Lol, Wonder Woman was center on BvS cover and now JL. And why not, she is the best character and got the best movie so far.

Because JL is a super divisive movie, just like BVS and simply putting her front in center doesn't make the movie or cover art any better….especially do to most of the attention being on Cyborg for all the wrong reasons.
-
Cyborg didn't get the memo they were gonna do the posse walk instead of the action jump like they rehearsed.
-

No, it's because they want to portray Batman and Superman as equal and all.
More importantly, I like how they wrote "for brighter, deeper, more lifelike colors". This is pathetic
-
Who the fuck approved that cover and how do I get them fired?
Seriously. Just go with the Bohemian Rhapsody homage post. It was that easy, folks.

Right?
That one was artistically well put together, this actual cover seems like a quick photoshop.
-
That image just really highlights that those costumes were NOT designed for bright lights, color or texture wise. They just look bad in popping colors.
I like bright colors. Superheroes SHOULD be bright colors. But not in those costumes.
Also, I just really don't understand how these superhero movie posters always suck. (Both marvel and dc… The Avengers cover with the 20 foot tall Hulk is still awful.) ) Comic books have spent decades and thousand upon thousands of images (Millions even) designing cool eye catching covers. I know these layouts are focus tested and assembled in photoshop based on priority of which actor is the biggest
How hard is it to do this? Seriously?

[/hide]I literally just googled "justice league cover" and those all popped out. I wasn't even hunting for anything particularly dynamic or memorable. But those are all better compositions, or action shots, and more dynamic and interesting.
Hell, just have them standing there, but go Alex Ross and put some strong overhead lights on them. Or… get Alex Ross to paint a poster!
[hide]
[/hide]I liked the Bohemian Rhapsody cover and barring anything else they should have used that… but that was in fact more appropriate for advertising than actual cover art.

Not surprised if true but semi funny because of the clusterfuck elements.
-
Still would have rather watched his cut, cause at least it would have been a one vision mess, instead of Whedons frankenstein comedy mess.
-
-
Would it have killed Whedon to just shoot other parts of Clark's body, like a competent director who knows how to express things without close-ups of some actor's face? Hell, just keep the beard and pretend Superman's had multiple looks.
-
Or hello maybe use CGI to add a beard in….guess it depends on how far that tech is.
-
I can't blame the CI people to reconstruct the jaw and all that with little time they had in with the reshoots, I blame the heads shold have just keep the hair and CGi it on during the Snyder shots.
-
Re-shoots a bitch
That's where that image is from…...damn is that awkward looking.
I also didn't know that Ben Affleck and Mark Buffalo were brought in as doubles:ninja:.
-
Next thing, DC is gonna spend thousands of dollars to give Cavill CGI hair, instead of doing a hair transplant like every celebrities do
-
My family wanted to see Justice League at the local free cinema (college campus, movies paid by the student union board), so I spent the last week getting caught up on the DC movies.
Saw Man of Steel in 2012, and didn't really feel like rewatching it.
So, here's some relatively quick impressions.Batman v Superman:
! Fun fact, I checked this one out from the library. So I didn't waste money on it, but… it sure feels like a waste of taxpayer money.
Hooo boy I went in hoping my low expectations would at least make this one enjoyable… That didn't happen so much. Not to say there aren't good things about it. For one, I thought Affleck's Batman was alright. Not sure I'm won over by his Bruce Wayne, though, but in the grand scheme of things I don't think the movie/universe is really interested in Wayne as much as it is Batman, so I don't think I should hold out much hope in that regard. And second, I liked Irons' Alfred. The sarcastic and droll humor was spot on, and I like his more integrated role in the whole Batman operations.
! I have no idea what Wonder Woman's plot was. It was retconned in Justice League (if I have it right, she was trying to get into LexCorps to retrieve an old negative of the group photo from WWI), but it's pretty clear that she was nothing more than a glorified cameo in BvS.
! Speaking of cameos, what was up with the Flash one? "You were right about him all along"? I feel like that's meant to be a red herring to the audience, letting us believe he was implying Superman, when in actuality he was implying… Darkseid, maybe? I don't know. It isn't clear. Oh hey, it was just yet another dream! So it can be tossed aside as nothing. Ugh, don't waste my time like that, movie.
! Third act was a mess. The whole BvS fight was decently entertaining, but I just don't like how Luthor was able to dupe Superman that easily. Or more accurately, how the movie made Superman look dumb, and get forced into fighting due to Luthor's scheming.
! And right off the heels of that fight, we get Doomsday. Two big fights saved for the end. It's not atypical by any means, but I could tell I was near the end of the film and it made me realize I wasn't feeling any satisfactory pay-offs, and it made me kinda sad to know the rest of the film was very unlikely to salvage the previous 2 hours.
! And looking back in retrospect, the pieces of dirt floating from Superman's coffin makes no sense, considering how he comes back to life in JL was done without any work on Superman's part. Ah well.Suicide Squad:
! Okay, I was not expecting to like this one as much as I did. Overall it was a pretty mediocre film, but that first 1/3 of the movie was a lot of fun. Amanda Waller listing off the members of the squad was great, although some kinda sloppy exposition, but still fun. Will Smith did about as much as you'd expect him to in any role, but seemed to be relatively restrained and able to play the part of Deadshot for the most part. I think I liked his emotional story arc, although it was kinda hamfisted at times.
! I think a lot of the movie was hampered down by a few characters too many, particularly the ones that did next to nothing:
Slipknot lol. I could tell right away he was going to be the token "Get killed to prove the tracker bomb threat is legit" character.
Killer Croc did some swimming and some fighting, and… that was it. I also couldn't get over how big his head looked, probably due to the make-up/prosthetics.
Katana was a waste. Didn't really use her sword's ability, except to cry to her husband. Other than that, she was just another fighter.
I really liked what they were trying to do with El Diablo, but it just didn't seem to work well near the end. For one, having him call the team his new "family" didn't feel earned at all. Second, it was too easy for Deadshot to push him into using his fire powers. Diablo was disciplined and felt guilty for killing his own family by accident, but then he "relapses" once Deadshot essentially goes "bet you can't do it! Bet ya can't!". Ugh. :(
! Jared Leto's Joker was a mess. He was trying too hard in a direction that doesn't work. I couldn't stand a lot of the line deliveries. He was going for crazy-for-the-sake-of-edgy, and it shows pretty badly.
! And I was not a fan of the music selection. A lot of it was too cheeky and annoying, and I rolled my eyes quite a bit. I can't remember, but supposedly after the reaction to the fantastic Bohemian Rhapsody trailer, they made the trailer editing team be the ones who did the editing for the movie? If that's the case then yeah, that shows as well, and not for the better.
! Viola Davis was amazing as Amanda Waller, though. More of her, please!Wonder Woman:
! Nice of you to show up, DC!
I liked a lot about this film. Pacing was great, and I loved the small diverse team she was a part of near the last half of the film. And they didn't feel like wasted minor characters! They each had some dimension to them (the chief who we thought was in the war for profit, and then later seen turning down money; The scotsman sniper who struggles with some ptsd, and Sameer initially looking sleazy and turning out to be likable).
! Also liked how Steve Taylor really wanted to believe that Ares was real, that "one man was responsible for the war", and how the film goes over the subject and how it's more complicated than just one man.
! And dang, Ares turning up at the end was sure quite convenient. Not that I really cared though, I could tell that Luddendorf wasn't really the main baddy in the film, and the Ares fight was good.Justice League:
! Oh my goodness, that pre-title sequence with the kids getting a video of Superman! Now that is a solid step in the right direction on how to do Superman. Wholesome, positive, admirable, and happy. Hell, the color in his suit popped out more. Joss Whedon, was this scene your doing?
! Cyborg was pretty neat and I feel he was fleshed out pretty well, struggling with his new cyborg life and what he now is. This was my first big exposure to him and I like this character, so I'm hoping he gets more screentime, whether in a solo movie or the next JL or whatever's planned for this EU.
! Flash. Hrm, this was kinda weird. The only exposure I've really had with Flash is the current tv series, so it took me a while to get use to Miller's take on the character. Awkward and adorkable, and everyone in the theatre loved his lines and humor.
! Batman did a lot of legwork but I definitely got the feeling that Wonder Woman was the lead in this movie. Not a complaint, though, I think WB is getting the drift that everyone loves WW.
! Personal nitpick complaint: I hate how they essentially have to redeem Aquaman's reputation by making him a big, tough, testosterone-fueled guy. I don't blame them for going in that direction, and it's probably the only way Aquaman was going to get any decent screen redemption. I just don't like the situation the character is in, I suppose. So overall, I feel like the DC movies are going towards a better direction, although I don't feel terribly confident that WB will be able to maintain it, and I hope I'm proven wrong. BvS was a horrible, horrible start (I know, Man of Steel was retconned into being the "first" in this Universe, so whatever), but please WB, don't do that ever again.
-
Joss Whedon is not doing Bat Girl anymore :(
-
To be honest I didn't think Batgirl would go through. Justice League and recent Batman movies aren't established enough to really dive into Batman side characters that aren't James Gordon or maybe Robin.
-
I don't know why they want a Batgirl movie before they even give us Robins or even Commissioner Gordon. I wish they'd just stop throwing out half baked ideas into the public. Makes them look even more incompetent.
-
I would say people already feel they know Robin and Gordon since they are constantly around in Batman properperties while Batgirl hasn't really get a memorable portrayal making her somewhat a new thing.
-
They're making a Nightwing movie. Commissioner Gordon was in Justice League and is a perfect character for the Batgirl movie.
And Whedon being off Batgirl is a good thing.
-
I don't even remember Gordon in the movies.
Also I really have reservations about what Nightwing is going to be like. Normally I wouldn't mind the skipping around but DC has repeatedly dropped the ball.
But supposedly the early showings of Aquaman are going well?
-
But supposedly the early showings of Aquaman are going well?
They went "Well" for every Single DCEU movie so far. WB is packing the audience with the crowd that loves these movies no matter what and is getting skewed impressions as a result.
Hell, you can tell these things are skewed because Wonder Woman's early audience reaction was "…meh"
-
Zachery Levi in costume. -
That outfit's definitely getting a touch of CGI. But from what we can see… Not bad. I would have liked seeing the shoulder cape instead of the hoodie, but at least nobody else wears a hoodie in the DCEU (besides undercover Cyborg I guess).
-
16chars for who the fuck is it ?
-
-
So was Marvel not called Marvel when they originally named him? That was such a confusing name.
-
So was Marvel not called Marvel when they originally named him? That was such a confusing name.
He was.
-
Fun fact: Captain Marvel starred in a bunch of 1941 serials for Republic that are arguably the first superhero movies.
-
-
Okay, I take back what I said. That costume looks cheap as hell and needs a LOT of CGI to work lol.
-
It looks cheap as fuck, but it also looks cheesy as fuck. I feel like DCU could use something cheesy and genuine. I mean, we're dealing with a superhero who has the literal mind of a child. I expect the movie to have some fun and having grey, gritty realism superhero to represent that is just a mistake.
-
If it wasn't for the hood-cape I swear that could pass as the original costume from the 1940s Captain Marvel serials.
-
I actually like that costume.
It does look a bit cheap and cheesy but I expect lighting and CGI to fix that.
I just like how faithful this is. They didn't feel the need to "edge" it up like they've been doing for every character thus far in the DCEU.
-
The lightning bolt looks terrible/ It should be flat to the suit and shiny. (Maybe they'll be making it CG glow constantly.) but otherwise it's fine.
Cinematic color adjusted lighting rather than broad daylight candid shot should make it look okay.
Guys, this is why you always need to get a publicity shout out BEFORE the dailies leak things.

Given that Captain Marvel is a kid that makes sense…...or does it given how some kids are into edgy things.
-
I don't know to feel about this. She'll either be awesome like Heath Ledger or a complete misfire like Jesse Eisenburg.
http://comicbook.com/dc/2018/03/09/wonder-woman-2-villain-cheetah-kristen-wiig-/
-
Eisenberg only sucked because apparently simply having him play Luthor like he was supposed to be was too simple.
-

Hmm, doing live-action Cheetah will be tricky, I think. I mean, she's a cat-woman. It looks fine in animation, but how do you make her not look too sexual or too stupid in live-action?
This is probably my favorite Cheetah so far, partly because it's Claudia Black who is fucking awesome:
-
I've just never seen Kristen as someone serious? At most she's been in dark comedies I think. I can't recall action or drama from her.
-
Hey if Jack Black can play against type in King Kong.
-
I'll wait to see the movie before I judge. I judged Heath Ledger before I saw him, I judged Ben Affleck before I saw him. I thought both would suck. I was dead wrong about both so I'm not making that mistake again.
-
Considering Cheetah is basically the ONLY iconic WW villain that isn't a greek god or tied to them, kind of a no brainer to go with Cheetah. But can she really carry a whole film?
Hmm, doing live-action Cheetah will be tricky, I think. I mean, she's a cat-woman.
Eh, assuming its full mo-cap replaced with CG it worked fine in Avatar.
And prosthetics worked fine in the Ron Pearlman Beauty and the Beast series.
So it should be okay as long at they don't go all Green Goblin on us and just make it a cat themed mech suit or turn her in a Catwoman style woman in leather.
Kristen Wiig IS a weird choice though given she's super comedy oriented. But who knows.
Be hilarious if Cheetah acts like Lola Bunny. I'd see that movie twice.
