ok first, we need to get something straight.
4Kids sucks obviously. But Pokemon sucks too. Even yugioh, which I hate, is in my eyes slightly better than the horrible, stretched out, milked to death piece of crud that is Pokemon. 75% of everything was merchandise, because kids had to have pokemon. I've always tohught it was a stupid idea. Pokemon is big for the reason that 3-5 year olds begged their parents to sell everything to buy them more cards….and it worked.
4Kids only made matters worse with the merchandise.
The game looks, admittedly ok, if you are into that sort of Animal Crossing style game. The comemrcial on TV is funny. I read somewhere that 4Kids wanted the game to put more kid-friendly games on the Xbox, which according to their stats, is 90% more mature games they can't play. First off, my opinion, 4Kids sucks. It's just a reputation booster, so those dumb protective parents("Harry Potter teaches are kids to do witchcraft and dark magic!", remember them?) will buy their stuff and think of them as a good, kid-friendly company. My second point, people are too protective. Most people probably don't realize games and movies don't have to be submitted for ratings. Most companies sign contracts with the rating boards though, so for the next XXX years they legally agree to send them in and be rated.
So in my eyes, they are too protective. Kids can look at blood. What happens if they cut themeselves on a bush? they'll freak out because suddenly red stuff is coming out of them, and they don't know anyone that has that happen to them. Honestly I think everything(except strong lagnuage) should be ok for things rated E, and they need to get rid of that dumb E 10+ they just created. like 90% of all E rated games are now E 10+. Bonehead move. Now those stupid parents(the Harry Potter banning types from before) are going to go on a rampage, restricting now E 10+ games from their kids below 10, and call anything E 10+ "innapropriate" for their 9 and 1/2 year old.
Thats a ton of extra words in detail to say: 4Kids wants over-protective parents to like them more.
The game, well, it's only for the Xbox 360, which I don't have, and wil not be getting. I'm waiting for the Xbox 3 to come ot a few years from now before upgrading my Xbox. Otherwise I might try it out.
Anyone else get the feeling the next generation consoles will be used next to the older ones like the gamecube? Well, maybe not, since the PS 3 and Xbox 360 are backwards compatable, and the Wii is even more backwards compatable. But for some reason I see the Gamecube still in use.
