That’s fair. Her’s is pretty bad. It wasn’t for the special, but for the show it was rough.

I hope straw hat chase is dubbed.
-
I feel like they wouldn’t have “dubbed and subbed” options if the opening movie wasn’t dubbed. Idk. Here’s hoping. I’ll be very disappointed if I go to a theater and sit down and subbed starts playing.
-
Same, most of the reason I’m going. Strong world in theaters will be a nice novelty, but I own the film and I’m not a big enough fan of the theater to go there when I can watch the movie at home whenever. A movie Ive never seen with a new dub is more than enough reason for me to go, even if it’s only a 4th of the run time. I guess if it were subbed Ive still never seen it, and I’m willing to bet the official subs are gonna be infinitely better than whatever fan ones you can find, but you’re gonna have me pay for a theater ticket and mislead me with the language option? Kinda lame and almost predatory. Like if it isn’t dubbed at least specify it’s only the main feature somehow.
Presumably if it’s dubbed we’ll get dub credits, I just don’t know why or how that would happen. Granted I feel the same abt the show, but idk there’s like a longer dedicated credits crawl and it just feels a little extra evil if it’s a movie, or a “featurette”. My point is though that I doubt this will be highly documented, so I almost wonder if I should like try to sneak photos of the credits for the original characters in it. Cuz god knows I wouldn’t remember it, and there’s a chance nobody else will post them.

Whats everyone who’s going timezones btw? Just curious cuz, there’s a possibility I’ll be the first here to see it and that would be cool I think. 7pm here btw i’m not sure if the showing are different times in different theaters.
-
Being in the best time zone to see a movie is the weirdest flex I’ve ever seen.
-
Lol, I just meant like it would be kinda neat to be. the first to spread information. i think. if that makes sense.
-
McFarland is now simuldubbing Heike Story. Wonder if that means we’ll get more Bowling episodes than usual for the next few months.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
You’d think they’d advertise the showing as “the first time Mugiwara Chase has been dubbed” like they did with the specials.
-
I mean, it’s not the main feature, and they keep similarly advertising that it’s it’s premiere in the US.
Also, Mike already did AOT not too long, so I doubt this is much more different than then. Bowling seems to have the most episodes anyways.

Oh my goodness, my dream was right!!!
-
Holy crap this is huge!!!!!!!! Beyond hype!
-
We could possibly be in Wano by 2023…which the anime will still be there as well…could the dub be in the same arc as the current anime for the first time ever??
-
What a time to be a dub fan, we dun came along way yall I can't wait!! This is awesome
-
I’m so surprised and thrilled! Guess we’re full steam ahead!
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
October 5th to November 9th is such a fast turnaround. That's crazy. Maybe Anthony was working on Zou the whole time Mike was finishing up DR (wasn't it just Mike on the last few sets?). If so, that would explain how they were able to get ahead and might be able to release all of Zou in three months. Crazy.
Think we'll get another set this year? I'm optimistic, considering this last quick turnaround. Will be awesome to be in WCI by Feb.
-
Exciting news! Will Season 12 cover Whole Cake Island too?
-

That I doubt because WCI is way too long to be merged with something. This will have three voyages, if they're not doing WCI I think.

We got a December release last year didn’t we? The first Dressrosa set? It’s possible, I’d be willing to give them a break over the holidays, but even then we could be in Whole Cake by April.

Nope. On their website/streaming, S12 Zou is 36 episodes. Three sets.
S13 is like six or seven sets of WCI. I'm happy they broke it up. Nine voyages is a f***ing long season. Don't need another one of those–or longer.

Wano is already on track to have a larger episode count than Dressrosa, so…

S13 on their website looks like it would be 9 voyages too, unless they did more than 12 episodes per set, which I hope they do

Long, but at least I love that arc, whereas I've always counted DR in my lower three. For WCI, it's really just the first half of the arc that's okay. The second half is FIRE. Once we get into the second half, all the sets will be phenomenal–and then we'll hit Wano. :]]]
Have to wonder if they'll ever break up the season count with Wano. Might should've done it once the raid started; still can. They've gone back and edited their counts before.
Season four and five had a split when they moved locations for the final fight of W7/Enies, after all, so the split would have some precedent.
…
Just looked it up. 95 episodes. So sets of 12 or 13 will put it at 7 or 8 sets. Slightly better than DR, but also better content imo.

Yeah, early December last year. I doubt they'd do one in late-December. Most companies don't like to release in December at all; they wait until January when people have money from Christmas. Fingers crossed they stick to the one-month schedule next set too. If my guess that Anthony was getting ahead on Zou is right, it seems possible. (And while Anthony worked on Zou, I bet Mike finished DR and tackled the beginning of WCI).

95 for Whole Cake specifically, but Reverie is also part of season 13
-
On Tuesday, new voices we'll get are Inu, (I think) Neko, Carrot, Weevil & his mother, more Jack, Wanda, and (I think?) Pedro. Plenty of new voices will be fun!

Forgot about that. That'll be a good single set, though I remember the anime being rough for those.

Yes for Pedro, no for Neko
-
Reverie is 12 episodes so it’ll most likely be it’s own voyage. Then there’s the matter of the two episodes between that and actually landing on Wano. Will they throw those two onto the end of that set? Just one? Keep ‘em both for the first Wano set? They’ve got options.
-
I'd prefer for the new art style to kick off the new set, but I suppose I would've preferred for the new art style to start an episode or two earlier–considering the arc's beginning. Doesn't matter much what they do, I guess. We're still a year away from that, at least.
God, it feels good to fly through the sets though. Very thankful for the continuing speed up and no break as I feared.
-
Wow, expected to at least not get an announcement until the 1000 episode livestream, rad. Fyi season 14 starts at 892, so when they actually land on wano. Also from my count it’s been mostly Anthony, only real entirely Mike set was voyage 9.
This was a fast turnaround, but I wouldn’t expect perfect consistency I suspect we’ll probably have waits that are closer to 2 months still. But still great news, cuz it’s way less likely they’d have a break after zou than dressrosa, so there shouldn’t be any extended one before WCI either–- Update From New Post Merge ---
@Zek:
Oh my goodness, my dream was right!!!
-
Yeah, I thought we'd get an announcement during the livestream too. Maybe they'll have a different announcement during the stream? A man can dream.
But yeah, Mike dubbing voyage 9 makes sense. We probably won't see him have many episodes until WCI now. Bet he's working on that while Anthony's tackling Zou.
I'm in agreement now on doubting a big break between Zou and WCI. If they were going to take a break, it would've been here.
-
Little fun fact that probably nobody cares abt, but we’re about to be less than 100 episodes away from where the anime was when I caught up (853, I believe), and I just find that pretty neat.
-
About the livestream, my guess is Japanese and North American release date for the upcoming movie.
-
We don't even have confirmation a movie is in the works, I highly doubt they'd announce it in an english livestream, along with the dates for both countries.
-
Thats such a vague thing to register that I don't really think it confirms anything. Even if it did, again they wouldn't first officially announce it in an english live stream, at the same time as the dates.
Also yeah, wow! No idea what else it could mean, thats awesome! I'm uh, not sure if I can manage 3 theater visits in a month (I'm seeing the new MHA movie today, along with strong world on the 7th), but if I can I'd love to!
-
We do. This went up in May https://i.ibb.co/KyxXdD7/FB-IMG-1636057594287.jpg
Update: Episode 1000 in North American theaters?
Doubt it. We'd have listings by now. This is probably saying that they'll announce an OP movie during episode 1000's broadcast.
-
Its crazy that i was just coming in here to ask everyone do they have a guess on when the next batch will drop but man what a difference a year makes, can't believe after this set drops i am only 26 episodes away from hearing Reiju and the Vinsmokes in English.
-
You all agree the dub will never be cancelled at this point correct?
-
Roman Mack: NOT ME MAN! NOT ME!
-
I've mentioned this before but really want Kate Higgins to voice Reiju her C.C. voice is all I picture as fitting for as an English counterpart, Bryce Papenbrook for Yonji for sure and I'd like to see them get Yuri Lowenthal for Ichiji, since Sugiyama voices him Japanese would be funny to have Sasuke in both English and Jap, If they can swing it maybe Lex Lang for Niji his tone would match the Japanese voice

Let's not even speak it into existence lol but seriously I doubt that's even a fa tor at this point too far in now
-
To Roman’s credit, I think OP’s dub was cancelled for two years. The cast has said at points that they weren’t sure if it would come back. Sounds like it didn’t make financial sense for Funi to continue the dub. They probably told Toei that, but Toei wasn’t willing to let it end so they worked something out.
But now, nah. We good. OP only grows in popularity. Especially now that it was on Netflix. And once the live action comes, that’ll help too. So I don’t see it getting cancelled again or a significant hiatus. Especially not when they’re in spitting distance of catching up.
-
I wouldn't say it was canceled but I definitely believe there was a licensing limbo going on for sure during that time but them dark days are over lol
-
Zou, here we come!!!
-
Hoping that by March, we'll be in Whole Cake Island.
-
I told my friend (who I’ve mentioned before in this thread) about the announcement and he says “Yeah that makes sense, when I talked to Eric Vale at NYCC I said I missed Sanji and he said he was neck-deep in One Piece dubbing.” He only watches the dub so doesn’t interact with the fandom at all to avoid spoilers. Point is I wish he’d told me a couple weeks ago and that would have been nice to know.
-
Your links never work, Blake. There’s always an extra http
-
Fixed, annoying how it already has one, when logistically the link is probably gonna be copy pasted and you wouldn’t have to type it anyways.
-
I wonder if the two years they gave it allowed more time for it to get more popular, thereby increasing sales. I’ve always been curious to know sales figures for the sets—and compare them year to year.
-
Episode 751 is pretty much just gonna be east blue scenes redubbed for the billionth time, so mildly interesting I guess.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Perhaps I’m reading too much into things, but in this Ian looks like, noticeabley surprised when straw hat chase is mentioned.

Making me think that it is not going to be dubbed sadly

I took that as him just acting for fun. Like, “OMG! A bonus! You better buy it!”
