What has started out as a seemingly unthreating show that played on Toonami, anime has spread all over the place. What are your opinions on this?
To me, anime sucks. No joke. The number of Anime shows actually worth watching have dropped incredible lengths. In fact, if it wasn't for One Piece, I would've screwed Anime over long ago. It was just luck that got me into One Piece, where it was shown that there was a Manga out there that wasn't cliche, stupid, overly dramatic, and had an awesome fanbase.
That's neither here nor there, though.
The fact is, the spread of Anime has become somewhat of a pet peeve of mine, what with the great art style I've grown up with. However, now that people love Anime, my love for Anime is almost worthless and cliche. It takes the air out of my sails.
The worst part of it is, most if not all of Americans just don't understand the true meaning of it, all. I know the meaning of Manga doesn't run deep, but it's definately more than just stupid fans, wacky hair, crazy fights. It appears that all the world cares about it hot guys and crazy battles.
I also dislike when people dislike One Piece, simply because they're unable to enjoy an honestly brilliant Anime, and not another crappy fanzine bishonen.
