This is the best news Ive heard in a long time. This is the best advancement of technology we've seen in a long time.
Bionic arm offers hope

Yay, Cybermen arms being made….umm....I mean Cyberarms to replace failing flesh meat
-
That's pretty awesome, I never thought I'd live to see somehting like this. Bionic arms are gonna be a big help (reminds me of FMA)
-
Bionic arm. Sounds pretty cool but it'd be a great bonus if it was metal and you could crush things with the hand like superman or something but that won't happen.
-
Man thats awesome, though I think the wires should be covered by like a plastic that you can take on and off. The wires on your shoulder look kinda lame, but it's great we are making such progress.
-
Actually the military is sponsoring bionic muscle research, that allow a normal human to have the strength of like i dunno 100 or some crap like that.
So all they have to do is interface the 2 technologies and voila, cyborg Frankies everywhere.
-
give me some to make me like the crazy old man robot from Streets of rage

**Well, they are making those super-suits so who knows.
But this is great news. It great that people who lost body parts can get them replaced with robotic parts. Hopefully they'll one day be able to make artifictial eyes that can function like real eyes and things of that nature.
I think they should have somkind of covering over those, to make them look more like real pats. Kinda like Franky's glove on his hand.**

I didn't post a link because I thought it would be harder to find, but it's actually still one of the first results so here http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4817848.stm
bionic muscles + this topic = FRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAANKY!!! and robocop of course :) -
At this rate we are soon living in Ghost in the Shell. Yay.

Wow, this is impressive news. My dad lost his right hand when he was in his early 20s and had to learn to do everything with his left hand. Just recently he tore his rotator cuff in his left shoulder and has been largely unable to use that hand, which really kind of hammered home to me how much good something like this could do for people. It's a hell of a long way from being affordable, I'm sure, but still, it's there.
-
Why don't you look up some information on the medical centers testing these things out? Maybe your dad can be selected to participate as a test subject for free?
-
Well, I thought about mentioning it, but honestly, I doubt he'd go for it. He'll be 61 this year and he's pretty used to how things are. I think he'll be all for fixing his left shoulder, but I really doubt he'd go in for the bionic thing. If he was younger, he might, so this is really great for people who're in the situation he was in when he first lost his hand, but for him now, I think he's okay. ^^

Wow. And on my Birthday yesterday, too.

@Nicole:
Wow. And on my Birthday yesterday, too.
Are you an amputee Nicole? I didn't quite understand your post..
-
Wow, that's awesome. For the arm you need all the little finger joints and all that. Wonder if they're working on a leg. Soon, the arms will be like Megaman's guns and soon they will take over the world!
-
I will say one thing 'bout this.
…
GOTCHA.
