Liked the pilot, this is weekly right? Same magazine as fire punch used to be in.
-
Yeah this one looks pretty amazing, and it got rave reviews from all these other bigshot mangaka.
Hoping Viz picks it up.
-
-
Looks good. Will try it out for a while.
-
I'm interested! A bit gory but I've gotten through worse…
-
Chapter 2 16 characters
-
Why do I get the feeling that more than half of those scumbags will die?
-
Yep, this is looking real good. Don´t want to jump the gun but it´s been a while since i was this engrossed by a new series.
-
Just read got done with the third chapter. It’s definitely holding my interest and having me wanting more!
Can’t wait for the next chapter. The latest chapter just seems like it was cut off at the end. The 1st two were like 60 pages. Was kinda of let down to how short the third one was. :(
Does anybody know the days it’s updated? Or is it just random day every week.
http://manga.fascans.com/manga/jigokuraku/3/1 (Chapter 3 for anyone interested.)
-
Was that supossed to be Benkei's counterpart?
-

You expect the author to write 60 pages on every week?
@Garps:

It updates every Monday in Japan.
-
It's 2018 and there are still people who thinks every chapter should have the same number of pages as the first one?

Isn't people should know by now that first 3 chapters are generally longer than normal chapters? Unless people think that all of Jump series' (including OP) chapters are 50 pages long.

Thank you for the info. I’m kinda new to manga. I only follow a couple besides one piece. I apologize for the lack of knowledge. I’ll try and refrain from dumb questions in the future :)
Seriously had no clue that 1st couple of chapters are loneger than the rest.

Lol it's fine. Ask whatever dumb question you want to.
In the first chapter the author needs to introduce the main character, his objective, a setting and usually some weak villain the MC can overpower to get reader excited about his powers or whatever (this one most typically in shonen). A childhood flashback is also recurrent. Everything while trying to get the readers' curiosity.
It's impossible to do all this in the typical 20 pages,so they get extra room in the first couple of chapters. If you see something with more than 20 pages, it's probably monthly.

Count me in on this series.

That is devilishly heavenly! Okay, bad pun. But it's amazing. I haven't been won over by a series as quickly as this one since at least Yakusoku no Neverland. And there haven't been many series before that that pulled it off. The characters and the setting have been incredible so far. Can't wait to read an official and free version! Who's translating it?

The same asshole doing My Hero Academia and Dr. Stone, I think. Doesn't make sense that he keeps getting so lucky.

Wait, you can access Viz? Wtf. Aren't you region locked or whatever that damn thing is?

Daaaaamn, dude, many congrats! That is awesome indeed!

Well… one may have access to certain... ways that circumvent those locks. It's not legal, but dammit, I'm paying to support the authors! It's better than pirating the series.
-
Aight, I think I know what you're talking about… I think...
I'll check some VPN services.
-
Shh, quiet, quiet. Don't tell anyone, but I'm using the hola! Chrome extension. :ninja:
-
I still get triggered with Spanish words because of Olivença (never forget), but I'll check that one out later. Thanks for the tip

Olivença é nossa, am I right? I'm not that patriotic but it's always good for some jokes, especially involving Salazarist propaganda. Still funny today.

Ooooh, good god, I just realized the Shueisha new manga service had Jigokuraku available: https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/#/titles/100040
And not only the first and last chapters, all of them! <3 Since VIZ only provides Jigokuraku on the region-locked browser version, not on app, I couldn't read it there, so this was a very pleasant surprise.
This manga is so damn good, along with Witch Hat Atelier and Land of Lustrous it is easily my favorite title in the last years, so I am really happy to finally be able to catch up with it after months. Also have to point out I felt like fanboying over CCC all the time because, man, the quality…
-
Dat was a hell of a read
-
I just realized that MangaPlus has differences between region.
In France, for that manga which is licenced here, you only get the first 3 and last 3 chapters. Also a link leads to Kaze's website who is the french publisher.
If I use a VPN to change my location, I can now see the rest of the chapters.
Interesting. -
I binged this over the weekend, highly enjoyable.
-
Thanks for sharing that link, I was wondering what happened to this series. It's also refreshing to have free official content that is actually available in my region.
-
it was a really comfy series to read. enjoyed it a lot!
-
Jikka was the hero we didn't knew he needed.
-
Totally agree. Really fun to follow, with a very focused and contained story. Fun, well rounded characters. Beautiful ending. Hope the author doesn't pull an epilogue like kimetsu no yaiba in the last chapter.
-
The author was Fujimoto's assistant. No chance of a KNY WSJ ending. (The volume one was miles better.)
-
The End:

Now we hope for a late hour slot for less censoring. -
HA! I called it! This ending was a bit too much like Kimetsu's magazine ending for my liking. I would have ended it perfectly nicely with last week's chapter. Buuuut, it wasn't a bunch of nonsense. It was just ok. Fine by me. Good job, can't wait for the next work!
-
One-shot sequel
https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/viewer/1016542 -
I liked this one-shot better than that epilogue "where are they now" chapter we got back when the series ended.
-
It was ok, but I would have liked to see the wife. It also felt like it tried to be a promotion for the manga/anime more than an epilogue, with the whole "1 person survived" which we know isn't true, a bunch of them did.
-
@El-Matematico the assumption I saw online, was that Gabimaru became immortal, and the events of this one-off happen after a long time.
-
I interpreted as him practicing his skills on the way home before meeting the wife. Since the bandits claimed to be returnees, the incident coulnd't have happened too much later than the story. Of course, the immortality stuff muddles the assumption, but the general public probably doesn't believe in the elixir so claiming you're from a troupe of immortals from a long time ago wouldn't be very effective, I think.
-

He said only one of the criminals survived, which is the version the executioners presented to the shogun. The others pretended to not have returned and live in hiding.

Just finished season 1 of the anime, this shit is trippy
