I know there is/was an international dub thread for the anime, but I didn't see anything similar about the manga.
I know in some countries (Brazil at least), they issue it in book forms, but not equivalent to the Japanese tankos like the American/English translation.
I've read that there are apparently several magazines in different languages that approximate ASJ (reprinting Jump series)
But I'd like to know more details.
Are all countries' handling of the manga content roughly equivalent, or do some take more stringent approaches to violence or profanity?
How much does a unit of One Piece cost around the world? In the US, it runs about 80-85 cents a chapter for the tankos, and about $1.65 per chapter in ASJ (assuming you get no value from other series) In Japan it apparently works out to about 40-45 cents per chapter for tankos, and approximately $2 per chapter in Jump.
How do the release rates and position in the story vary across the world? I've seen the Chinese volumes, and they looked very close to the Japanese (I think they had 43 at the shop I visited when 44 was current in Japan), but I'm guessing their release rate is pretty much pegged to the Japanese ones, because there's nothing old left to translate.
Conversely, the American translation's 30 volumes back, but is releasing at maybe 1.25 or 1.5x the Japanese rate.
I also realised I've never seen mention of an official Spanish translation, although someone mentioned . If I could read an official Spanish Enies Lobby, it would be a good excuse to dust off my high-school language lessons. Does one exist?
