@MooseAP Didn't you get sued by the Adult Swim Forums for basically making accounts over there? I think someone made an article about you as you wouldn't leave that forum site alone.

@Nitwit Roman gets into trouble at every message board he goes to. Because I have seen his act at Adult Swim, Toon Zone, and Gamefaqs. Heck, Gamefaqs on their Toonami board had an article about Roman.
-
I like said before the movie is doing pretty good at the Box Office. We should be happy that it a least beat Black Adam on Friday. Also we should be happy about how much One Piece grown between Film Red and Stampede.

Again (and I see you Sano) can we stop focusing on my past and just talk about One Piece? Enough about me. Seriously.
I think I’ll take a page out of your books and just be glad that OP is at least growing in popularity. At the very least, Good thing for the pandemic - because it allowed OP to become more popular in America.

Lol. We all are except for one member XD

Nothing wrong with that though.
-
@Zephray Totally agree on that point for sure.

Anyways, I started my Reverie cutting project with the one episode we have out. It only took me five minutes to edit down the episode to like 12 minutes. Editing is always fun. Only question is whether I'll have time for it in December, and whether I'll be in town and near my computer when the set comes out.
I'm not doing any pacing cutting besides cutting the flashback/recap scenes, so don't expect anything fancy like One Pace. Just making the arc watchable. I'll let y'all know when the full cut is finished and available through PM.
@MooseAP, I actually just watched a film called BANSHEES OF INISHERIN, and the thematic conflict is whether to care about legacy or "being nice." And of what value "being nice" is. Watch it; the themes might get through to you a bit.
Are you saying you already have one of the Reverie episodes dubbed?
-
I think the set that went up on Microsoft last week has the 5th emperor episode on it, which is a Reverie episode.
-
@MooseAP I agree it sounds great, our best hope is that the Bluray release has the songs dubbed
-
This video pretty much sums up how I feel about OP’s performance in the BoxOffice.
-
@MooseAP Okay but I wouldn't even use the word Pandemic given some of us had to recover from those events. Most of us lost our families during that event. Poor choice of words. Also, who banned the Romans again? Assuming mods didn't know until recently. I checked his last post about what got him banned and it's just a YouTube video.

I guess the mods don’t read this thread and none of us reported him? I figured they were waiting for him to be more egregious.
-
@Zephray Possibly. He didn't act rude to me or Sano maybe he thought the mods would be nicer to him after a few years away from the site. I really don't know. Kinda feel bad for him.
-
Anyways, back on topic. Now, I'm wondering if Collection 31 is coming out in February. Since Season 12, Voyage 2 is coming out in January.
-
Took long enough, good riddance
Anyways yeah should be around there I imagine
-
When do y'all think RED bluray will release?
-
I'm guessing probably some point next spring or summer. Since the Japanese home video release for movies are usually around 7-8 months after the theater run.
-
Shibata claims he watches the dub at the very end here lol

In its debut weekend, One Piece Film Red, the 15th feature film in the One Piece franchise and directed by Goro Taniguchi, discovered treasure with $9,323,267 at the domestic box office. The franchise has seen considerable growth with One Piece Film Red marking a wider release than past films, offering fans even more opportunity to enjoy the newest installment of the hit global franchise. In 2019, One Piece: Stampede opened as an event style release with a total gross of $1,308,571, and now in 2022, One Piece Film Red opened in over 2,400 theaters across North America with a remarkable total gross opening weekend of over $9.3M.
One Piece Film Red is the latest in a slate of major theatrical releases from Crunchyroll in North America and opened on 3280 screens in 2415 theaters, with a large footprint of premium formats including IMAX, 4DX, MX4D, Dolby Cinemas, and DBox. The film is available in Japanese with English subtitles as well as dubbed in English.
"We were confident that One Piece Film Red would be a hit with U.S. and Canadian audiences and this weekend's stellar opening proves it," said Masayuki Endo, President and CEO of Toei Animation Inc. "This is a history-making moment for the One Piece franchise and its most successful theatrical release ever. Over the last 23 years, the One Piece anime series has attracted an enormous global fan base and it continues to grow around the world – especially here in North America as illustrated by the film's success."
"One Piece is one of the most storied franchises in anime history, and Crunchyroll is thrilled that the film from our partners at Toei Animation saw success at the box office this past weekend," said Mitchel Berger, Senior Vice President of Global Commerce. "To have the tremendous support of fans for One Piece Film Red continues the trend of anime leading the charge in audiences coming back to theaters and enjoying the big screen experience."
Looks like One Piece actual numbers is 9.323 Million, Toei Animation and Crunchyroll are very happy.
-
There we go. Both Toei and Crunchyroll are happy about how Film Red is doing.
-
@Zephray Awesome to see that they are aware of the progess the dubs been making, especially metioning Whole Cake ending! Hopefully this means good thing for us dub watchers
-
More good news:
Official numbers have the opening weekend landing above 9mil. That's great for the series, though frustrating considering the lack of union and payout to the cast.

I am very curious to see if the monthly releases continue for the Wano arc and what will they do once they close the gap, would they purposely wait 12 weeks then release the batch or a month after the 12 episodes aired in Japan
-
I’d be okay with that, but I’d really prefer a simuldub. I don’t like the “will they won’t they” of waiting every 2-4 months to see if they’ll release the set, checking every month on the fifteenth or whatever. Too many bad memories of doing that.
-
Batch releases being 12-16 weeks behind wouldn't be the worst. It would probably be the most realistic solution, with the amount of random voices they would need to assemble every episode. Fortunately the manga would give them a heads up when an important old character is returning at least
-
If they could be behind 4 weeks, that'd be magic. Though I don't imagine them ever being that close, though with the current pacing, it depends how long this final arc goes.
-
@Luffy_80 With the way Wano was drawn out, there's no way Oda's wrapping things up in less than 200 chapters (been thinking for a while that his target is 2027 for the 30th anniversary, with the anime following suit in 2029-ish).
Provided we keep dubbing at the current pace, we'll be caught up in '24, so we'll be needing to make some big, long-term decisions (which I could see hinging on what Crunchy's simuldub landscape looks like by then).
-
@wjbraden Guaranteed, and not only that, but with 4-5 more years, thats roughly 200-250 more chapters, which would make Volume 60 (Timeskip) aka "The Halfway Point" squarely in the middle of the series (if 120 Volumes, for 1200ish chapters)
-
The latest dubbed song dropped today. This one and Fleeting Lullaby are my favorites, so hopefully she does that one next.
-
@Zephray I wish this was in the movie but nice for Toei Animation to not copystrike her channel as she did sing the song itself plus they paid her money to voice Uta so it would be scummy if they copyright her video.
-
It's really remarkable how close the english rhythm sounds to the japanese here. It's a very good translation/adaptation. I've listened to both songs so many times and they sound so similar, to a degree that the Funimation ones never did.
-
@Zephray She does have talent and she probably needs permission from Toei and the music label company to allow her to make the English versions of these songs plus she is a real singer unlike most anime dub voice actors in America.

One Piece Film Red Crosses US$12.7 Million in U.S.
Congrats on the good news!
I think I have to wait for the blu-ray for this one, I ended up not going to theaters at all.

It hasn't completely left theaters yet, either, so we can maybe get a little more added to that. I'm very pleased the film is doing well here. I hope we get older films dubbed soon.

Crunchyroll's February releases are out. No, One Piece release.
-
Are we still feeling Wano will start in January?
-
Latest cover is out.

Seems right to me. They haven't slowed down yet. No reason to believe they would, except that casting a new slew of characters takes some time. And yet they did that for WCI's plethora of characters without needing a break, so they can probably do it for Wano, too. I'm excited to make my little fan edit of Reverie next month.
-
If they keep at this rate, they’ll be releasing our current subbed episodes (1040s) in January 2024. Will be caught up around mid-year 2024.
-
@Zephray Heres to hoping this comes to pass
-
Hey, at least we will finally catch up with the dub from the sub. Hopefully, CrunchyRoll could plan a simulcast dub soon maybe
-
So this is kinda weird, Anime Limited's gonna put on some One Piece video projections in London this weekend. I know that there are still screenings, but surely it must be on its way out of cinemas now? It came out two weeks ago and is gonna be facing competition from a Marvel and animated Disney film this weekend. Unless this will be a new announcement of some kind?
They've also
and displayed a model of Luffy's hat in King's Cross station, so they must have been pretty confident in Film Red!
-
Voyage 8 is out on FUNimation. Whole Cake Island is finished!
