It all begins again.....only this time, Liu Kang is now a god and the Keeper of Time. And I have a feeling Kronika's fellow Titans aren't too happy about what he's done.

Sure hope a good portion of the roster is made up of new characters or those who were glossed over in the last four games.
I also hope we’ve moved on from the gimmick of Sub-Zero & or Scorpion being a he cover characters.
-
A loooot of crying in subs and online forums because people are mad affraid their favs are going to end up in the support characters pool. The visuals, as always, are impressive - the gore has become so cartoonish that I feel a bit better about it when compared to the impact MKX had on me.
-
@puffing-cinema I think the Kameo Fighter system is a good idea, as there are quite a few MK characters and you can't have them all in.
-
I like the idea, too! We just have yet to know how exaclty it will work and what's supposed to do. I, personally, hope that they are more ambitious than to copy Marvel Vs Capcom, a game from 20 years ago.

That wouldn’t be any worse than being reduced to an Easter egg such as a bottle of essence in the Krypt or a decapitated head in someone’s intro.
-
I think it's still better than not having the chance to play with them at all...but to each his own.
-
We will see game footage for the first time at the Summer Game Fest, on June 8th.
-
So, it seems that Kameo Fighters can be also from the playable roster, too.
And it seems Scorpion and Sub-Zero are actually brothers, now?
-
Kenshi’s fighting style looks badass! Fighting with a ghost specter that copies his movements

So, there has been a partial roster leak, and the guy who has done so has proven to be reliable in the past. Spoilers, obviously. Here is the twitter page for those curious:

Hell of a tease

Nitara doesn't surprise me, they've kinda been pushing her lately, been in the 2021 LA movie (just to job but still), cameoed in Scorpion's Revenge. Was hoping she would've been a DLC in 11 but hey better late then never. Yeah I'm a little bias cause I like vampires, but she's always been one of the few interesting ones of the Deadly Alliance era.
-
Feel the same about Ashrah don’t know why they were left out of the last three.
Especially when they were willing to bring back Kenshi & Bo Rai Cho
-
-
Is Rain a wizard now?
-
@puffing-cinema Yes. His profile says he is the "High Mage of Outworld".
-
Got to be honest, I don't like guest characters in general, as they take spots from other characters, but this selection really sucks.

Eh?
The guy that decides on the roster is easily capable of making better picks but when the majority of the roster is made up people who’ve been in multiple games in or near succession with barely any new characters able to stay around for long we can’t really put the heat on guest characters for “taking spots”.
Like Li Mei wasn’t in any of the games between 9-11 at least not as a playable character but Sub-Zero & Scorpion sure as shit was. And yes I do know those two will show up frequently due to their popularity. But you have had characters over the years who were popular who went missing in between games “just cause”. And as for this selection being not good?
X Had Jason, Leatherface, Predator & Xenomorph, Bo Rai Cho & Triborg
That was far worse.

I spent the entire trailer shocked by how much they ruined Mileena characterization.
Turns out it’s a different character I never heard of.
In my defense, they look way too similar and the trailer switched between both, so I didn’t realized there were 2 characters.

I have been told that in this incarnation, Havik is from Seido, or the Orderrealm, instead of the Chaosrealm like he was originally from.
-
I like how I argued Reptile’s XRay should be a fatality and then be has a fatality where he swallows his opponent whole just to spit them out.
-
I like the approach on Reptile here in terms of character design. Appeals to the classical human Reptile while making him more bestial than any previous instance.
Not sure I like what they did with his personality, though…But in general, I am still not feeling this game in terms of character design. Everyone is looking too mundane and similar to one another, my feeling is that I am seeing the Hollywood actors picked to play the parts rather than the actual characters.

I mean his personality in the earlier games wasn’t much to get behind. I will say I’ll be shocked though if something doesn’t happen to make him wind up evil again.

With Ronda Rousey setting the bar as low as she did as Sonya it can’t get any worse.
