If it's in my town opening weekend, I'm going on Friday, the first showing of the day. So I can have something to enjoy before going home and watch Smackdown. ^_^. I agree the only thing I enjoyed from the 3rd movie the entire Casey teaching the japanesse dudes how to play hockey. xD
TMNT the 3-d movie!
-
-
I only liked the 2nd and 3 rd movie(only because i never seen the 1st film)
also OT: why isnt there 5 turtles? it started with 4 then 5 then back to 4 again..( for those who watched every series invcluding the live series..they'll know who i am talking about XD)
-
You mean that creepy turtle girl with breasts? Yeah the original creators like to pretend that she never existed.
-
I liked the 3rd movie. :(

There are four turtles. The fifth female turtle was from that retarded live-action show Next Mutation. Pretty much everyone has forgetten that travesty happened and rightfully so.
I'm pretty stoked for the new movie though. I might pick up the Casey and Splinter figures after I go see it to round out the four turtles I bought a few weeks back.
-
My mom picked up the Karai figure for my brithday yesterday. Even though my brithday isn't until in May. If I find it this weekend, I might pick up the April figure. Since I never had April figure.
-
I'm…. not sure how to feel about this. I was a huge, HUGE Turle fan back in the 90s (thanks to the first movie) and while I watched the first cartoon religiously, I loved loved loved the Eastman and Laird comics. They were really tough for me to find outside of compilations, and even those were hard to find after the first four, so my interest waned after a few years and I started outgrowing the increasing corniness of the cartoon show. I never watched the live-action series and I never wanted to, it just looked painful to me (granted, I was graduating from high school the year it aired, so it wasn't aimed at me), but I did notice when the new cartoon series started. Yeah, it was closer to the original comics by quite a lot and there were aspects of it I really enjoyed, I couldn't shake the feeling they were trying too hard with it and I lost interest in that too. Now with this, I'll admit, I'm very curious and I'll most likely see it in theaters, but I'm really not sure how I feel about it. Granted, pretty much all I've seen are the previews on TV and a few clips, but my reaction tends to range from "that looks cool" to "oh. Well I guess they tried". I dunno, I might like it more than I expect. The voice acting seems decent from what I've heard, I'm happy Casey's in it, Leo vs Raph was always a dynamic I enjoyed, and it looks like it might be fun if nothing else. Not expecting state of the art CG or even a whole lot of plot. I'm curious to hear what other people think of it after they see it.
-
Woot, I just found out that the movie theather in my town will have the movie in town tomarrow. Woot!!! The first showing of the movie is at 4:00 pm. I'm so going to that showing. ^_^.
-

-
Man I still can't belvile we are only half a day way until the movie comes out. And I'm officially bringing my new TMNT banners and stuff of Karai. ^_^.
-
I just got back from a private screening of the new TMNT movie! It was amazing, regardless of the lack of screentime given to Don & Mikey. Raph was fuckin' pro though! His fight with Leo was brilliantly directed/animated!
-
aaargh… >< the movie won´t come out in Spain until freakin´august! I can´t wait that much!

-
Damn, thats good to hear. Only 5 hours away until the first showing in theather in my town, and I'll be there for it. ^_^.
-
Looking though some yahoo fan reviews. Most gave it an A or a B so looks like a good from the fans PoV.
Heh worst review was a C from a guy who only saw the trailer.
Really looking forward to this. With luck I can see it monday or so.
-
Thats good to hear that the movie is going to be good. Because I can't wait to see it in almost 2 hours and 20 minutes.
-
Just came back from seeing the movie and it was great well I enjoyed it. haha
I'll write more later since im writing this on a Sidekick.
-
Only a half hour a way until I'll be heading down to the theather to go see the movie. ^^. I can't wait much longer. ^^.
-
I think I'll go see it today.
But the 3rd movie wasn't very good at all. What did ancient Japan and a guy who belongs in a movie about kings and knights have to do with the turtles? nothing. They also looked horrible, like puppets. I don't expect the latest Disney stuff here but at least they could have tried to make the suits realistic and not click up and down to talk. And the jokes were corny.
I'm hoping this 3D one is really good, since the TMNT have been sorta dead for the past few years, excluding piece of garbage 4Kids shows.
-
Dude it was made in the 93 and everything was corny back than XP Yea and in each movie it seemed that the suits were worse and worse. But is a Movie about Mutated Turtles anything can happend really. But hey thats just me.
-
Just back from the movie, and it was pretty great and amazing. Hell the whole was great. The Leo Vs. Raph fight was pretty cool, and the April and Casey scene were great espically the one near the end of the movie during the car chase with Karai. xD

Dude rotten tomatoes is a mixed bag of…. "rotten tomatoes" lol
Unless a movie is smashingly good they give it 75% or even lower. Bunch of stuck up people mostly :P
I saw it last night. It was good. Not great, but fun.
Oh, also there is another 5th turtle from the cartoon and comics. Slash and his palm tree loving antics!
-
I don't trust Rotton Tomato or critics on these types of movies. Since most of the time, they don't know what they are talking about most of the time. But that just my opinion.
-
I just went and saw this movie yesterday and I cannot express how incredibly much I loved it. It has to be one of my favorite movies of all time now. It had everything, a great soundtrack, awsome fights (including the fight I've wanted to see the most, Leo vs. Raph) and the ending just gave me a great sense of apeasal(sp?).
-
Well the ending of the movie is setting up a sequal, and I do hope a sequal does happens. Because I do want to see more of this verison of the TMNT Universe and stuff. I agree that Leo and Raph did stole the show, when their fight was happening.
-

What are you talking about? The 4kids 2K3 series is awesome, and alot closer to the source material than the 1983 series. It's not garbage by any means. It's actually one of the good things 4Kids help create.
-
The 4Kids TMNT was based more on the Comic of TMNT Vs the Cartoon made back in the day. Well I love both series haha and all the movies.
-
Disregard the RT rating; most of the people who gave the movies bad reviews are the same lot who saw the show when its campy humour ruled the day, and the "dark edgy" comics to be nothing but a promotion for immoralty. So, of course they're going to bash this movie; it conflicts with their pre-concieved notions of what the TMNT are.
Heck, to observe this phenomenon elsewhere look at the people on K-F who hate OP movie #6.
Also, I've heard it's faithful and good; I wanted to see it today but had to settle for Borat. To describe that disaster in three words: "Worst. Movie. Ever."
-
Critic_s_ are usually right. I can't recall a case where RT would have been wrong but, nonetheless, I'm going to watch the movie pretty soon (if not right away).
-
well I saw it yesterday. It wasn't stellar, like best movie of the year or anything, but it was pretty good. I liked the charicter development thoughout the movie, but I felt the end was a little rushed. Splinter's voice bothered me a bit. I know they wanted him to have a japanese accent, but it sounded like he had a lisp to me. The rest of the voices were pretty good.
my favorite line was
! "so it's like haley's comet, but with monsters?….I'm smart" totally my sence of humor
and kari (sp) looks cool with her hood down. oh, and her hand gestures to the foot, those were cool too.
That white guy looked a lot like a mix between mr incredible and that gaston guy from beauty an the beast. (i think that's who I'm thinking of) his face just looked really familiar
-
I saw it last night, and I have to say that from an action movie perspective, it was really good. It was much more serious than the old Ninja Turtles we know and love, but I don't think it was such a bad change, except for the fact that "Mikey" came off as a whiney loser and the plot could have used a little more polish, seeing as it mostly ignored two of the turtles.
-

I'd have to agree. Not only did they have many of the classic characters revamped but the fight scenes were awsome, even though it wasn't the origonal story it had a very clear and origonal story as far as TMNT goes.
-
Critic_s_ are usually right.
About what? Critics are just noisy movie-weeaboo with more refined tastes/preferences than a general audience; if some critic looks at a film and says, "lol that's no Citizen Kane!" how many people actually SAW Citizen Kane?
In general, critics are quick to bash "low-brow" films like action flicks, and like any Evangelion-tard they'll try to look for metaphors and undertones that aren't there; when they ARE there, they'll miss 'em entirely. I know, for my "Critical Thinking" class in the Summer my Philosophy teacher hand-picked three movies with DELIBERATE metaphorical parallels and few, if ANY critics got them (for a note, the movies were "Jacob's Ladder, In the Cut, and Northfork".
To emulate Arthur Schopenhauer, that lot is composed of nothing but "pompous windbags". The perfect main-stream "critic" is someone who has only one or two years of movie experience, not twenty ++ something lifetimes worth of waste.
I can't recall a case where RT would have been wrong but, nonetheless, I'm going to watch the movie pretty soon (if not right away).
Watch A Love Song for Bobby Long, The Human Stain, In the Cut, Phenomenon, and Northfork.
-
They are right in a way that when they say a movie is good I usually like it too and when they say not I don't like it either. Naturally there can be exceptions, and there are, but that's why I said "usually" and "critics": one critic can be wrong but greater number of critics are likely to get it right. Proper critics simply gets to see far more many movies than an avarage person and that's to me what makes them alone more competent to say what stands out and what not (along with other reasons of course). People bash critics but I can't possibly read, watch, play and pay every book, movie and game that exists so I'm just thankful that there are people who do it for me .
Anyway, back to this movie. I have two major grips. The movie had loads of humour but it never made me even smirk! And it was way too short for it's own good. They just rushed through the whole thing. Characters were fine, I guess. The salt of the movie was the whole Raft and Leo story line. But why Don "the genius" couldn't figure out that Ralf was Night Watcher was beyond me.
-
Malintex_Terek perfectly summed up the current problem with critic reviews. Most critics [and famous non-critic reviewers] tend to be the kind that would eat up Evangelion's psycho-babble nonsense and quickly piss all over anything that didn't sum up the 'pain of life' in a musical metaphor.
If a movie is not 'indie' or 'philosophically stimulating', it's not a good movie.

You pretty much said it right there. I usually look around multiple sources when I want to read a movie review, It sets a good range of opinions.
And typically, I've found most reviews to really reflect the actual experience that I've had with the movie. I loved The Incredibles, The Incredibles also got good reviews. I hated Van Helsing, the reviews for Van Helsing were also pretty bad.
But I think most of all, when it comes to reviews, it just boils down to deciding what you think is a worthy and informative and a whats a steaming load of crap passed off as a review.
-
Well, the movie was obviously marketed towards younger people and existing fans, which a lot of critics don't fit the category of (and note that a lot of the ones who did rated it highly). I'm not really surprised at the generally low marks.
I might see it; I never really got into the whole TMNT thing, but some part of me wants to watch it. I mean, I really wanted to like the 2003 series, but something about it just turned me off (probably the dialogue). I've read a little of the original comic book, and it seemed decent, but it probably would have worked better as a limited run series or a one shot…
-
This did better than 300…..I'm angry.
-
yoska, maybe deep down, Don did know, but chose to leave it alone. I mean look what happened with Leo, when he confronted Raph. Maybe Don didn't want to deal with that, and thought it better to jsut let him blow off steam, and let splinter and leo deal with it in due time.
at least that was how I was looking at it.
-
I love this movie, it wasnt epic lke 300 but it was still good
-

Up until it became Fast Foward.
Anyways, I saw the movie on Saturday. It met all my expectations and I was pleased. The humor was funny, yet taseful. (No penis jokes!) The action was incredible. The plot was creative. And the animation was amazing. This movie made me love TMNT just as much now as I did when I was a little tyke. Though, I agree on the lack of focus on Don and Mikey. They could've put in a scene or two that was all about them. But there's one other thing that bothers me that no one else mentioned. April was WAY too skinny. They should've given her a fuller figure than that.
-

300 has been out for a few weeks and is still doing quite well. No movie stays at #1 forever and I'm glad that this one's doing well, since from what I'm hearing it seems like it's decent.

@Usopp:

April was stylized. All the women in that movie look like that. The first thing I remember was a stick lady laying on the ground. Remember the locals being bullied by those guys in south america, or whatever. the stick figures kind of bothered me, but I tried to look past it, cause they weren't going for realistic.
-
I wish this stayed buried in the 90's forever

Well the person I got the info from said it to me wrong, or I misunderstood him. I thought he said it did better than 300 comparing the opening days, he actually meant it did better than 300 right now, where TMNT is new and 300 was like 2 weeks ago. My fault.
