@All:
Pretty great chapter.
Gonna repost this from the spoiler thread:
The fact that Sanji got a Raid suit, I don't like.
BUT
If we try to look at all angles as to why Oda made Sanji to receive one, I think he is trying to drive home the thought that Germa 66 has finally acknowledged Sanji as a strong enough fighter to have a Raid suit on his own. His brothers giving him a Raid suit pretty much means that they have gone from perceiving Sanji as a failure weakling to perceiving him as a fighter worthy enough to obtain a Raid suit.
All that's left is how Oda will make the inevitable scene of Sanji wearing his Raid suit to be an acceptable one. It has to be in a situation where it's not only threatening Sanji's lives, but his friends/crew too. A situation where he is willing to swallow his pride and use the technology given by the family he loathes so much for the sake of protecting something/someone. Me personally, I don't want his eventual suit-up scene to be a come back moment after receiving a beating any less than what Luffy got against Katakuri. He has to be pushed to his very limit on a very high stake even higher than just his life before he decides to use the Raid suit as a last resort. Only then would wearing a Raid suit be acceptable for Sanji. Let the Raid suit be Sanji's Snakeman moment.
Pfft copying me much? Here is my repost!
About Sanji and the raid suit:
This is a story. If something happens/is presented, it usually is for a reason. This has significance, whether if you like the idea or not - Sanji might be suiting up at some point. I myself would have, prior to this, shrugged off the idea (although not completely denying the possibility).
With that said, I would say the significance of the suit is this to the story:
A) It is a tool for Sanji to use; something to enhance his combat abilities. If he ever does use it, I imagine it would be to save Nami and/or Robin in a serious situation, where lives’ are at stake. That’s just my personal speculation if it were to happen
B) It is a way for Oda to tell us his biological family respects him, and dare I say, see him as one of them? While Sanji, at this time, does not have mutual feelings in that regard, will perhaps at one point ”forgive them”/simply be neutral about their past history. In this case, the raid suit is more of a symbolic thing to the story and possibly won’t be used.
C) Both of the above.
D) Or, the most obvious: it has a 3 written on it. You guessed it. Mr. 3 is about to get even more lit.
