whhhhhhy more goku and vegeta?
BT3 pulled this same stunt, with having multiple versions of the same character, and I've always disliked having transformations be a separate form, like BT1.

That's the problem with character with too many forms. If you choose to play the character in his base form then you would have to gradually fill the SP bar or whatever the game would have to reach one stage of transformation.
It might work on a game like BT or Xenoverse, but not in a fast-action 2D sidescroller like FighterZ.
One Piece Burning Blood done almost the same by putting G4 Boundman Luffy in a slot in the roster.
Man its like every recent dragon ball video game is forced to include those two, is this like the 5º "goku" in this game?
About the Super spoiler
! ugh, preferred the other design now it look like another super sayain form even though it's something theoretically everyone can get (that's thing I liked the most about the form).:getlost:
! Did you guys thought that might be the reason all Angels have white hair?
Thanks for reminding me
! I think silver Goku is the same problem I had with SSG when I first saw, it's just not very impressive.
It's not an overdesigned mess like SSJ7+ you see in AF fanwork, but it doesn't feel as powerful as that first Super Saiyan transformation.
! Probably because Goku didn't exactly need a new form, but hey, gotta sell those toys
! I like it because it's a parallel of Jiren (the gray part), similar to the angels, and heat has been a thing with it - the white flame is supposed to be the strongest. Interestingly, grey monkeys represent balance.
! On the other hand, it is the most common form among fanmade stuff. It's more of a problem what preconceptions we have, rather than the form itself. It screams "what? Another SSJ form?" eventhough it's not meant to be one.
Episode 128!
The pacing and presentation seriously hurt the script of this episode.
Okay, Vegeta's last stand only took half the episode, which I really wanted because he got everything set up for his character already resolved. But it was the most dragged out stuff in this tournament in a while. We already saw this and then we had some flashbacks added? It was frustrating.
Him giving the last bit of energy to Goku was a great character moment, but that, too, dragged.
Equally, Jiren beating up Goku and Goku's great character moment were really dragged out. I'm so happy Goku has his empathy back this arc. Goku's selfishness and selflessness should be balanced. It's why the big trust/friendship moments hit (Goku's selfishness is a serious flaw that has consequences, so him putting his wishes aside always does have impact), but it was all just so incredibly dragged out.
Individual episodes have kept the pacing up within them very well for a while now, so this is a bummer because the character material was really good.
Oh and I'm happy Freeza is still a wildcard. Hopefully they'll do something interesting with him.
I'll be way more forgiving of another Vegeta in FighterZ if his level 3 is an Oozaru thing.
I lold how Jiren became Hody Jones level of antagonist.
The whole datamined list is:
! Goku (Saiyan Saga)
Vegeta (Saiyan Saga)
Broly
Bardock
Merged Zamasu
Vegito (Super Saiyan Blue?)
17
Cooler (unknown whether it's Final Form or Metal)
This isn't exactly correct.
The Datamined list didn't find a list of playable characters, it found a list of unreleased Lobby Avatars and people are just assuming that the ones that aren't already revealed are ALSO going to be playable characters. In fact, the first guy who dumped the datamine info said that he wasn't so sure about 17 and Cooler specifically.
Now, that could be 100% correct just as easily as it could end up being complete bullshit, but I just wanted people to know that this list wasn't set in stone.
That being said, Broli and Cooler piss me off. Broli the most. Ugh….. When will the goddamn fanbase get over this literal giant baby?!?!?! He's in there wasting a character slot because he's popular for absolutely no good reason.
It's not more of a waste as "base" goku and vegeta.
I could accept kid Goku, with the bo staff and the nimbus tho.
This arc has now given me two unintentionally hilarious moments. The rock thing with Toppo and Frieza appearing in Goku's thoughts about the people trusting in him.
No matter how the ToP will end, I'll always have that.
The intention behind it is probably that Freeza contributed in terms of keeping U7 alive and Goku can't waste that, but it is pretty funny. Just like him being with the group in the ending.
Well, that was a poorly written episode. I don't really have anything else to say about it.

I am even more annoyed by Bardock, to be honest.
Eh Bardock is cool. They'll probably make him different enough.
Episode was good, decent, and good.
My current "how I wish this stupid thing ends" is:
Goku is ko, Frieza manages to run the clock, there is a tie, and the tiebreaker is number of ringouts for each character.
Jiren with just Goku, Vegeta, Hit and slime monster.
Frieza, with Gohan, Dyspo, the guy who he made shit his pants and chose erasure from existence rather than facing him, the guy who he pissed off enough that tried to kill him and got erased by his troubles, the poor yardrat, his part of KOing the robot, Cabba..
That is overall a terrible DLC list when there's so many other characters that would be interesting. But nope, pallet swap Goku and Vegeta, and some movie characters which include pallet swap Goku's dad and pallet swap Frieza's brother. And also including the ever dumb and overexposed Broly.
Still no Mr. Satan? Videl? Raditz? Chichi? Roshi? Yajirobe? 19? 20? Zarbon? Dodoria? Anyone from the tournament of power?
At least 17 and Zamasu is okay.
Who would ever want to play as Yajirobe?
@S.C.:
Who would ever want to play as Yajirobe?
I would for one. He'd have a different hitbox and sword attacks, probably some rolling moves. And he'd probably NOT have fireballs so he'd need a different mechanic to compensate. He was pretty fun in some of the 3D games though he was one of the characters saddled with "no flying no fireballs" so they were basically an unusable joke character… but I made it work.
Also, he was awesome in original Dragonball. Stronger than both Goku and Tien... for a very brief period.
He is admittedly, way lower on my list than Mr. Satan and Videl.
I would definitely go for Yajirobe over pretty much any of the DLCs. Actually, that goes for everyone in that list except for Raditz.
Now that I think about it, though, the lack of Ultra Instinct probably means there are more names to come (although this first batch wouldn't make optimistic for the next one).
re: the episode:
It was okay. Freeza's not in the stands, so I'm almost 100% he'll do some last minute attack just to give Goku a small window of time to land a crucial hit, or something. Even crazier, Goku and Jiren knock each other and U7 wins by default but this is Super, so they're not gonna do that
I've been revisiting the FT arc via the dub and the start of it is still really good.
The mystery around Goku Black is instantly intriguing, the pacing snappy and the characters in-character without being overblown. Early FT arc Goku was completely fine.
I love the ToP's character work, but the FT arc definitely has it beat plotting-wise, particularly the beginning.
I've been also thinking that while the new UI design isn't inspired, the idea behind it definitely still is. As far as we know it's still Ultra Instinct despite the design change and it ties together with an idea coming from as far back as early Dragon Ball (moving without thinking is literally part of Popo's training).
Thought has been put into this a bunch concept-wise. I do wonder if the original idea was just another SSJ form. It also is kinda understandable Toriyama isn't as hands on anymore considering his age.

I dunno, I'm actually 100 percent convinced that's the ending. Frieza is very deliberately being left out here. I totally think he's the last one standing after Goku and Jiren destroy the entire arena and are both eliminated. Frieza being hailed as the savior of the universe would be perfect.
A. Goku and Jiren both get knocked out of the arena and Freeza wins
B. Goku and Jiren knock each other unconscious with Freeza still around leaving U7 the winner by the numbers
C. In the last minute of the fight, Goku and Jiren are both at their end, barely standing. Jiren gets the upper hand and is about to finish Goku and Freeza steps in, getting a few hits in before being knocked out himself and allowing Goku to finish Jiren off.
D. Based on spoilers of Super's final episodes
! Jiren pulls his head off and reveals himself to be none other than Yamcha. Yamcha, who was disappointed in not being selected for the TOP was hanging around Capsule Corp. Ultimately, with U7 losing the tournament, the Omni Kings destroy the Universe. In it's final moments, Yamcha escapes in a new Time Machine Bulma had created. He goes back only a few months, and quietly observes the Goku vs Goku Black fight. Seeing the time ring, Yamcha is struck with inspiration. He uses the time machine to travel to the Buu saga and convines Shin -the worst Supreme Kai of existence- to show him the Time Ring. Shin does this -being the worst Supreme Kai of existence- and Yamcha kills him(and as a result Beerus) gains the Time Ring and takes Shin's Potara earing. However Yamcha knows that his power alone isn't enough. He uses the machine and travels to just before he originally left when U7 was being destroyed, and grabs Puar. Knowing that the Potara will grant him power regardless of the person he fuses with(and lets be honest, fusing with a light bulb would make Yamcha seem more powerful), he fuses with Puar. Unable to control this new, super improved transformation technique, however, the fusion is permanent, and they morph into a gray antithesis to a character with depth and a personality. Knowing that this new being could not return to their old lives, it went to Universe 11 to make an otherwise cool organization pale in comparison to Yam…I mean Jiren's strength. Knowing that the TOP is coming, Jiren enters with his totally original and creative backstory to fool everyone. The truth is however, Jiren will win the tournament by using the Wolf Fang Fist at the last second, defeating Goku and shocking his former friends just before they are erased and the time loop is completed.
Amazing
! Jiren is actually fighting people in the Manga.
My Grandfather achieved Ultra Distinct 30 years ago. Not very original Mr. Toriyama.
Does anyone have link to the new manga chapter?
Does anyone have link to the new manga chapter?
That was basically just episode 97?
I saw people say this is really amazing and so much better than the anime and… it's episode 96-97. Granted, there's no translation, but that was really basic. Nothing wrong with that - had no problem with 96 and 97, either. It's the standard setup before action.
! Katopesla was robbed. He was the one fighter that really stood out to me in U3 - had fun gags and did the Tokusatsu hero stuff in a really fun way. Like the bird guy vs. Roshi much better, too.
! I'm pretty sure they were eliminated, anyway.

To add on, one prediction I've seen is that right when Freeza is about to wish for something nefarious, his 24 hours runs up and he disappears, leaving Goku to take the wish instead.

Hasn't it only been like 1 hour since Freeza has been revived?
Hasn't it only been like 1 hour since Freeza has been revived?
Could be that like Goku and SS3 back in the Buu saga, using his Golden form drained his time proportionally.
But in case not, another prediction has Freeza subverting our expectations and wishing for restored universes etc. Either way, I hope he does something before the tournament concludes.
Yah, they are ooloing him, there is no way for him to get his wish.
Jiren wants to revive people who have been dead over 20 years. Dude if things work like U7, they have been reincarnated a long time ago.
Goku.. might finally revive Kaiosama.
Even if U11 wins, the grand priest just has to make the argument that like 70% of the fighters were KOed by U7.
Goku.. might finally revive Kaiosama. .
That filler made me sad, not that being "dead" or "alive" really means anything to Kaio but Goku was the one that teleported Cell there in the first place.
It has been a continuous cruelty, he could have been revived long ago, with the same wish that revived 17, Trunks and everyone eaten by Cell.
But just as 16, Kaiosama doesn't matter.
<16 being unable to be revived is bullshit, maybe with the wording, but Shen Long (at least Porunga) can surely restore a friking planet in a way that no one notices any changes on their bank account, their books, or anything, the only thing keeping 16 Out of existence is their selfishness.>
The time limit on reviving living beings is more of "they reincarnated" so there is no soul to get back, but with an artificial soul, or just data, there is just oblivion for them.
I don't think it possible for Frieza to lose the 24 hours thing unless they rob him of like 22 hours.
Maybe it goes against Grand Priest or little kid guys wishes so they erase him then and there.
I like to headcanon that 16 got quietly revived at some point and just spends his days growing a forest like Robo in that one Chrono Trigger sidequest did
To add on, one prediction I've seen is that right when Freeza is about to wish for something nefarious, his 24 hours runs up and he disappears, leaving Goku to take the wish instead.
I actually really like this idea.
I can see it happening but they'd have to pull some shenanigans with the 24 hour time limit to make it work. And then Goku, who promised to revive Frieza fully, forgets to just like he keeps forgetting about Kaiosama. Or he finally remembers to revive Kaiosama and in the process forgets Frieza lol.
I'm still in love with the theory of Frieza eventually becoming a God of Destruction…
Hasn't it only been like 1 hour since Freeza has been revived?
Using a lot of power shortens your time back from the afterlife though; Freeza should have been burning through those twenty-four hours every time he used his Golden form. Plus tanking Sidra and Toppo's Destruction energy probably should have cut it down as well.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
And then Goku, who promised to revive Frieza fully, forgets to just like he keeps forgetting about Kaiosama. Or he finally remembers to revive Kaiosama and in the process forgets Frieza lol.
Goku wishing King Kai back to life at the expense of the other universes would be the best thing ever.
Goku: "Wow, you know this tournament has introduced me to so many awesome fighters! I can't even contain myself at the thought of fighting them again!"
Vegeta: "Kakarot, are you going to…."
Goku: "Don't worry buddy, I'm gonna keep that promise"
Universe 7, at a small planet at the end of Snake way
Gregory: "well would you look at that, my halo is gone"
Well, Frieza's time could end before the tournament, like he hits Jiren again and poof.
Frieza times out his stay right as Jiren hits him to make it look like he killed him
Broli just looks dumber and dumber with age.
And are they really doing the nonsense with Bardock being able to go Super? Really?
Meh, not really interested in these two. But whoever was looking forward to this, Merry Halloween!
Though for me, the real party starts when Master Roshi, Mr. Satan and Videl get announced.
You guys want the oldies but not anyone from the red ribbon army

I'd welcome Ninja Murasaki with open arms, trust me
Always loved Bardock, and Broly I've just accepted as is.
I don't get the hate for Broly (he has no personality, so I have no reaction to him) and I don't get the love for Bardock, though I do still "like" his character.
On my rewatch, the first Bardock special was painfully slow and you kind of have to wad through it to get to the kind of interesting character work, which is tragedy stuff that is done much better in many other series.
Bad guy with kind of human motives is something I love and not done badly here at all, though. So I like Bardock.
@Long:

None of them lasted more than a chapter or two to leave any real impression except maybe the ninja and Android 8.
I'd be absolutely down for Tao Pai Pai though.
I would also be down for the Pilaf gang if there was any way at all to make that work. It'd have to be tag team like Ginyu and probably in a mech or something, but…
I liked ninja Murasaki and Tao Pai Pai. Others? Meh.
