While I still don't believe his old estimate of five years (that he said over a year ago now) so that the series is done in 2024, I do legit think finishing by the 30th anniversary in 2027 is a real possibility, especially if he keeps cutting action corners like he has been.
Really, he COULD be done in 2024 if he wanted but I think we can all agree that'd be shortchanging things a little bit. And he sort of cheated his 5 year estimate in the SBS by making it five years from that point as opposed to when he first said it, which pushes it to 2025.. and that really is SO close to the 30th…
Given that Oda keeps saying it though, maybe we need to believe his timetables a little more than we have in the past. He's trying a lot harder to get it all done than he used to and has targets to hit within a certain time, no more side trips.

Didn't the animators say they are adding Oda approved canon content to the Oden flashback? I mean if that's the case I am sure Oda will do that for certain scenes in the future that will help speed things along.

To the people watching JF, hello!! It really has been a tough year, I believe there're many people strongly affected by the corona virus. I want to give a round of applause to the many workers in the industry who are still bringing spirit to everyone in a wild situation such as now, that's how this year has been.
On Jump, Demon Slayer was amazing. It saved many people emotionally and brought them joy, really impressive. That's how manga should be, I was somehow moved as well!
Now, let's talk about OP stage in JF! One piece is soon reaching chapter 1000!! By the time this message is read, I'll have already finished chapter 1000 and be on my way to meeting the cast…or that's what would've happened! Now I can't go, what a shame...

Its also strange that's the only one thing Oda felt confident enough to talk about.
So maybe, it could be telling us that Wano will be 5 Acts, and he felt so confident because we're getting the intermission between acts 3–->4 right after chapter 1000/1001.
So we will actually see it happening this time.

We still haven't seen anything about them, perhaps it will happen this year when act 3 finishes.

Lots of stories, movies especially, have three act structure, with the action climax being the longest part.
I mean yeah sure, it could break next week after chapter 1000, but its not really an assumption to hinge big guesses on.

Oda had planned to show us what was going on in the outside world which means that there was going to be an end to act 3 and intermission chapter (or two) based on his comments from the last jump festa. I highly doubt he thought Wano was going to end this year when he said that.

I can see that arc ends in 2021. That's like 3 volumes minimum worth of content (even with breaks) and the battles are about to start.
Even if we get a few chapters of Kaidou/Yamato flashback in there I still think it can be over in less than a year.
So, I wouldn't say it means an intermission is coming soon but more likely I think we'll get news of the world after the arc is over by the last quarter of next year.
As for what Shanks will do, I think it's too soon for the battle against Blackbeard so my random prediction is him meeting Dragon about whatever happened in MaryGeoise.

Wano predictions: There will be 5 acts; All Straw Hats will get fights, some in Act 4; Big Mom Pirates will arrive; Carrot will have her moment, but won't join; Yamato will be a Kouzuki samurai and Wano's Guardian; Shanks will visit Luffy in Act 5; Next arc is Mary Geoise.

It's funny because shanks would be the one most suited to fight BB since everyone else would get their fruit power canceled by the darkness, and if he is anything like mihawk, he can long range air slash spam BB, maybe even cut him in half. But I guess that luffy's rubber no mi is the only one that can counter quake no mi.

I doubt he'll come meet Luffy willingly, even during the war he didn't; cause that would break their promise. Also even Garp isn't willing to go help Luffy in Wano and thinks the 2 Emperors teaming up is interesting and fun.

Shanks didn't meet Luffy in the war because it was too early. The promise was for Luffy to hand him back the hat when he was a great pirate. I think beating two Yonko meets the critteria.
Besides, Shanks himself said the time for their meeting was nearing when he saw Luffy's 1.5 Billion bounty.
I don't think Luffy will ever get the chance to give the hat, but I do feel Shanks and Luffy will meet once before Shanks is ultimately defeated by Blackbeard. Wano epilogue is the perfect moment for that.
What I think will happen is that Shanks will come to issue a challenge. Something like: "Come defeat us in Elbaf, and I'll accept the hat and give you the last Poneglyph in return."
But then Luffy will find out about Hancock, Sabo and/or Vivi and take a detour, giving Blackbeard time to move. When the story goes back to challenging Shanks, he will already be defeated.
