Would love it if one at a time it's a whole 40 pages rather than the usual 16-18, even that it takes two weeks for that. Sure would amount a huge amount of info in it.
Chapter 903: The Fifth Emperor

-
Wouldn't be calling it god damn goldenweek if you were holidaying or getting time off work in Japan.
-
people need to stop swearing about goldenweek
she is imo one of the cooler baroque works officer agents
-
lmao ^^
I'm not against holidays from work at all. Just sucks about no chapter. I have nothing to look forward to in the work week other than the weekend. One piece is a nice treat on wed/Thu
-
I don't get it what was the point of that romance between pudding and sanji if the next chapter sanji goes back competing with Zeus for Nami's slave position.
-
A bold (or maybe not bold prediction)…
Given what Reverie promises to be in terms of worldbuilding and secret revealing or teasing (just think about the Gorosei), breaks in the coming weeks could be much more easier to cope with since we're gonna have so much to talk about.
-

Then simply wait a week longer on regular schedule: you have two weeks of content to read, but have to wait longer for it

Damn, that bounty raise.

They already know that.

The whole world knows that Luffy is Dragon's son. It was announced by Sengoku during the Marineford war.

@uniaka:

Well, it resulted in a significant change in Pudding, for one.
Since Big Mom and her family/crew are certain to be returning to the story post-Wano (whether the Strawhats go back to Totland or encounter them elsewhere coughElbafcough), I think it's safe to assume Pudding will make a reappearance. She may not be one of the crew's fighting powerhouses, but her Devil Fruit abilities are very useful for manipulation purposes and, should her supposed third-eye abilities start to awaken, BM will have all the more reason to keep her close in the future. That puts Pudding in a prime position to serve as an ally on the inside when the Strawhats come into direct conflict with BM again.
Also, Sanji's always doted on the ladies in the crew (and those not on the crew, for that matter). I don't think the sudden addition of a girlfriend/fiancee/wife was ever going to change the chivalrous pervert aspects of Sanji's character all that much. Give him an additional (even primary) focus, sure… But his interactions with the other women in his life were never going to simply go out the window just because Pudding came into it, particularly since it's been obvious for years that his flirting with Nami/Vivi/Robin/etc. is never going to lead to anything.

That's just Sanji, though.
Although the fact that he's oddly non-perverted towards her (most of the time) seems to indicate that, at least narrative-wise, she's special.

It's even worse if you notice the time intervals between posts.

Since AlphaMale started it off so nicely for us, I'll do you this bickering chapter thread service:
You don't get it AlphaM, it's not that Sanji is weak. He's actually plenty strong. It's just that Oda has a raging hard-on for zoro so automatically he's super limp on Sanji.
Also. you've been completely blind to all of Sanji's actions this arc haven't you!
I hope that was satisfactory bickering!

What? Who doesn't know that Luffy is actually Dragon's son?
The "legends" Luffy has met so far, even if they know he is dragon's son, recognized him as "Garp's grandson" (Chinjao, BM), which makes Garp all the more awesome for me.
Since Dragon can manipulate the weather somehow, my best guess is, that he has hidden Baltigo just like Nami hides herself with Mirage Tempo (iirc). Or he used his wind powers to put fog around Baltigo. Luffys dad could get along with Nami in weather-Expertise.
Hope we see Dragon at Kamabakka KD next, as Ivankov's cover Panel implied. -

Chinjao recognizes him primarily as Garp's grandson because he has history with Garp. And BM is a pirate, so she doesn't particularly care about the revolutionaries, she's more preoccupied about the marines.
Its reasonable that they would also know about Dragon though.
-
Plot twist, Dragon had the Dragon zoan all along. It's a dragon that can manipulate weather. Not first time a character has same name as his fruit, smoker, cracker, smoothie, katakuri.

We don't really know what Smoothie's abilities are yet, but they seem "sponge" related to me…

@Long:
Yeah people keep saying attack but thats a terrible idea in-story wise. They might make a declaration somewhere at the sametime or work in the shadows but crashing in through the ceiling and making ahuge entrance would be tempting death for no reason
People are saying they should attack? That's nuts. We don't even know the full scope of their recruitment, power or resources and they got messed up by Blackbeard already, let alone the strongest Marine forces. So not only would it be fruitless but also send a totally counter-intuitive message. All he would have to do is show the Marines' corruption and incompetence (not that it would be difficult to do, just circumventing their efforts to cover it up and/or prevent it from broadcasting worldwide) and that would separate the good nations from the bad ones so he would know next time which ones needed to be targeted as enemies, and get the nations that hadn't lost their souls to evil to turn against the ones who had.
I'm still wondering exactly what Dragon's power is. Some say it's a kind of weather control but I'm thinking it either has something to do with foreseeing outcomes with good fortune, or directly affecting the odds of things happening so that they can go in his favor or against the favor of others since that would at least be a little more subtle and explain why there wasn't an overt gesture on his part regarding why Buggy got struck by lightning when he was about to behead Luffy in Loguetown (although I think there might have been more to it when he started helping people out of Grey Terminal, I just can't remember specifics). I think it should have more to do with his leadership of the Revolutionaries and influencing those to his side than something directly combat-related like the Admirals, though, for him to so frequently operate in the shadows and not do direct conflict despite having very powerful followers like Sabo.
I wouldn't mind the next chapter or two still not showing what's going on with the rest of the crew and whatnot in Wano, as long as something bombastic happens at Reverie. I really want Dragon to finally show something personal about himself and his motivations. I mean, I know we all feel the same way but I want to know what drives him personally, his pain that makes him oppose them so vehemently that he gave up a life spent raising his son and rejecting his father. I can actually see him being a former Marine (due to Garp's insistence) and, having a view from the inside, and after being forced to do something horrible and feeling a part of himself die, completely changes his allegiance and outlook, or the idea about him and Luffy's mother being from two different worlds and her being punished for it and him vowing to rid the world of the people who are so heartless as to make the world suffer under their whim. Dragon showing himself on a big monitor like how Buggy did at Marinford, and telling the world a heartbreaking truth (I'd honestly love to see someone we know like Vivi reduced to tears by it) to really start the gears of a global movement turning, would be worth waiting a bit longer for the crew's reunion to happen.

That seems very much like Baccarat's Devil Fruit from Film Gold. And while Oven shows that Oda isn't totally against reusing filler DFs, I still doubt he'd give permission to use a power that he's been building up for 800 chapters now.
My personal headcanon is that Dragon has the wind logia, and blew the storm clouds into Loguetown, but the lightning strike was complete luck.

Eh, if I had to pick I'd prefer him just having an all-weather DF than a Wind logia, or at least a 'storm' one. Seems fitting as a herald for someone whose reputation is supposed to be like that of an oncoming storm, a force that will change the world. Instead, his son is the one with that reputation since Dragon is so secretive, even apparently to his own underlings.
-
i just don't understand how Oven can put his hands in the water and still be able to use his DF
but i am stupid so…sorry to bring this up in this thread, it's just something that is in my mind for a long time.

Remember how Luffy's neck was stretched while underwater in Arlong Park? Devil fruit powers still work underwater, the users just become weak it they are mostly submerged. Just sticking your arms underwater wouldn't do anything.

And yet the weirdness of Seastone is that you can still move but not use your powers, a total reverse of being submerged in actual water.

That's so nonsensical. Someone get on twitter and call @DrVegapunk a hack.

Okay, a little later today, but here's some chapter comparisons! A whole bunch today, in fact…
- In response to Sanji saying he doesn't want to get stronger with the power of science, Luffy/Chopper replies in Mangastream with "Science is one of humanity's greatest achievements!" and in Jaimini's Box with "Science is an amazing human strength!" In VIZ, he says "Science is the power of mankind itself!"
- When talking about using Sanji's Raid Suit, Luffy says "I" in MS, as in, he would be using it. In JB and VIZ, he says "if you use that", as in, he clearly still wants Sanji to be the one to use it.
- Sanji refers to Franky as a "tricky" SH in MS, but instead calls Franky's lasers "tricks" in JB and "gimmicks" in VIZ.
- The official translation makes Zeus's comment a little dirtier. In the scanlations, he says that he's in the Clima Tact that Nami "never lets out of her sight" (MS)/"always carries around" (JB). In the official version, it's the Clima Tact "that never leaves contact with Nami's body."
- After Sanji's gloating about beating Zoro's bounty, Nami says in MS "Those figures are a bit…". In JB and VIZ, it's clear she's exasperated by all of Sanji's hype about this, saying "All over a silly number…"
- The scanlations have one of the princes simply assuming that Big Mom is very angry: "No doubt Big Mom is infuriated" (MS) / "Big Mom is probably seeing red right now" (JB). In the official version, he instead is going by the newspaper again: "It says Big Mom is furious."
- In MS and VIZ, Morgans's report states Cracker and Katakuri at 800 million and 1 billion, likely just rounding it to the nearest significant figures for the report. In JB, it says "over" these numbers, which doesn't seem to be what the translation said, but is factually correct.
- The name of the kingdom whose ship was attacked is spelled "Lulucia" in the official, and the princess's name, "Comane".
- The torpedo is called "undetectable" in MS, but instead "unblockable" in JB and "indefensible" in VIZ.
- Coby says to the Dressrosa/Prodence group "You sure have come a long way!" in MS, "Thank you for making this long journey!" in JB, and "You must be tired from your long journey, I imagine!" in VIZ.
- A Marine states that the pirates will be "executed" in MS, while in JB and VIZ, just says they'll be punished.
- Kyros just thinks to himself in MS that he's grateful that Coby diverted the torpedo, but in JB and VIZ, he instead silently notes that Coby seems determined not to take credit for stopping the torpedo.

Not sure where to post this, but funnily enough, Hiroaki Hirata, known as Sanji's VA, proudly took a pic with Zoro's VA 2 days ago.
Hirata asked Zoro's VA, "So, how much is your bounty?"[hide]

@BellisarioFaith
I usually read raw chapters, but your comparisons works are much appreciated :) -
Thanks for the hard work Bellisario, it's enlightening as always.
Commenting the chapter a bit late as I am feeling…rather unenthusiastic.
I liked the events in this chapter: the massive bounty raise; seeing the Straw Hats back at sea; knowing that the Reverie is on its way... Lots of nice things shaping up, yet the end of the Tottland arc has been such a bummer that it's still lingering on my mind and so I hardly feel excited at all. A few immediate concerns such as whatever happened to Jinbe & Germa are looking like they may not be addressed before a couple of years have passed, and what we're seeing this chapter really feels like the usual in-between arcs. Cameos from various figures of the past, the obligatory couple of big shots commenting for hype, bounties, ... Even Coby showing up (I swear, he even reminds me of Sabo. That must be Oda's male Nami face) hardly raises any interest. Sure he's made progress, but how far does this bring him ? Marineford Luffy ? How is he ever going to be a plausible threat to the Straw Hats, or anyone else in the New World ?
Long story short I will probably enjoy this chapter in future rereads because the Reverie is bound to be something else, but right now my state of mind is more "Sure, whatever, get on with it and get started with the Reverie"

+1 on the male Nami face (I think once we get one more identical character we can officially start calling it Sabo face). For some reason, Oda refused to commit to the Luffy/Coby rivalry, even when he could have with a simple decent exchange at Marineford. And now Coby has gone full fanboy mode.

And now Coby has gone full fanboy mode.
At which point was he not Luffy's most adoring fan?
He's been more or less like this since Morgan. That is axhand, not big news.

Got to agree with wolfwood. Koby's never really been a "rival" for Luffy…
Koby looks up to him - not so much for being a pirate, but for being someone willing to chase after their dreams and for teaching Koby to do the same.
He considers Luffy a friend, even if he can't admit that publicly. Seriously, he's not even able to convincingly fool people he only just met (Rebecca, Leo, Kyros, etc.) with the "We're enemies!" talk.
