@Johnny:
So, does no one actually use Superman as an actual hero anymore, FFS?
You mean aside from the comics, tv shows, movies, & games (largely awful) that traditionally portray him as a hero?

There doesn't seem to be as much of that anymore. And if he's the villain, it's always god-damn Batman who is the hero who opposes him, too.
I remember that there are people here who likes Suikoden, so I guess this is some sort of good news for them.

Well we know in this particular case Superman is either being controlled by Braniac orlike the Superman ending of Injustice 2 he's using Brainiac's powers.
Yeah, i'm not certain, but it most likely is Brainiac controlling him. I don't see Superman's eye color being that way and he's not under some influence.
I expected us to see the three dots to indicate Brainiac's control over him pop up on his forehead but we didn't, so that was a little disappointing.
There's not enough plot in Shenmue 1 to fill 13 episodes.

To be fair they made 3 seasons out of Castlevania, and most of the story had little to do with the games I think
they can always just make up new story arcs and characters to fill space
I'm still waiting for the devil may cry anime
There was a DMC anime in 2007.
There was a DMC anime in 2007.
I heard about that, is it any good?
The one I was talking about was supposed to be worked on by the guys who made the Castelvania animated series, in a shared multiverse I heard

There's not enough Shenmue plot to fill a trio of games but….
Hey, they could spend all of one episode looking for sailors at the pier. :ninja:
They're going to spend an entire episode on Ryo trying to get that stupid pool trick shot.
Can't wait to see the arc where he masters Space Harrier.
Looks like Avengers video game is getting so so reviews
If it's anything like typical service games it's first two years or so are going to be rough.
Sure hope this isn't a spot for spot remake of the original game, already easy to tell they're utilizing the original game's combat system which was rather boring animation wise and somewhat tedious.
I really liked the combat from the two first games . Can't say about the third because I never had the will to play for some reason, but a Warrior Within was one of the best game experiences I had in the PS2.

Man of culture .
I thought there might be talk of the Xbox news, but then again, I have no interest in buying one myself. Anyway, I thought this comment about the reveal of the Series S from some Japanese gamer was funny: "In Japan, 0.1 percent of gamers purchased the Xbox and its successors. The only people [in Japan] with these consoles are very smelly and not cool. Who is going to buy these?"
I have fond memories of Warrior Within, mainly because of the refined combat system and the cool enemy designs. Not sure about Sands of Time.

Interesting. I absolutely loved Sands of Time; I think everyone agrees the combat was a bit barebones but I thought the battles were still quite fun (and often challenging), and every other aspect was just spot on from the environments to the pacing to the secrets to the clever narrative.
So Warrior Within was a no-brainer insta-buy when it released and… I thought it was the biggest pile of crap ever. I could not finish it. And I'm not the type of person who doesn't finish games. The platforming felt terrible which is pretty bad for a platformer, and one that requires incredibly precise movement. I remember especially hating vine swinging, because the "hit boxes" for them were awful, and coupled with terrible camera, I spent half my time jumping through them and falling to my death. I think I also recall being frustrated at not knowing which walls I could actually run across, but it's been a pretty long time.
In general I do think Warrior Within was a critical flop. But hey maybe if they do well remaking the game people actually like, they can also go fix the one that people hated.
I bought Sands of Time because it was getting rave reviews but didn't enjoy it all that much. I bought KOTOR at the same time and enjoyed it much more.

Oh yeah, the camera was at times unbearably awful. I remember one jump in particular that made my life hell even though it had no enemies, no tricks, just the shitty camera.
I think I enjoyed WW more because I got lost in it. Both in the sense that I had no idea where to go and just running around and taking in my surroundings. The story didn't really interest me and if I remember correctly, its events can basically be ignored in the grand scheme of things when it comes to the trilogy.
SoT had a more streamlined story and a sense of actually going somewhere. The only thing I can remember from WW is a bunch of women in less than practical clothing, the Dahaka, and the prince saving himself through timetravel shenanigans as a shade (?).
Bear in mind, everything I wrote is from remembering games I played a decade ago so take it with a grain of salt. I also have minimal desire to actually revisit the series at the moment.
I'll probably play the remake for nostalgia's sake. As for WW, I really loved the Dahaka, at least conceptually. But due to the platforming issues, all of the sequences where you have to run away from him were torture. IIRC you couldn't even rewind time for those.

I also liked the different swords WW introduced but again, my memory is a bit hazy.

I'll admit the wallrunning you have to sometimes due with the Camera focused on Dahaka is….not fun.

Two Thrones needs the fix far more than WW.
Guess it takes more balls to remake a heavily flawed game than spruce up a beloved one.
I mean they are remaking Sands Of Time after all which has the best of both worlds.
Speaking of remakes, I've recently saw that Kingdoms of Amalur got one too. I adored that game although I haven't been able to get into it lately.
The reviews of Steam are mixed.
Kingdoms of Amalur cannot possibly live up to the insane story behind how it got made.

Neither will Curt Schilling when it comes to getting out of the debt he put himself in.

What is the story?
The studio convinced the state of Rhode Island to give them a loan of 75 million, under the pretense they'd create jobs (450) and bring business to the state yadda-yadda.
Game bombed, studio got shuttered, investigations got launched, lawsuits got filed.

A fucking disaster basically
Kinda sad, because I do think the game had potential. It still looks very nice and I enjoyed the combat and the amount of variety the different builds allowed. Finesse/Magic combo was hella fun. Chakrams rocked.
The story, well, nothing incredibly from what I can remember, but I thoroughly enjoyed some of the questlines and NPCs.

Lol I just watched this, and there's like 5 games from Arc System works
Arc System Works must make a lot of money, since every time I watch a top fighting game list on Youtube they have like 5 or 6 entries from different games of there's
Why has no one ever tried to do what the Avengers did for cinema to video games? make 4 to 5 characters who have there own game and own story that all exist in the same world and then have them all team up to face a mutual threat
and I consider that concept very different from crossover video games like Smash

That honestly would be extremely cool! I very much buy it! o:

That's what I thought! But there's gotta be some sort of reason it hasn't happened yet as I highly doubt I'm the only one who has thought of it
It probably has something to do with how long it takes to develop a triple A games, combined with the risks involved in making several games at one time when you don't know if any of them would be a financial success or something

It would be a great play for Sony if they got their studios to all develop games like that apart from their main series, but it would be difficult..

Yeah, probably, though Marvel/Disney should have no problem finding the teams to make them. Though it's important to know if it be successful or not too, so I get it. x.x

Kingdom Hearts is very close to this description.

Sony and Disney are definitely capable of doing this, but it would be a big risk…... then again the Avengers movie that inspired the entire idea was considered a huge risk at the time, that many people thought might flop, so it's not like it's impossible
Kingdom Hearts is very close to this description.
Kind of different from what I was thinking, I mean that's only one series with one main character who goes to different worlds, where as I'm talking about a group of characters each getting there own individual standalone games that come together
Darksiders series comes pretty close if they ever finish the series.
That's exactly what they were going for! Thank you I completely forgot about that!
still they never actually finished it by having all four come together in one game, so they still haven't completed it
but good point

Yeah, honestly they should just give it a go, I think it be successful, plus you can expand the story more compared to if it was just a movie.
