@AvocadoInTheRain:
I read all the conversation before and it was the shittiest argument I've ever heard of. The only diference in portrayal between the lookout and helmsman roles is that a single character was introduced as such. That's it. That's literally the only diference, and anti-Carrot people are clinging on to that in the vain hope that it would counteract the obnoxious amount of time Carrot has been the lookout.
Lookout position doesn't exist.
If it does, then please post a picture of it where it is officially recognized, or if the SH's ever asked for it/needed it.
Otherwise stop wasting time here with this shitty argument when it has been destroyed left and right with you failing to even comprehend what everyone has already stated for the billionth time, or downright ignoring facts in order to play along with your fantasy. It ain't happening.
So please stop pretending that this is some sort of new groundbreaking stuff here when you can pull up the exact same arguments 500 pages ago, but with only a different character that didn't join.
You are seriously making AGOG seems like an actual competent person in comparison.

Robin was the second in command of the enemy army, obviously she an intriguing design. But it was no the "OMG! SH!!! I JUST SAW A SH!" reaction that people are trying to make it sound like every SH design produces. Chopper eventually, but not at first, at first we saw him as a regular reindeer following Kureha, after that we found out he had other forms, including his most common short one, and could speak, but not at first glance (and I'm pretty sure some people would argue Carrot gave off that "certain SH" feeling at the Sulong chapter, so that's subjective).
There were already theories about Robin being an unusual character with the way she was drawn, and the way she interacted with Luffy and even saved him.
Clues were there from the beginning.
Also really? Do i really need to explain Chopper here? He was the first humanoid reindeer who ate a devil fruit in the entire series. That alone gave him the edge for joining the crew, and the more he interacted with the crew, and spend time with them, along with the fact that Kureha already hinted at his backstory, was enough to see that he will join the crew.
These things aren't subjective. Oda didn't just create them, and then decided to introduce as the main protag at the last second. Even as someone who didn't pay attention or observe Oda's pattern until much later, it was very obvious that Chopper, and Robin would join just based on how they were drawn and presented.
Carrot would have had a chance had she been the first humanoid creature in the series, but she wasn't.
