Wow! I totally overthought the last chapter. Glad we finally got a backstory on No. 6. Really surprised he was once human. It's scary to think what Ujiko can do to a living body.
As for Knuckleduster dying… I don't think he will. I think Koichi will show up, investigating where the gun shot came from. But, I don't see No. 6 fighting Koichi again. So either No. 6 is blown to bits or AFO calls the mission a failure and warps him out only to kill No. 6 himself.

Oh! I forgot Ujiko owned orphanages! Guess that explains where he got him.
Spinner is so hot right now.

a tool shiragaki thats what you are
I forgot to say this last week, but a little more foreshadowing for the USA top heroine would have been nice, then again since her first battle is against the final boss this may well be her "only" fight… Hopefully not, it would be a little lame to show up from nowhere and losing inmediantly.
Still, I liked the everything else, Spinner weirdly enough is a character I care about. Also, Tomura´s question at the end is weird, if he is truly on control again it makes me wonder why he is following AFO´s orders at all.
I really hope this is not Star and Stripe's only battle, she is way too cool to be a one-shot.
Well considering stealing One For All was his midgame and stealing Star and Stripe's quirk was the end of the game if he managed it, I don't think Star is going to lose. The way All For One describes her it seems her quirk just overpowers, or at least out-maneuvers (Mirio-esque) everything. I'd lean towards overpowering given her connection to All Might and her appearance. I'm guessing Shigaraki's destruction quirk won't work against her and if they fight in the air then he also can't destroy the ground to upset her footing.
Nagant's backstory as a Hero Comission hitman from vol. 32 extras:

[h=2]THE Lady Nagant[/h]Since I feel like Lady Nagant’s past will take up a whole volume by itself if I drew it in its entirety, I’ve cut it short by a lot.
The reason why Nagant didn’t get erased and instead got imprisoned was because of the Chairwoman’s (the middle-aged lady character’s) decision.
The previous chairman had always treated people as disposable assets even before Nagant came into the picture. At first, all he used were people from the underside of society, but the heroes committing crime increased and became organized. The techniques they use were only becoming cleverer, and their crimes swelled up to the point that the HSPC weren’t able to deal with them with only people from the underside of society.
And so, they turned to using people from public–heroes–so that they can freely move when going against other heroes. The Chairwoman, who disagreed with the Previous Chairman’s methods, ordered for Nagant to be imprisoned in Tartarus where there is no fear of information leaks. This way, she was able to prevent Nagant from getting executed and use her as an example to discourage disputes between heroes.
So, in order to prevent failures as with Lady Nagant’s incident from happening again, she zeroed in on Takami Keigo as her [[I]Nagant’s] successor, intending to educate, train him from an even younger age [[I]than Nagant] and have him fulfil his duty his whole life.
If I manage to safely finish serialization, I wanna draw a short titled “The Beautiful Lady Nagant ~The Brightest Star in the Cage~”. But I probably won’t. Why, you ask? Because I’m sleepy!

More Spinner. Nice. I can understand why some heteromophs are following Spinner given hero society pre-Liberation War wasn't all that great for some (or most?) of them. Why go back to that when Spinner propaganda promises a better world?
I'm just waiting for the heroes, especially heteromorph heroes, to address the issue.

Horikoshi? You do know your audience loves world building chapters, right? It's like he's forcing himself to stay on the fighty-fight shonen road (while delegating world building to My Hero Vigilantes, School Briefs, etc.) instead of exploring more of that world.
Also, confirmation the Chairwoman's dead. Wow!

No surprise on Hilary, Hawks even went "the bitch is dead" when he was out of hospital.
World Building? No can do. Gotta keep flashy fight after flashy fight or the audience will lose interest, can't be axed again I CAN'T, and more power ups and Deku gotta be the center of everything or else they might forget who is him.
I hope that Star and Stripes will have ability like Kizaru from One Piece - with control over shape of her body, being made out of element of sorts and giving her insane speed. Like Plasma quirk or something along those lines.
All in all surprisingly I am really hyped for fight of new character that currently seems to be strongest hero in My Hero Academia World and Shigaraki who most likely is most powerful Villain in this world. Cool stuff.
I expect her to do amazingly good against Shigaraki and this fight ending up with a draw. She also seems to have same arm protectors that All Might given Deku, so she very likely is a brawler of sorts.

Her quirk reminds me a lot of "You are an ant now" guy from Bleach.
It's amazing what a mutation of the gene responsible for your little toe can do.
It's no wonder AFO wants this quirk, and why the heroes would consider him the victor if he got it.
Shit's pretty damn broken.
Can we go back to the students and teachers recuperating?
Anybody else notice that when she uses her quirk there are stripes in the word bubbles? Classic.
Obviously Star's quirk is strong but she only ever uses half of it on other things. She always keeps the 2nd charge on herself and I would assume changes it depending on the situation, like giving herself super strength. I will admit it is a bit of a stretch though that she can use her quirk after touching the laser because she still requires the time to speak the rule. In the time it takes to speak that laser should be penetrating through her hand. I'd say the trick to beating her is acting faster than she can speak or stopping her from speaking. Of course, she could already have made a rule on herself that counters these 2 obvious weaknesses.
Also, the Star Wars references were pretty funny.
The handling of this new power is hilarious.
Cool chapter, hoping that Star doesn´t lose her quirk though, Tomura is already really damn strong as he is and she hasn´t been around that much to show it off.
Also, her power working on the air itself is kind of weird, does isn´t work if she uses the wrong term? Then again with these kind of powers is better to not think too deeply about them, it´s magic and that´s it.
No wonder Star looks so much like All Might. She pretty much turned herself into him. I hope she didn't lose her quirk but it's not looking good. At this rate, the final fight between Deku and Shiggy will destroy half the country no matter who wins.
When you expect there will be less HxH after last chapter, but Hori ramps it up instead!
The means of escape from her ability is very cheesy. "I'm not actually the person who you called out, even though when you spoke the name you clearly meant me, who you even touched."
It's not quite Kubo's "Did you think Espada go from 1 to 10? It's actually 0 to 9, lol." but it's close.

Lol. Yeah that's kind of a weird loophole. So anyone that changed their name can dodge it?
I'm guessing it's more "we are two people in one!" rather than just a different name.
Honestly how much more power up does he need, without this quirk he is basically unstoppable, to introduce a new hero and then trying to have her lose her quirk just add unnecessary drama. The villain is already OP
The villain is a greedy fucker, that's why.
I'm guessing it's more "we are two people in one!" rather than just a different name.
Yeah but she touched the motherfucker. That means the ability doesn't affect what was meant by the user, but what was vocalized.
And then that means the ability has something like an AI (for example) in it that gets confused when both parameters, as in, touching the object and uttering its name, don't quite compute so it just renders the whole move invalid. And how does the said AI even know Shigi is actually 2 persons? It's just silly when you try to deconstruct it.
It's like the ability is one of the worst type of commenters online, the hair splitting corrector, lol.
Pictured quirk: New Order
!
Yeah but she touched the motherfucker. That means the ability doesn't affect what was meant by the user, but what was vocalized.
I imagine its like if she touched a cat while believing its a dog or touching lemon juice and thinking its water. If she's wrong about what she think she's touching then it doesnt work.

But who decides whether she's right or wrong? Some supreme planetary collective consciousness?
For her ability to even work like that, it would have to be connected to something like a gigantic database with a supreme AI capable of making split second decisions in multiple different environments all across the world.
you would think with all her experience as a top superhero she would have actually faced agents or fake names before but guess that's somehow a first despite the fact that everyone literally uses villain names instead of real names.
Ohh can you imagine a king crimson type of battle for the end game instead of naruto jutsu bombs or dragon ball z clashes i'll be totally down for that even if this series logic completely spiral downwards
But who decides whether she's right or wrong? Some supreme planetary collective consciousness?

Maybe it's based more on her perception vs the targets perception (if they're sentient).
So when facing a sentient being it becomes a calculation.
Star faces a rubber pirate. She perceives him to be Monkey D. Luffy. He perceives himself to be Monkey D. Luffy. When they touch there's a mental match and her abilities activate.
If the rubber pirate is a fake however, say someone like Demaro Black, then there's no match and it fails.
It opens up for some cool downsides of an otherwise powerful ability. For example what if she meets someone who's been brainwashed to think they're someone else?
As for non-sentient beings, it could again be something like "Does my perception of what I'm touching match it's actual structure?". In that case she might be like Momo where she has to learn the composition of everything around her.
But the simpler answer is probably just that everything has an innate name and her quirk allows her to connect to that.
But who decides whether she's right or wrong? Some supreme planetary collective consciousness?
Wathever she touched isnt what she pictured. I imagine if you mention water you are thinking about something with the properties of water and trying to affect that. If the properties she imagine/associate with was she is trying to affect doesnt match the reality of what she touch it fails.

But who is watching it and deciding whether what she touched corresponds to what she pictured or not? Water is a simple enough example, but here we have a person that is Shigaraki, but also isn't quite Shigaraki, and in order for all this to make sense, there would have to exist a collective world consciousness that decides how Star's ability will behave at any given moment.
Of course, I may be jumping to conclusions, depending on what actually happens next, but I think the best thing that could happen to this manga is that Star dies and takes the ability with her.
While possibly throwing a wrench in AFO's plans by giving Shigi some kind of a lasting handicap.
I agree with Razh. From a meta perspective the quirk obviously needs some kind of restriction to it. But in-universe, for the type of ability it is, which is literally reality warping, it's pretty silly that it has those kind of rules/limitations to begin with.
I mean makes sense to me you have to know what properties you want to change. Otherwise why is the naming or touching even a thing.
It's true that it is dumb. An insane person could delude themselves into thinking that they are All Might but would that circumvent the ability? I mean the person really believes it so i guess naming them by their real name would not work.
As stated so far the quirk has two rules: 1) you can only have two active rules; 2) you must touch something and named it to apply a rule to it.
But what exactly - in itself - avoids the loop: I touch myself stating my name a add a new rule upon me: I can create an infinity number of rules following the constrictions of the quirk.
Would that work? Would it count as one slot?
New Vigilantes out
! I love this cast.
Great chapter indeed.
Very happy it was both Soga and Koichi saving Knuckleduster. And Mr. Offense VS Mr. Defense comes to a fitting conclusion with No. 6 blowing himself up, but I doubt he's dead. And that explosion was bound to catch the heroes attention. AFO will have to get Kurogiri to warp No. 6 away.
typical american hero
! Nuking away its problems.
I really like her quirk though.
Its incredibly unique.
But lol yeah, giant ethereal lady being more ineffective than nukes is absolutely hilarious
Holy shit I was actually on the right track with her quirk being perception-based and differing between sentient/non-sentient targets.
Really nice chapter, still wish we'd keep to the kids and teachers but at least Stripes is delivering some quality muscles.
I continue to love Hori's constant shoutouts to Star Wars.
Saw the new MHA movies. It's fine, but probably the weakest of the movies so far.
! The movie mainly focuses on Deku and the one-off movie character (even becoming kind of a road movie at one point) and the two kind of develop a serious bromance. Like, I wouldn't surprised if people wrote a good number of fanfics after this.
! Naturally, Bakugo and Todoroki get a decent amount of screen time and their own dedicated fights, but not much beyond that. The rest of Class A make appearances, but they don't really do anything. Just there for eye candy. I mean, I know Baku and Todo are the safe bet and these movies need to make money, but would it kill them to just take a chance on some of the less popular characters and give them some fights?
! The villains are okay. They're basically the Meta Liberation Army except with kind of the opposite philosophy (the even have a manifesto like the MLA). The main villain does have a cool design, but there isn't too much to his character. And it really felt like they were building up the arrow girl for a big fight, but then they just kill her off half way. Instead Baku and Todo just fight two random ass villains.
! One thing I'll say though is that this movie definitely feels fast. It's a pretty standard 1 hour 45 minutes runtime, but it feels more like a 45 minute TV special. So if you're not super into it, at least it'll go by quickly.
! So yeah, it's a nice enough time for MHA fans. But if you're not super interested, then I'd say you can safely skip it and just watch on DVD/streaming if you want.
So with whats happening with Shigaraki and with us being shown what happened to Nagant I assume there is no traitor in UA?
I mean perhaps one of characters was given quirk as a child by AFO and his counciousness just keeps second passęnger AFO that is mentally Linked to real AFO?
Does that make any sense?
World Heroes Mission may have been better than the entirety of season 5. Surprisingly fun movie; perhaps my favorite of the bunch.
Saw World Heroes Mission and man. That was not a fun time
! I think a lot of my issues are the same as Nobodyman's. As soon as I saw that 90% of the cast were gonna be basically cameos I just lost interest. Although I think if I liked Bakugo, Deku and Todoroki I'd have ate this one up like Ice Cream. But they're not and I was pretty annoyed that the movie poster promised the likes of FatGum and the Dragon Hero only to not even do anything with them. Considering the first movie focused on about 10 kids while the second movie focused on everyone, I was expecting this to be reigned in and focus on a select amount of characters. Especially when some of these sorely need some screentime.
! I was bored through a lot of the movie, especially the first hour or so which actually I felt dragged on. I went for the toilet what I thought was mid-way through the movie but still dragged on for a good half hour before starting to wrap things up. Although I did get to see the musical piece which IMO was the highlight of the movie.
! Arrow Girl was probably the highlight. Although I was kinda amused that Deku said she looked like a villain when she dressed pretty much like the heroes did. Reminds me of the whole Piccolo thing. I think I would have had more investment in the villains if they went more into the whole 'We don't have quirks' thing. I mean. They had scientists developing anti-quirk stuff. We know there's anti-quirk stuff in the manga. So why did all of the fights include people who have quirks?
! Also the Stealth Suit thing really felt like it was just there to sell merch. I was expecting there to be a whole big thing as to why they're using it and how they need this to take on the villains but nope. You get 10 minutes at the start and that's it.
