One Piece Episode 834 Preview
This might be the best episode by Shingaki since the timeskip, while it still relied on Ichikawa a lot.
Bloody fantastic episode, Tomita is everywhere making him seem almost like an assistant supervisor, and animating atleast one noteworthy cut with Katakuri and Jinbe. Hiroyuki Sato's direction continues to impress with some powerful scenery and music that really sets the mood. His use of colour is really striking, just like in #823.
As stated, Shingaki was really solid this episode. He usually doesn't draw Luffy very well, but he absolutely nailed it this episode with some shots of him looking almost Water Seven-esque. Next week's episode looks fantastic as well, with Kitazaki's effects and shading all over the preview. He's easily one of the best, if not the best, supervisor working on OP atm.
I love soundtracks from Episode 833 so much, just epic
This was a really great episode and an amazing one to start off the action going on in this arc. Tomita put in lots of work as the highest credited key animator and it all looked amazing and the same goes with Hisada who was the second highest credited key animator. Sato's direction and storyboard were amazing as well and Ichikawa's corrections made it all look even better as they always do. Kitazaki's episode next week looks great as well, I'm very happy right now
Really good episode, so much stuff from Tomita and that was great, next episode looks very good too, i hope Toei will keep up this quality :)
So I stopped watching the anime right around when Luffy/Sanji fought…kind of got tired with the slow pace. Is there a good episode I should jump back in?

Episode 824 or Episode 830
Great episode, but I'm not sure I liked how Brook breaking the picture went down. In the manga it definitely felt much more like a comedic moment. Whereas here it was done as a "badass" climax.
But that's just a nitpick.

Honestly that was probably the lowest point of the arc (pacing wise), but the rest has been fantastic.
! Was this the episode where katakuri hits luffy with his mochi leg and tells jinbe not to explain his powers

16 characters of yes.
just wondering when does the english subs for One Piece usually come out ?
They go up on Crunchyroll about an hour after the episode airs (so at 10:00PM EST), and then they get ripped for torrents not too long afterward.

Pretty good episode, and indeed probably the overall best-looking Shingaki episode we've had since Punk Hazard. Tomita is crazy man, crazy. My low-key favorite part of the episode though was during a shot of Morgans talking where you could see Brook walk by in the background, completely unnoticed and without mention. I wish the episode did more of that before the picture-breaking at the end.
Looks like two more Charlotte children were named in the credits. The guy with the beard and pompadour seems to be named Mobile and then there's someone named something like Noazette and I have no idea who she was supposed to be.
Damn. That was the manliest thing I've seen in a while. Jinbe is all sorts of awesome.
This episode was one of the best since the time skip. Loved it all.
Spectacular episode, one of the best in a while for sure. Loved Tomita's work.

He appeared in some more scenes throughout the episode.
This episode just felt really good, even compared to the strong episodes of the past month.
I thought the first half of the episode was only OK, given how it relied on a lot of shots of the Luffy clones running and jumping around with the same animation quality as they did last episode. While the cake being destroyed IS a big event, the way they portrayed it made it feel overdone and redundant rather than impactful. Also more minor nitpick, but I think Bege's facefault would have been funnier if he didn't talk, like what happened in the manga.
But the second half, man. That was consistent quality right there. Jinbe's scene looked like a ton of work was clearly put into it, and it had even more impact now than it did in the manga, which is really saying something considering it was huge in the manga too. I also really liked the shot of Katakuri waving his mochi leg around, and Brook's scene, short as it was, rivals Jinbe's scene in terms of the episode's best manga adaptation. The visuals, the little cameos of him throughout the episode, and that goddamned laugh at the end which chilled me to the…bone! Yohohoho!

Saw the episode and it still felt plenty comedic to me especially with yohoho moment right aftr he does it
I always saw Brook smashing the portrait as both comedic and badass. Like, he had a silly disguise on and laughed while completely ignoring what was going on next to him, but still, holy shit he just waltzed in and broke the portrait! I think what made it feel different here is how much bigger Prometheus' attack was (which I felt added to Brook's scene, but who knows if Luffy and Jinbe will actually realistically dodge that)
Completely surprised with the positive reactions, I thought this episode was awful! Everything seemed to drag on forever, nothing actually landed (nor the funny or the badass moments) because of that. And the bgm was terribly picked.
I was honestly annoyed the whole time. Only thing I thought was properly done was Brook breaking Carmel's picture.
Everything in the wedding is supposed to happen lightning fast, Bege's plan is supposed to take place in like 15 seconds, I'm afraid the anime need to slow everything down to an almost torturing point will ruin everything in the next episodes (at least for me, since everyone else seems to have loved this episode).
btw, another two BMP names: Noisette and Mobile.
Bad bgm choices? For me and most of the people music was good in this ep but i think this depends on taste.

Your expectations are too high, I mean Dragon Ball Super had a tournament that was supposed to last 48 minutes but lasts 35 episodes, not based of the manga. The One Piece manga events was supposed to happen extremely fast but was spread across many chapters as there is so much going on. To think that these episodes will be lightning fast is unrealistic.

Beges plan is supposed to take 15 seconds after the portrait breaks
I did get taken out of the slow moments myself a bit, wonder how One Pace will deal with it

Mobile is the pompadour guy with the beard who kind of looks like an elvis impersonator.
