Waiting for the glitches and issues to be fixed.
Price will likely drop by then.
Also want to double check if I can Mod my controller.

That was one of my main concerns.
The last thing I need is to be curled up in a corner rocking back and forth and screaming "Disc read error!?"
Said the poster who called anyone suggesting Sony may not have made a device created the leech the souls out of consumers "fanboys".
If I were childish, I'd point out that it's actually 'you're'. However, this being the internet, that comes with the territory. Rather I'm just being realistic, which is a far cry from suggesting Sony simply created a less-powerful 360.
Since "YOUR'RE" going to start getting technical I might as well start too.
Quote the post where i say the ps3 is less powerful than the 360, what's that there isn't one?. I have only stated the graphics are better at this point and you cannot deny that (you probably will though), that is not due to power that is because the 360 graphics card is better than the ps3's RSX.
Wait…you're defending the fact that you never said PS3 was capable of what 360 could produce, then continue to conclude your post by stating as such? I fail to see the logic in this.
Regardless, my point has nothing to do with graphics.
As Gon eloquently put it, a PS3 is just a NES with pumped up graphics. Therefore it doesn't deserve anyone's praise.
I, and I do believe the overwhelming majority of this community share this opinion, do not think graphics have jack shit to do with a system.
I've been reading several of your posts now and they all seem to bring up graphics in some way or another.
If this is truly your train of thought, then surely you agree that Nintendo slammed themselves in the testicles with a tire iron by releasing the Wii.
Yes, graphics DO augment the gaming experience and they are expected to do as such. There's no question about that. But they don't determine what any serious gamer spends their cash on.
In so few words my point is: who gives a flying fuck about graphics. As such, my point was to draw attention to the fact that your main argument seems to be stemming from, "It hasn't given me a pixel-gasm therefore I shouldn't waste my time on it."
It is indeed about the gameplay. There's nothing yet on PS3 that tickles my interest, but I know there will be.
Again, I am shocked we're retracing our steps yet again here.
Since "YOUR'RE" going to start getting technical I might as well start too.

Stop embarrassing yourself any longer.
Anyway, I might get Wii. But not PS3, never PS3. "Realistic" graphics have never been my style.

Right you have no comeback, meaning you embarrassed yourself by lying.
I think I'll take my leave now.

PS3 to me is a massive let down it's just an over priced xbox 360 with a hd movie player built-in.
Technically you didn't use those precise words, but this heavily implies the same idea.

So far the 360 has better games, graphics, smaller size console, it's cheaper and doesn't force a new format on you that may lose the HD war.
I deny it.
AARGGG I HAVEN'T EVEN SEEN THE FINAL PRODUCT OF MGS4 AND I'M GONNA SAY ITS GRAPHICS ARE WORSE THAN GEARS OF WAR.

Do you know why the 360 has better games? It's because it's been out for a freaking year. Launch games are usually easily beatable, with some exceptions. Now, the PS3 from a year now. The prices should drop a bit, and much better games that take full advantage of the PS3's graphical abilities come out. Is it just a 360 with a hd movie player built in now?
And it's not like 360 isn't advertising their next gen dvd format. While its reliance isn't on it itself, Sony and Microsoft are pulling their customers into this as well. Sony could probably still use the Blu Ray format for its games even if it fails, and allowing it not to be just a "360 with an hd movie player built in"
I'm not a Sony fanboy, I actually find the Wii to be the console of my choice, but I kinda find your arguement… lopsided... or some other word that I don't feel like pulling out.
i might buy a PS3 later on when the price has dropped a couple of 100 dollars,
man honestly its funny that im considering buying a 600 dollars console just to get my Metal gear fix, man that hideo kojima really has me by the balls xD
NES is a souped-up led light.
Dunno. GeOW could very well end up being the better looking half of the two. Eventually PS3 will kick 360's ass in graphic department though. It won't be a huge ass whooping but, never the less, an ass whooping.
Honestly, I think 360 is starting to look like a darn good deal (I could get C&C3 without having to update my computer). MGS4 has to be really, and I mean reeaally gooood, to get me buy a PS3 since Snake Eater and Sons of Liberty didn't impress me that much.
Noy buying PS3 at all! Mostly cause I'm one of those Nintendo fanboys. And the "second" reason is the dam prize of the dam thing… Seriously... What did I read the prize was agording to that one source... 600 $? Tought I'm gonna miss MGS4 and the others Sony main branch family games... Or how you want to call em... :P
Since the PS3 is nothing more than a shameless plug for the Blu-Ray format, no way am I buying it. I have better things to spend $600 on (for example RAM and harddisks).

It's not the first time theres ever been a console on the market with a $600+ price tag.
Neo Geo also had $300-$600 games as well. I don't think Sony will get that bad (atleast I hope so). For a console, maybe, for games, hell no I wouldn't pay that much.

And the Xbox360 is just a shameless plug for HD-DVD that happens to play incredibly popular games.
I love all systems and ESPECIALLY this round I think all three will warrant a purchase by me somewhere down the road with games like Banjo & Kazooie and Blue Dragon on 360.
But just pushing off a PS3, which is being sold at more than a hundred dollar loss per system, as this 'thing' which is just a machine to push another product? Come now. It's something extra you're paying for, hence that pricey tag.
If you can't bite the bullet now….then wait....like most of us are.....for either a worthwhile library to come out or production costs to trickle down as production methods become more efficient and parts cheaper. I bought a DVD player for 40 bucks the other day. I can remember when they were as much (and more) than a PS3.
As things stand now, Sony is losing a crapload on each system so complaining about the price, well, it really doesn't have a place.
Not wanting it because of the price is a completely different and totally valid issue. Sony made the decision to pack it with crap and if the consumers aren't willing to spend for that, then that's an albatros that Sony has to bear. But there will come a time when it's much more affordable.
Since I don't see anyone slathering Sony with praise for awesome PS3 games, rightfully so, I'm not sure why it's even an issue about the price since there isn't a 'gotta have it' game yet. If you want it to have a hefty chunk of plastic on your shelf and a small library of decent games then….well, I guess you have reason to take up fists with Sony but...I don't think there are many of us willing to pay that much for a bucket of bolts just yet.
Realistically speaking, I probably won't buy one (as if you can actually pick one up right now with the high demand!) because I'm a cheap bastard. Right now I'm focusing on getting my grubby paws on a Wii because I'm a Zelda- and Smash Bros.-crazed lunatic.
EDIT: ^I like that guy in the background that's killing himself laughing.
Sort of on topic here.
Moments later, they untied the man when the realized they needed the cord for the game they stole.
Oh my God. That made my year. What little is left of it.
Huh. Well that's the most peculiar of PS3 stories I've heard.
Will blu-ray be the new beta max?
I am not sure, we'll see…
jumps out of topic before greg harms him
Will blu-ray be the new beta max?
They're both insane.
Yes, they both have a vast pit of funds for support if it should fail but still…what an idiotic idea pulling the same crap again.
I can't wait until the general public realizes this. Right now it seems to be in the phase of:
"Oh new technology cool."
Which is what they'll continue to think until they bring home their shiny new HD player and stick in Resident Evil Apocalypse or some shit.
Then it'll hit the fan.
I could care less, they both deserve whatever suffering that may result.
...what a dumb idea -_-....
I should invent a format….

Bravo Greg. Bravo.
