As much as some people expect the monster trio of Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji to handle the majority of the fighting in each arc, I don’t want it to come to the situation where they’re just relied upon all the time as if the rest of the crew is far less reliable and that their fighting skills aren’t of much value by comparison. With how even the monster trio can also run out of stamina and not be able to everything themselves, I think it would still be reasonable for the others to at least strengthen themselves up in addition to their occupations so as to better support each other when they really need it. Were any approaches you guys had in mind? I was thinking of Haki in particular, like Chopper with Arnament Haki for example.
How the non-monster trio straw hats can improve their fighting skills.

Get armament and observation haki. All of them.
Besides that it's up to each of them, tyhey need to keep improving on the things they are already good at.
-
Its pretty obvious that they all should get different types of haki. Despite what some may say its not at all less creative given you'd be adding haki to the experimenting of each strawhat. Look what's Luffy has been able to do.
I'd say specifically Usopp, Chopper, Brook, and Robin. Yeah Chopper could use more science but what's the point if he dies young?
-
Rather a shame that after all this time, Chopper has come to the point that he’s admitting that none of his attacks are working, in light of wanting to back-up Luffy. Wonder what approaches he’ll take after this.

My guesses:
-
Nami: Zeus will amp her power. I also feel we will see upgrades to her cold and hot abilities later on, probably after Vegapunk arc. I imagine her creating small blizzards or tornados. Her big arc: Post-Elbaf, on the way to Laugh Tale.
-
Usopp: Will develop his haki further both in Wano and in Elbaf. Also increase his arsenal during Vegapunk arc. His big arc: Elbaf
-
Chopper: Will improve his forms, each becoming way more powerful. We will see either better or new transformations. Also will improve the rumble ball at a later point. His big arc: Vegapunk's. Will learn how to manipulate his own Lineage Factor
-
Franky: Will improve his body and the Shogun. His big arc: Vegapunk's. Will learn new tech.
-
Robin: I have no idea, lol. I guess we need to see her fight with Black Maria first. Anyway, I think her big arc will be Mary Geoise, when she will learn secrets of the WG and we will learn more of her story with the Revolutionaries, as well as the return of Spandam and Spandine.
-
Brook: Will learn haki, especially armament, as well as show new icy and soul techniques. I have no idea which arc will be his big one, maybe the same as Nami's?
-
Jinbe: I don't know if he will get any improvements, he seems like a powerful enough character and has just joined. But I think his big arc will be Mary Geoise as well, with slavery and the Celestial Dragons being a thing there.
For anyone wondering, I think next arcs will be: Mary Geoise -> Vegapunk -> Elbaf -> Endgame
-
-
Nami: Will get better at illusions, and be able to copy other people and objects. Maybe Observation as well.
Robin: Will create giant clones, maybe giant clones with wings. Also, Ardament.
Franky: Seastone?

By getting the screentime they deserve. :getlost:

I think they should conveniently find strong people who really like them who can fight enemies on their behalf. They should make sure to get a tiny little appearance if they meet an enemy even one level above them, just to make sure they get some EXP, then they should curl up into fetal positions and repeat the mantra "Let someone else do what you can't do. Just do support. No shame in that. Let someone else do what you can't do. No shame in losing to Van Oger, he's a yonko commander, just do support" while someone stronger depletes the bulk of the enemys HP. Then show up for the post elite 4 photo shoot in the end.
-
Franky - he can easily get stronger, with new tech and weapons and stuff. Oda is creative enough to always find new/surprising weapons for Franky. I also think it would be cool if he made some drones.
Usopp - Usopp is a little different than the others because he doesn't really need upgrades to keep winning, he just needs to keep getting farce-ibly lucky and continue outsmarting his enemies. I do think his Kabuto might "eat" a Devil Fruit at some point (ideally a stag beetle, of course!) and I assume we will see more of his Observation Haki! When he goes up against Van Augur, my guess is he will win by being able to take sniper shots without falling, taking time to line up his shot.
Robin - I would LOVE to see Armament Haki for her, but I think its more likely she will continue mastery of her Devil Fruit, spawning more and more bodies (kinda like shadow clones, I guess), taking on a "giant"-form, and stuff like that. She doesn't fight much, really, so I'm not sure she needs to get stronger, actually, because her role as the archaeologist is so, so integral to the story (and her ability to gather information too). If we pit the Straw Hats against the Blackbeard Pirates, I imagine her enemy would be the mysterious "Tenth" Titanic Captain aka Kuzan who, obviously, wouldn't actually seriously fight her.
Brook - He is already quite strong. I guess we'll see more of his musical abilities, perhaps he will be able to wield ice in a more powerful way? I am still expecting to see him control the Numbers in Onigashima, at some point…
-
Franky
- sea stone Brass knuckles
-nuclear bomb (like the one he detonated, just more powerful)
-and eventually he'll turn the entire Sunny into Mecha transformer.
Brook
-some haki- he'll be able to possess people if he overpowers their will power, and control their bodies
Robin
- armament haki, and she'll be able to manifest her hands inside other people and attack their organs directly.
Chopper
-He'll be able to use moves like arm pointo, defense pointo and jump pointo while in monster point.Usopp
- he'll perfect his observation haki
- he'll use sea stone pikado darts to hit paralyzing pressure point of his opponents, from insane distance.
- his Kabuto will eat the DF, which will allow it to store anything insade of it, and spit it out when needed.
Nami
Nami will perfect her illusions
Will be able to produce island busting lightnings
And she'll be able to control the weather on the scale of a large county. - sea stone Brass knuckles
-
Why Usopp should better his Observation Haki.
-
Observation haki requires being calm.
The opposite of Usopp in a battle.
-
Haki is the only thing that should have been required for the non monster-trio straw hats to learn post-ts. The point of the timeskip was to level up and it felt that they truly had after FI. I think Brook and Franky have been pretty great post-ts as far as showing off how they've improved themselves. Nami and Chopper have probably been the worst. Usopp is somewhere in the middle and we definitely haven't seen enough of Sanji's 99 recipes or improved anger capabilities.
-
Chopper could at least learn basic armament haki
Nami definitely should be able to use observation haki, that's how she can tell a shift in the weather before it even happens. -
