Did he work on the last few seasons where Courage stopped talking (which apparently was a network decision)?
He was the only director for every single episode of the series and had writing credits on every episode.

On one hand I sympathise with creatives who get screwed out of their IPs, on the other hand when that creative is someone who is a COVID conspiracy theorist…

So basically this crossover can’t get any worse than the later seasons of Courage did then?
I might give Jellystone a chance. The Boo Boo joke in the trailer made me laugh.
Only rumors right now. But, oy, CN, can you focus on some more original content please? I've kinda had my fill of continuations, reboots, and remakes. This generation seriously needs more of its own identity on the animation front right now.
Considering the iffy history of original programming from 2001 to 2015…..
They've done nothing but air 6 hours of Teen Titans Go a day for years now anyway, Adult Swim is where they make all the new stuff that actually gets attention. They haven't been relevant ina loooong time.
But yes, very much trying to mirror the Nick model.
As long as they're not trying to bring back live action shit.
Also, didn't CN already try a pre-school block or am I misremembering?

No.
Also they're not copying Nickelodeon since Nickelodeon had enough sense to eventually make Nick Jr. it's own thing….Don't know why Nick Mom was tied to it though. They're literally trying to take it back to 2005.
I know we joke about how bad things have gotten with CN in the modern era but jesus christ.
Okay did they have a fight with WB or something. They had tons of new content from them. Not all great but it's SOMETHING: Justice League Action, The Tom & Jerry Show, Bunnicula, the Wacky Races reboot. Hell I barely even see DC Super Hero Girls on the network. Why are they only focusing on the stupid Titans, Gumball and Craig? Gumball's virtually on it's way out after the movie. This "Nick" model is a crutch, it's not helping the network any because it just keeps it stagnant while goldmines of new material just float on by. I know were in the digital age and streaming is sapping all the attention but at least try to work with what you have, and by that I mean ALL you have, not just in-house products (for crying out loud, Gumball is an international co-production with their Europe branch). Speaking of where Victor and Valentinio and Mao Mao, I haven't heard much from those series, give them some more re-run love. But no, no. that Boomerang channel, which mind you was meant to replay cartoon from years past, is just a great dumping ground for what they don't care about. It's still filling the obligation to be aired, but no one said it had to be on the MAIN network. Yay loopholes.
=_= I know the media world isn't easy to navigate and you'll have to make concessions, but this is just… frustrating.
Besides some stuff on Adult Swim, I haven't really watch much of Cartoon Network since Steven Universe and OK KO ended. The only upcoming show on Cartoon Network, I know I will be watching is the new season of Total Drama.
I'm starting to think that the suits behind WB, CN, and DC are the pettiest and dumbest suits in the bizz right now.
One of the former Cartoon Network execs hated the fact that they had "Cartoon" in their title. That was the era where they had all the forgettable low budget live action garbage that no one remembers.
They were absolutely the wrong person to be in charge.
Kind of like whoever turned the Sci-Fi channel into the SyFy channel and added wrestling. Its been over a decade and that's STILL dumb.
You have a niche, own it. You'll get your ratings from the people that want that and kleep your channel on all the time because that's what they want..

Believe it or not they got good ratings for some of that. But yeah it did lead to some bullshit.

Hmmm does this mean they can still randomly cancel shows whenever and even if a good number of people watch it?
Or randomly fuck around with it’s schedule killing viewership in the process?
Well no, ideally the person in charge would actually like their content and want to support everything the believed in.
As opposed to folks in charge that hate the entire genre and are only there for the $$$.
We're getting an Urkel Christmas special in 2021…
https://gizmodo.com/cartoon-networks-new-acme-night-will-be-packed-with-dc-1847600827
o_- What…is this timeline?
Seriously do kids today even know who Urkel is? The only reruns of Family Matters I see are on, like, some networks you gotta pay extra for. Last time Jaleel played the role was for that Scooby Doo and Guess Who show. I let that slide cause it was just for fun, but it was obvious he couldn't do the voice as well as he could in the 90s due to being older. So why suddenly focus on him now out of the blue like this? I know this is the reboot era but..just really?
End of an era on Adult Swim. The final Adult Swim airings of Family Guy is on September 18th.
…..I thought that was supposed to happen years ago.
When Disney bought Fox a few years ago, they were pretty clear in that there was no way Adult Swim was going to be able to extend their deal for the Fox shows when the current ones expired. I think the one for Bob's Burgers still has a couple years left on it but they won't get any new episodes since those are airing on FXX. It's been that way for a while now though and that might haven even been the case before Disney bought Fox.
I know, Cartoon Network is making the Urkel Christmas Special. But I didn't expect the Network to air Family Matters a couple hours ago.
Is there some particular reason Warners is going all in on Steve Urkel lately?
A Christmas special, airing Family Matters on Cartoon Network, a Scooby-Doo crossover. Why that show and right now after they've owned it for decades?

At a guess its now exactly the right age that people that grew up on the show are now old enough to be in charge and fond of it.
Apparently the upcoming special was written and produced by Wyatt Cynac, who I only know from the Daily Show, but is the exact same age as Jaleel White which means he would have been exactly the target audience when it started airing. (And as one of the three longest running black led sitcoms in history…)
But it didn't get a follow up twenty years sequel of "the kids have grown up and have their own kids now" to wash out the nostalgia like Boy Meets World or Full House or Roseanne did.
Or maybe with that Scooby Special Jaleel White finally made peace with the role and is actually willing to revisit it now, as long as he doesn't have to actually put on the outfit. (though in the Scooby Special his voice had aged and dropped way too much to actually do the role anymore, so it was weird.)
I know some other stuff from similar era is getting new attention now for no particular reason. Like Gargoyles is suddenly getting a ton of merchandise out of nowhere this last year, and there's absolutely no reason for it to be getting new action figures and a board game in 2021, but it is.
Or The Slayers getting a new translation of its original novels, even though the company doing it is otherwise only doing modern isekai series, it's the only old thing on the roster.... because obviously someone on staff was a fan and really wanted it to happen.
Or all the current crop of animated kids shows being run by folks in their 30s who grew up on modern anime and knew it as anime, and that completely affects their style and design choices.
On the new Cartoon Network Preschool block, they are airing Caillou. Which is a really bad show, which to a point that PBS had to banned several episodes of the series. Because some of the episode were teaching kids to have really bad tantrums.
Well off to a roaring start =_=. Yeesh Tickle U least had some original content.
I rather have Big Bag or Small World back then having to deal with Caillou.
I always thought the biggest problem with Caillou was that it was boring. I never knew he was such a horrible kid.
Is it more boring than Peppa Pig?

Kids are pretty much a crap shoot they can either be somewhat behaved and not terribly annoying. Or badly misbehaved and super annoying.
Granted this is a problem with adults but still.

Big Bag?! i haven't seen that show in ages.
So since it's 2021 I figured I'd give Sealab 2021 a rewatch.
For the most part, I think it still holds up pretty well…you know, if it's your style of humor. This was Adam Reed and Matt Thompson's first crack at a TV show and it's definitely zanier and more bizarre than Archer, but that's pretty much part of the Adult Swim brand.
And, of course, this series was marked by the unfortunate passing of Harry Goz, whose character was written out halfway through the show. Personally, I think Shanks was a fine enough replacement for Murphy and the show overall still stayed pretty strong. But yeah, it definitely felt like some of the magic was gone after that. Not to mention Erik Estrada became pretty touch-and-go around that time as well, appearing in maybe a third of the episodes of the last two seasons.
Still, fun show. Favorite episodes:
-Lost In Time
-The Policy
-Bizarro
-Tinfins
-ASHDTV
-Chalkboard Jungle
-Dearly Beloved Seed
-Let 'em Eat Corn
-Isla de Chupacabra
-Shrabster
Btw Villanous is out in HBO Max in some places.
The amount of CN cameos is Vilanos es ridicule.
Took me a minute to realize what was going on in that video.
Old joke, new twist.
It basically looks like what Aqua Teen is.
Honestly, it's just great to hear Shake and Carl again. Looking forward to it.
Good News everyone! Futurama reruns are coming back to Adult Swim on December 27th. Funny thing is now, there are new to Adult Swim episodes (Seasons 5 - 7).
Lol, well they had to get something to fill the hole now that they're losing all their other staples.
Well, if anyone ever wondered what ATHF would look like with an animation budget...
The new Aqua Teen movie looks it could be great.
This week schedule for Cartoon Network look great for the first time in years. Since they're be airing reruns of Adventure Time, Regular Show, Dexter's Lab, Ed, Edd, n Eddy, Courage, and Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. I know, its for the celebration of Cartoon Network 30th Anniversary. But I rather have reruns of these shows then nonstop reruns of Teen Titans Go.
I’d rather they get someone who understands you can’t just have a network schedule consist entirely of one or two shows not just throw up a bunch of old stuff like this is Boomerang.
Granted we’ll never get the CN of 1998-2012 back but still
Cartoon Network is doing a live stream on youtube celebrating the 30th anniversary. They are airing episodes of a lot the classic shows and plus they airing the classic promos (They already shown some of the City era bumpers.).
The only old bumper that truly matters is this one.
...well, maybe this one.
