yeah, in summer. some said it will be 7.7.07 but that isn't certain XD
EDIT: the movie comes out on 13.7.07 so it's unlikely that the 7.7.07 will be the release date for the book.
It also depends if Jo is content with the book of course XD

I want Harry to be killed by Voldemort.
Just as Voldemort is congratulating himself on his victory, Neville comes out and gets his revenge, killing Voldemort once and for all.
That is the ending I want to see.
And its the one I try to believe will happen.
I predict on page 666, Hermoine will die in Ron's arms.
My prediction is that Snape's good, that's kinda obvious by now.
@Anime:
I thought RAB was Regalus Black, Sirius' grandson. The last word of the book will be scar.
Regulas is Sirus' brother. He mentioned in OOTP that his brother was a death eater that got in too far then wanted out.
Another reason I think RAB is Sirius' brother, in HBP Dumbledore and Harry go to the cave and get the locket that is suppose to be a Horcux. If you remember in OOTP when Harry and the Weasleys are cleaning 12 Grimmuald Place, they come across a locket that they couldn't open. they end up throwing it out, but I think Kreacher might have taken it. He was taking things and hiding them.
I do believe Wormtail is a Death Eater, just a very weak one who follows the more powerful person. He does have a life debt to Harry, which I think will involve him saving Harry from Voldemort or the death eaters, at the cost of his own life.
Ron and Hermione will finally get together.
Harry and Ginny will get back together.
I belive Snape is really a good guy. I believe he was under orders from Dumbledore when he killed him. I have read that part a couple of times. At first I was shocked about the "look of disgust and hatred" on his face, but then a few pages back, She decribed Harry's feelings about making Dumbledore drink that potion in the exact same wording. I think his look of hatred and disgust was over the fact of what he was about to do, rather than being directed at Dumbledore. Also, take into account that Dumbledore froze Harry, and that had he hadn't, Harry could have easily stunned Draco and they both could have gotten away. Anyways, I have to believe Snape is good, as he is my Favorite character in the book. I also believe that Snape had a thing for Lily.
Neville will take out Bellatrix
I am torn over if Harry will die or not. I have also had the idea of Ron dying.
I don't think it will be Putunia that will use magic. JKR said she is definatly muggle. I never thought about Dudley though. The Dursleys would just love that! I also thought it might be the Squib that lives next door, the cat lady who testified at Harry's trail. Or maybe even Filch.
I think wormtail was there when Voldemort killed Harry's parents, and took his wand for safe keeping. (or just out of greed, I don't think he was special enough to know about the horcruxes, considering that Lucious didn't even to what Riddle's diary was)
I don't think both of them will die, as someone said before, that would void the prophecy. I do think the final showdown will be in the Department of Mysteries around that veil where Sirius died.
I will probably be wrong on most of these, as she is an incredible writer. I just don't want Snape or Lupin to die.
Yeah, someone has to take out Bellatrix. She's a total bitch. Like Kalifa + Miss Doublefinger + Miss MerryChristmas + Tayuya + Rin + Chirchiu + Emokis + female Hitler x10. And, she looks really creepy in the next movie.
@Ms:
I will probably be wrong on most of these, as she is an incredible writer. I just don't want Snape or Lupin to die.
She's lot of things but THAT she is definitely not.
Eh? Why are you reading the books when you think otherwise? Ô.o
Have to correct my theory about the title. The place where Harry's parents died is Godric's Hollow and not Hallow. But I still think it has something to do with Halloween :P
I'm not such a huge fan of Harry Potter anymore, but I will read the 7th one to finish the series.
Also, Harry will, without any doubt at all, die. Also, I seriously think that Sirius is still alive; as we don't know much about that thing he fell into.
@Mr.:
Also, Harry will, without any doubt at all, die. Also, I seriously think that Sirius is still alive; as we don't know much about that thing he fell into.
Nah, Jo said that Sirius is certainly dead. But I believe he will come back in flashbacks, as a ghost or anything else.
Why would Dumbledore force Snape to kill him when he knows that if that happens Voldemort will know that he has nobody to fear? I really call into question the credibility of such a statement.
Because he would have died anyway that day. He was really weak because of the potion and there were a lot of Death Eaters. Everyone of them could have killed him that day so I believe he said to Snape that he should kill him in a situation like that because 1. Snape will live on because he didn't break the vow and 2. Voldi will continue to believe that Snape is a trustworthy follower.
Well from what I heard, this is the last book. >.<
I dunno if it's been discussed earlier but yah ..
Jo is a good writer, not a great writer. She made a great story but her writing skills are not up to par as some. Her best book so far was probably the 6th one, in terms of writing that was her most critically acclaimed one.
I also think Snape killed dumbledore because it was part of Dumbledore's plan. There are many hints that point to it during book 6. Snape is crucial to the destruction of Lord Voldermont.
Book 6 was the best book in terms of plot. IT wasnt as "fun" as the others but it delivered on everything else. I am 90% sure that Snape is good because of the "flight of the prince" chapter. Snape went out his way after he killed Dumbledore to make sure he didnt or any of the other death eaters harm Harry. Harry kept chasing him, throwing jinxes at him. Snape just blocked him and told Harry to learn to clear your mind. Harry called him a coward. Snape responded in anger saying "dont you dare call me that".
The whole book was indirectly about Snape. From the unbreakable vow he was cornered into make, the half blood prince and dumbledore yelling at him telling him what he must do in which he responded saying "What if i dont want to do it anymore?" And Dumbledore responded you must.
This all adds up to Dumbledore feeling it was more important for Voldermont to trust Snape 100% than him being alive. He also didnt want Draco to kill him. He knew the plan because Snape told him. And also told him about the unbreakable vow he made.
I'm not such a huge fan of Harry Potter anymore, but I will read the 7th one to finish the series.
Definitely where I stand on the Harry Potter books.
Rowling is a good writer, but I believe her to be over acclaimed by many.
Either Harry or Voldemort dies, not both and not neither. So, Harry will likely survive.
Well, I think everyone has his own opinion about Jo and her work. For me, she is the greatest writer because no one else managed to get me that much into a story (that's only for books and not for manga, of course). I also think that it's great how she manages to surprise the readers every time in the end of a book.
Anyway, there are two other titles registered for the book: Heart of Ravenclaw and Deadly Veil It seems like the real title will be Deathly Hallows but Jo also considered these other two titles. Means they have to have a great meaning in the book.
The Deadly Veil will most likely be the thing, Sirius fell into.
The Heart of Ravenclaw is in my opinion either a Horcrux or a hint that someone from Ravenclaw will have a "big" moment in the book.
the deathly hallows are the horcurxes as well.
It is most likely the 4 horcurxes left are hallows of the 4 founders of Hogworth.

The horcurrxes are holy and sacred to Voldermont.

But there seems to be another one who is a regular on mugglenet.com
I'm really curious about the thing with Lily… I think it will have something to do with Snape because he obviously has to play a very important role in the book. Maybe even that he was in love with Lily like someone already pointed out.
But could it be with Harry's eyes? :wassat:
Green is the color of Slytherin but I don't think it has something to do with that.... ok, they are a Horcrux
You might think she isn't that great of a writer, but this was one of the first series that I really got into in many years. Of course, when it first came out i was one of those crazy people who avoided them.
I just like how she puts a long of thought into names and such. The small things that makes Harry's world so interesting to me.
But to each their own.
Here's a thought about horcruxes that I developed on my own.
Prof. Slughorn said that the natural state of the soul is for it to be whole. So if you found a horcrux, it might be used as a compass of sorts to guide you to the others.
^Taleran posted it in the 5th movie topic, so I just bumped it with the info he got.
Why would Dumbledore force Snape to kill him when he knows that if that happens Voldemort will know that he has nobody to fear? I really call into question the credibility of such a statement.
because if you actually read the book thats the only logical conclusion you can come to…..
I dont think it is the only logical conclusion. But it is one of a few.
Harry has to kill Voldermont. Or Voldermont has to kill Harry. Dumbledore knows this and Harry knows this.
because if you actually read the book thats the only logical conclusion you can come to…..
I second his reply.
Furthermore, I realize that there are other conclusions that you can come to, but if you were to read every single of the books leading up to that event, I believe that the conclusion of Snape being forced to unwillingly kill Dumbledore is obvious. Dumbledore mumbled please signaling for Snape to go ahead and deliver the finishing blow.
The Globetrotters will make a special appearance when Harry and his friends go to Hogwarts and have to solve a mystery.
! It was the gardener. He was wearing a mask.

ok…. wtf are you talking about? O.o
My guess is he didnt read most of the books and it is only judging the series on a movie or 2. They are nothing like scooby-doo.
This is probably one of the best series every created. It is up there with middle earth, narnia and etc.
It is made for children but it can be read by all ages and have an interesting story that is well written. And she does the most foreshadowing, I have ever seen. If you re-read some of the books, you would see clues for the others.
this book will be released on July 21st
^Proof plz? (16 chars)
"JKRowling.com was updated today with news that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be released on Saturday, July 21st, 2007, one week after the fifth movie hits theaters.
Scholastic has followed with a press release in which Lisa Holton, President of Scholastic Children's Books said, "We are thrilled to announce the publication date of the seventh installment in this remarkable series. We join J.K. Rowling's millions of readers - young and old, veterans and newcomers - in anticipating what lies ahead." You can read the full press release here.
The hardcover will sell for $34.99 with the deluxe edition fetching $65.00. These high prices could mean the book will be longer than any of the previous six."
So, it's true.
^I don't remember how much I payed for the 5th & 6th books, but still I'll buy the book the first thing it hits stores
I might reserve my copy. But then again I still got my copy of The Half-Blood Prince on the first day without a pre-order.
I bet you there's gonna be another "Snape kills Dumbledore!" asshole going around a book store giving away a big spoiler this year. It won't surprise me if it's the same guy, if he has the balls to do it again.

AH! 7 days before my b-day! I might be at Guatamala building houses though.
preordered her copy just after the title announcement ^^°°
lol, I saw the video of the "Snape kills Dumbledore"-guy.
the reactions were pretty funny XD
my day when a new hp book comes out is always the same:
1. attack the guy who delivers it
2. reading
3. eat while reading
4. reading
5. 1 or 2 hours of sleep
6. reading
7. FINISHED and discussion with my cousin who did exactly the same XD
Yeah, we are a little tiny bit obsessed XD
Well, no one can spoil me that way :P
I predict fangirls, crappy fan-fiction, dull movies and fangirl-squee-romance.
I predict that
Hagrid will die,
all the remaining Horcruxes will be found and destroyed,
Snape will kill Voldermort
Snape will die
Hermonie will figure out where the remaining Horcruxes reside
Petunia's hatred of her sister has to do with her not being selected from a non-wizarding family as a canidate for Hogwarts when her sister was.
But whatever it is, I will avoid spoilers until I finish the book.
I just wanted to bring this topic back up to announce that the cover art's been revealed.
Yeah I like how it looks, i would have thought they would have gone with a darker theme but this still works. and here a link that show the whole book cover.
I can just see the dialog on that cover. It makes me think of vampire movies.
Voldermort: You forget my power!
Harry: Well you forgot something too…
Voldermort: What's that?
Harry: SUNRISE!
Voldermort: arrrrrrrghhh!
