Do the Nidai Kitetsu and Sandai Kitetsu have the exact same design, or is it that Zoro's Sandai Kitetsu looks less flamey due to being farther away?:
Chapter 913: Tsuru Repays the Favor

ok so, so seeing the Supernovas doing this kind of improvements makes me wonder, is Drake still a meh Little Garden sized dinosaur or capable of doing some Godzilla shit?
-
I´m very glad how the skirmish played out. I was honestly worried something bad would happen due to a hax DF suprise, like making Luffy fight Zoro or them being caught off guard in a shameful way.
Zoro going for the instant kill was great to see. Of course this is against an oponent that has multiple lives, but it was still great and in-character.
Luffy´s lie and the sword-holding punch was hilarious and the lizard throw was neat.
Hawkins is an inferior fighter to both Luffy and Zoro at this point in the story in my opinion, but he´s no pushover and we got a glimpse of his power. It sure is an unusual fighting style with those cards. Strawman reminds me of Daifuku´s genie.
I actually think that retribution card effect may have returned the earlier damage from Zoro, that´s why he struggled to block the swing. The whole fighting sequence was satisfactory for me and a solid get-to-know-eachother-clash.
I´m liking the quick pace of this arc so far.

Can't recall if Zoans work that way. I don't think that any of Chopper's forms got much bigger after the timeskip, but I could be misremembering.
-
man. I don't know. everyone here seems to be incredibly hyped for Wano, and ever after 4 chapters i'm like… we left whole cake and reverie for this?
my biggest high of this chapter was me reading the title and thinking the original tsuru would be back. alas, I just guess this arc needs its time to set the pieces
@.access:
My feeling too, but it can't be helped. Even though a lot of people complain about the pursuit part of WCI taking too long, the truth is since the wedding that arc was a very long climax. And as soon as it ended we were thrown into a heavy plot mini-arc that was Reverie.
It is expected the start of a long arc won't feel as gratifying since it comes after a long streak of action+plot, but to be fair it is pretty fast paced for the start of an arc - have in mind we are just 3 chapters in.
Same. IMO the issue is that none of the Wano-specific characters are very interesting (yet). Which is a problem since the story of the last few chapters isn't about really taking down Kaidou as much as it is helping Tama.
-
I am enjoying how these arcs are taking time to reintroduce a few of the other supernovas.
Overall decent chapter.
-
Starting to really like Zoro again. First his child-like reaction towards seeing Luffy, now the WTF face at the discarded scabbard. Seems this is shaping up to be Zoro's arc after all.

Were the dinosaurs back there that small?

Heavy Point is definetly bigger, but it could be part of some artificial modification he made. See Horn Point.
-
This was a very solid chapter, nice zoro and luffy interactions
Glad oda had them escape to help tama instead of letting the fight end, this way we dont see hawkins look like a chump and the two strongest arent taken out of the arc or captured for a while. -
Did anyone notice that we have 2 O-Tsuru now? Vice-admiral O-Tsuru and this new one. I don't know if they are genuinely related
-
The reverie must have messed with me, I have not been able to enjoy any chapter since we got to wano.
-
Did anyone notice that we have 2 O-Tsuru now? Vice-admiral O-Tsuru and this new one. I don't know if they are genuinely related
I was wondering the same thing too. I think it's just a coincidence though. I don't see how them being related would affect the story in any way, so why would Oda bother?
-
Man Hawkins powers are super weird but are interesting wonder how you end up becoming 1 of his dolls?
-

Wasn't the VA admiral called O-Tsuru or just Tsuru? Because O-Tsuru because of a Japanese Folklore. The VA is named after the Crane.
-
So in a narrative context, it wouldn't a difference.
You mean that thing that everyone cries rivers about every time oda does it?
-

Technically, both are called Tsuru. The "O" is a old Japanese honorific for women. I believe Momonosuke calling Nami "O-Nami" once.
And yes, the VA was also called O-Tsuru at least once.

the German version will probably be unaffected, because ViceadmiralTsuru in German is Vizeadmiral Kranich, while she will most likely still be O-Tsuru due to Japanism

Is kranich the German word for Crane?

Out of curiosity, do they call the Fleet Admiral "Großadmiral" then?
-
all supernovas doing massive stuff, just cant wait for Kid to take control of this arc.
-
Power ranger Sanji vs T rex zord XDrake should be good next chapter. They are also both from North blue and both connected to WG( sanji's family former royals and xdrake as former rear admiral).

Yes they do. 16 chars

Few things caught my eye.
1. Hawkins mentioning that there is 19% chance for them to be alive after end of month. I wonder if it's just a throwaway line or a set up for something actual happening with SHs before end of the month. Maybe someone will catch an incurable illness or something similiar. Just throwing odds for survival isn't much of revelance considering that this is shounen where protagonists are guaranteed to survive, I think there has to be some alternative story purpose to that prediction. Maybe it's setup for Chopper to discover miracle cure?2. https://www.mangasail.co/sites/default/files/manga/4/198480//20180803024923454.png
Man top left gets his throat cut by the cursed blade, along with his katana. Rip. Luffy kills.3. https://www.mangasail.co/sites/default/files/manga/10/198480//20180803024923215.png
Is it Luffy exercising his future sight here? He aks "game?" before Hawkins starts doing his cards thing. Otherwise this panel is kinda weird. -
Honestly, 19% of survival is probably way higher than they had during WCI
-

I also recorded and uploaded few videos some years ago but with number of "reviewers" I seen no point so I wonder what keeps you at that ?
-

Ironically that number would only rise with them having to face two Yonkous instead of just one, because all the friction it will cause between the two

Ehhh I just like to do it. Its also good for just getting used to speaking in front of a camera. I dont expect to get a ton of subscribers anyway but If I want to do another thing on YT its good experience since I tend to talk much more fluidly with others than by myself. When I get actual equipment I might make a secondary channel used for mostly analysis and maybe podcasting about the episodes with friends because Imo thats a lot more entertaining

wait , why do you need to use second channel? Why not just use your main account ?

Sanji one shots Sheepshead, who is a headliner.
Zoro takes an L to some nails from Wakins.Sanji > Zoro confirmed.

Zoro didn't "lose" at all. No one won, they just escaped because the magic tiger was running away. And in the end, he killed Hawkins twice
Also, I doubt that "headliner" is a power-level of anything
-
Long time since I wrote my last post… but wano arc deserves it.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I think this arc has the essence of the past, or at least that's the way it is for me. It has been too long since we heard from Wa and see how it all starts feels nostalgic.
Regards...

It's just banter, is not meant to take seriously.

I agree, I wasn't a fan of stoic post time skip Zoro, he finally shows some emotions

Zoro has smiled and such:
But yeah, despite those moments, he still comes across to me as stoic for some reason.

It's really more of a "post-Mihawk" thing, in my opinion.
Zoro's been leaning stoic ever since getting cut down at Baratie - it may simply be more noticeable because he hasn't really had a challenge since reaching the New World, whereas he had multiple difficult fights back in Paradise.
-
Fun chapter. Hawkins' powers might be complicated as hell but they're definitely portrayed very well and they're a delight to see - except for the cards, which so far are just making things feel unnecessarily multilayered.

Yeah, Zoro laughed out loud with a big hearty laugh when Luffy showed him the small boat at Shells Town and when he first met Usopp, but it he definitely got more serious after losing to Mihawk.

Hes cards were always there. Why wouldnt he have other ones?

Even if there are a number of reviewers, it doesn't mean anything.

I think that the cards add to the fun, like you mentioned. It's amusing how part of his fighting style relies on the cards, and that he has to include bad cards so that he can draw better ones.

3/4 of those are arrogant asshole smirks, though. Those don't count.

anyone got that big imgur compilation album of like every time zoro smiled even the tiniest bit post-timeskip. it was reaching, but I was impressed with the effort
-
Sooo why were Luffy and zoro just ducking around that whole “fight”? Seems like they’re both stronger than Hawkins especially with how random his power is
-

I think they were more focused in trying to get out of there to cure Tama's fever than anything else. Even the dog agreed.

Wooooooooooooosh.
I like Hawkins' power and I'd love it if to draw what move he'll make Oda threw a dice or something to make it completely random.
-
Hawkins is going to join Luffy for sure. I imagine one scene where Kaidou destroys Luffy strawhat and Basil creates a new one for him with his power.
-
I'm more curious to know if the straw straw fruit has any connection to luffy's straw hat or Im straw hat.
