wizard with the power to liquify his opponents and create small nuclear explosions, he's the definition of cheapness, one of the greatest manga characters ever and the series number one assett.
Lucie Lenlen: a young boy whose body served as a prison for DS's soul when the wizard tried to take over the world and was defeated by the Dragon Knight 14 years ago. He's an idiotic, incredibly naive, simpering kid, and his personality actually influenced DS's after 14 years spend in the same body.
Yoko: At the beginning of the manga she's a 14 year old apprentice cleric. She grew up with Lucie and as such is the only person DS fears. She's the only one able to lift the spell imprisoning DS into Lucie's body, and the only one who can knock some sense into the wizard when he goes overboard (which is almost always the case).
Jo: Yoko's father and the high priest who sealed DS's soul into Lucie's body 14 years ago. There's not much to say about him, he's supposedly extremely powerful but doesn't do much in the story.
Gara: One of the 4 Emperors, DS's subordinates who helped him during the Golems War. He's supposed to be a ninja, though he's not exactly sneaky; he's 2m40 tall, wields a 2m long katana and throws truck wheel sized shurikens. He's an illiterate retard and a bit of a pervert, but not a bad guy. He's DS first opponent before rejoining him.
Archess Ney: One of the 4 Emperors. She's an 100 year old half human, half dark elf warrior/magician but looks like a young woman. She was rejected by both races as a child and ended up being adopted by DS. Even though she's supposed to be his daughter she's actually his lover, and has a strange hate/love relationship with him. She has perfect mastery of the air elemental magic and wields the raijinken, the cursed sword of thunder.
Kal Su: One of the 4 Emperors. He's a typical bishonen who was actually created to appeal to female audiences. At such, he has a particularly sobbing backstory. He's a wizard whose power rivals DS's, though if DS spells are mainly fire based Kal Su draws his strenght from water/ice magic. Basically he's Bastard!!'s Sasuke/Vegeta. Nothing to see here.
Avygeil: One of the 4 Emperors. Dark priest of Anthrax, the ancient Goddess of Destruction. He's the creepiest character, most of the time completely impassive but showing glimpses of sadism and overall complete madness. He has unhuman physical strenght and a mastery of necromancy and death related spells in addition to classical priests defensive magic.
Larz Ul: The hero who defeated Dark Schneider 14 years ago and ended the Golems War. He somehow has the spiritual strenght of a dragon and therefore is the most powerful human character of the series after DS. He became the Dragon Knight to stop DS but was reborn in the form of a small baby dragon. He's the closest thing to your typical shonen hero ala Luffy (though smarter) and mainly acts as comic relief during the first part of the manga, trying to be DS's moral conscience but litterally getting his ass kicked by the wizard for his troubles.
