Finally got to see Across the Spider-verse. What can I say? You all know how amazing it is. Okay, I have a few things:

Sad to say but sometimes the animation was TOO flashy. For someone like myself with a seizure condition that meant a lot of closing my eyes and not being able to see what's happening. (animation beyond gorgeous otherwise)
Teensy too rushed, but they were packing a lot in there. Would have benefitted from maybe 20 more minutes, but that's damn long.
SPIDER. PUNK.
Writing amazing, characters amazing, voice acting AMAZING. Don't need to say anything more about the animation.
The first fight alone made my jaw drop.
Damn that cliffhanger.

Interestingly enough, Deadpool 3 is being moved forward by six months. The rumors about the film being a sort of overall tribute to the Fox-produced X-Men films is actually really interesting and I'm wondering how exactly they plan on pulling that off.

Across the Spiderverse was a big step up from the first for me.

I say that after watching Into the Spiderverse directly before viewing Across the Spiderverse. I think the narrative raises the stakes literally, but also emotionally as well. I found the narrative and character arcs far more compelling and relatable than the first(won't go into details because spoilers).

Also, the animation was much better than the first somehow.

Again, my only problem with the animation was it was sometimes TOO flashy. It makes it hard or even impossible for someone with seizures/epilepsy to watch it, which is just sad.

Looks like I was right about Universal losing the rights for the Hulk stuff. Since the MCU Hulk movie is now on Disney+.

I saw Across the Spider-verse tonight. It's so reverent of comics and Spidey in general and it was so well made. It's better than the first and it gets to tell a somewhat complete story even as the central part of a trilogy. It's knocking at 10/10 for me.

Yeah, a lot of the scooper/leaker community were pushing the Hulk rights narrative and it stems from vidoardes theory thread where he used an outdated doc concerning Paramount and Universal's deal.

Since then, Disney has come into the fold. The more credible outlets came out later and confirmed that Disney has the rights to stream the 08 Hulk film and that's all. It's not the character's film rights. Universal still has the right to refuse on a Hulk film.

08 Hulk has streamed on Apple TV+ in the past as well. Many of those accounts have since corrected their mistake.

Yeah, hearing the behidn the scenes of the insane crunch they did to the staff on Spiderverse really soured me to it.

12 hour work days, 7 days a week, for a solid year... up to 5 retakes on finished scenes,... it was such an acheievement for artists and it turns out the execs have no idea how to manage a production and they completely abused and exhausted the artists ainstead, causing over a hundred of themm to quit. It was apparently and incredibly shitty behind the scenes production... and presumably similar on the first movie.

Also we all thought they'd been working on 2 and 3 at the same time which is why just a year away was feasible, we assumed part 3 was lke 70% done... but they haven't even storyboarded the third movie yet or recorded any dialogue. There was never any way it was going to be done in 10 months.

I don't understand why ANYONE thought it would be and would advertise such a date.... except to trick viewers into thinking it was okay going to a movie with a cliffhanger. "Oh you won't have to wait that long, it's fine that it's unfinished."

The sleeves here are apparently due to Jackman being proned to skin cancer. As a result, I really don't think it's a problem.

Yeah, it's like a send off for the Fox projects. Wouldn't be surprised if F4 actors or EE pop up. Some on Twitter bunched Ghost Rider and Blade in there, but that was a Sony project and Warner did Blade.

Deadpool was supposed to be close to being done filming, but it hit another pause due to the strikes. Colin is done filming Penguin for Max in April, so it would be hilarious if they brought him in for Bullseye.

The concept is similar to the fanservice in Multiverse of Madness. Fans wanted Maria and Peggy to be Captain Marvel and Captain America in some capacity and got it. Same as bringing back Inhumans, X-Men, and fancasting Krasinski as Richards.

Coincidence that less than 2 weeks ago, Bryan Cranston repeated a similar sentiment to my own that casting him as a bald headed character in comic book projects is lazy. It won't stop fans from going off who they like, deem attractive, and typecasting as opposed to potential.

I really enjoyed Secret Invasion. Would definitely put this in the top 5 of these Marvel Studios series.

My assumption is they realized the movie ended with zero resolution, and that audiences would be pissed if they knew there was going to be a 3-4 year wait till the next one.

So they put out a completely bogus release date. "8 months from now? I can deal with that."

And so everyone assumed "well clearly they've been working on them at the same time, and the second one is probably like 70% done."

Once we found out they don't even have a finished script, or any voice work done? That it's not past the boarding phase and doesn't even have a middle?

Even clueless execs that know nothing about animation timetables had to know it wasn't getting done in 8 months.

That original release date was a complete lie to placate people and it was always going to be pushed back, even before the strikes.

Same thing kind of happened with Dune. "Well it ends in the middle of the story, and we haven't greenlit part 2 year... but if it does well we'll get it out in 2 years." which people were okay with.

For some context, this was initially 1 film that ended up becoming parts. They were alluding to how that sequel would be handled before Into The Spider-Verse was released (2018). They finally confirmed it would be 2 parts in 2021.

When that usually happens, they are already mapping out the particulars, hiring, and deadlines before the trailer can come out the the first part. March just doesn't make sense in general. Adding the strikes to the equation magnifies any other dilemma in delivering this 2nd film.

Saw GoT3 this weekend, very good movie. Best one of MCU since Endgame.
The GoT3 trilogy was really solid, probably the best of the MCU.
Loved how the High Evolutionary was played. And Rocket's flashback was veeeeery painful.

I agree. I thought it was as good (though not as novel) as the first guardians, though not as much as the second. Drags a bit, but I enjoyed all of it. I think GOTG3 and No Way Out have been the only great post-Endgame MCU movies.

I did enjoy Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Quantumania, but a lot of the rest, including many of the shows, have been pretty forgettable or worse. The investment I and many others around here and all over had with the MCU from say, Captain America 1 - Endgame may have just been something of a fluke. Then again, I desire to enjoy it as much as I used to and for the movies to still be successful, they just aren't as good or as successful lol.
