When Toei made this, which arc did you think was animated from the manga the best? This one is really hard. Im gonna say Louge. I cant say why. Id make this a poll, but its better this way.

The Arlong arc was very well done. Exceedingly true to the original and that much more of a tearjerker than in the manga.
-
I'd like to say Alabasta, but I haven't seen every episode. So, I'll say it's a tie between Arlong and Logue Town.
-
Luffy vs Crocodile was done very well.
-
I wasn't quite satisfied with Logue Town. I thought it went by too slowly. The filler wasn't awful in itself, but it just held back the arc.
-
I loved it. Daddy and Carmen seemed really natural, and Smoker got to knock Luffy across the town. :P
-
I didn't like Carmen at all.
I liked the concept of Daddy. I think I remember reading in an SBS that originally there were a few pages in the manga showing how Usopp got his goggles, but Oda had to cut it for space. And it was nice to see Yasopp.
I liked the idea of the bar that Luffy went to, but it was kinda slow.
And I really liked how Smoker saw Gold Roger's execution. -
Arlong arc, Little Garden, Drum Island, Alabasta, and Skypiea arcs were done very well IMO.
-
I really enjoyed Logue, and Alabasta (particularly the end), but the Arlong arc gets the choice from me. It was just… awesome. The battles were some of the best in the entire series, in my opinion. In particular, seeing Sanji beat the living CRAP out of Kuroobi was very, very fun to watch. Then, there would be the final confrontation at the top of Arlong Park. THAT... was possibly one of my favorite scenes in every single series I've ever watched or read. A few highlights...
- THE MARCH. I believe I wrote a summary of how damn cool it was earlier
Zoro: I can't let myself lose from wounds that would knock a NORMAL person out! I can't let myself die from wounds that would kill a NORMAL person! In order to beat the one who isn't normal, I can't be normal myself!!! "ONI" "GIRI"!!! NOW do you understand how much heavier my swords are? I bet you're satisfied, Octopus Boy...!! "TATSU" "MAKI"!!!!
Sanji: "Collier"!!! "Epaule"!!! What did you say you were going to take from me... ?! "Cotellete"!!! "Selle"!!! "Poitrine"!!! "Gigot"!!! "Mouton... SHOOT". Don't you want... any dessert?
--Luffy: I DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE SWORDS, YOU ASSHOLE!!! I DON'T HAVE ANY SAILING SKILLS!!! I CAN'T MAKE FOOD!! I CAN'T LIE!! I'M CONFIDENT THAT IF I DON'T GET SAVED, I CAN'T GO ON LIVING!!!
--Arlong: ... YOU THINK SOMEONE WITH NO PRIDE LIKE YOURSELF CAN BE A CAPTAIN?!! WHAT THE HELL CAN YOU DO?!!
--Luffy: BEAT YOU.--Luffy: I don't know much... about how great gyojin are... or about maps!! Or the circumstances!!! BUT I FINALLY FOUND A WAY TO HELP HER...!!!
--Arlong: GYAAAAAAHH!!!!
--Luffy: I CAN'T LET THIS ROOM STAY INTACT!!! I'LL DESTROY EVERY LAST BIT OF THE PLACE THAT KEPT HER WILL TO LIVE SUPPRESSED!!! GOMU GOMU NO... !!!!!!!!!Luffy: NAMI!!! YOU ARE MY NAKAMA!!!!
... Those are some of my favorite moments. Not that anyone cares, but...
-
Well I care and I agree those are indeed some of the best moment in the Arlong arc.

I think that's my favorite line in the series.
The March - you mean when Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Usopp were approaching Arlong Park? I think that's the single most badass scene ever.
The most badass shot, though, might be that first shot we get of Zoro with the badass electric guitar riff. -
Skypiea was animated horribly. >_o Drum and Arlong arc were the best imo.
-
Arlong
-
Arlong, Drum, Alabasta (at points). Whiskey Peak as well.
-
I would consider Davy Backfight, if they hadn't changed so much crap… (I didn't mind the filler, save the roller round).
-
Hm… I really enjoyed the end of the Alabasta arc especially, but I am biased because that's my favourite part of the manga.
So I'll have to go with Arlong Park. They adapted it from the manga amazingly.
-
Definetely the current Arcs and the Skypiea Arc.
-
For animation quality, Davy Back Fight looked great, but there is just something about how the Jaya arc was done that earns my vote for it.
-
Arlong and Logue are up there. Ussop and his rubberband/hammer skills? Best.
In terms of animation quality, well I'm sure they'll get better as time passes by which is why DBF is probably on everyone's top list for quality. I'd have to say though, Arabasta? Ew.
-
Arlong arc. "NAMIII!!! OMAE WA… ORE NO NAKAMA DA!!!!!"
Arabasta's my favourite manga arc, but it's only awesome in the last few episodes.
The Loguetown filler wins best filler.
-
Arlong Park :D
-
I like the most Arlong arc, cause fight Sanji versus Kuroboo was great!!!!
And Zoro' skills with a big injury also was incredible. -
Hmm, I never replied to the question it seems. I guess I'll do so now.
The infamous Arlong Arc takes the cake for me. So many awesome moments and great music to accompany them. The march, I don't think any of us can easily forget about that moment. One of the best in the entire series, well, one of my favourites if not the favourite.
The Logue Town arc is also up there, tied with Arabasta. Logue Town was a great, short mini-arc, but it had some filler or some things here and there that I disagreed with. The Arabasta arc was excellent. However, some of the filler and the partial dragging out of Luffy VS Crocodile had me groaning for a little bit. Aside from that, the story was great and at quite a couple of points had me at the edge of my chair.
Little Garden was good too, hilarious stuff. Though, not one of my favourites exactly.
-
ow yeah definitly the Arlong arc ^^, followed closely by the Arabasta arc. You just gotta love all that extra Ace screentime. The logue town filler can really be considered the best filler; the additions are really nicely done. Before arlong, the only moments in the anime that were really well done are ep 4 and ep 24 (though the animation per se, wasn't that good).
