Buuhan. At least do this once in a while:
- Disconnect your Internet connection.
- Turn off McAfee.
- Run the full anti-virus check with whatever AV software you use now.
- Run any other virus removal program.
- Turn on McAfee.
- Connect to the Internet.
My field is not security related, so I'm not sure how AV softwares conflict each other, but better be safe to run each instance separately, I think.
Better yet, why don't you go buy a new version of AV software? I visited my local electronic store, and they had the newest Norton Anti-virus for free after rebate.
By the way, firewall softwares does get out of date, too, and the chances are, most of the newer virus already sneaked into your computer and/or hackers know how to go around your firewall.
