Lhtranslation (lol) did the 1st chapter -
Not sure about the premises of the story or it's potential, but the art is good.Is this a debutant author?
-
The art is really nice. But I can't help compare the story to Blue Exorcist. Exorcist with tech, mysterious tough kid with a hidden power, mentor monk.
-
It's Blue Exorcist Meets The Jungle Book.
-
I loved the "go to heaven", and the monk design was good, but the main character became too shota or young looking after the haircut.
-
I'm keeping an eye on this one, but it does look too similar to Blue Exorcist.
-
Sure. Compare to Blue Exorcist when D.Gray-Man pretty much did it first.
-
D Gray man wasn't that coated on Buddhist imagery tho.
-
I had forgotten about D Gray Man. I guess that is pretty similar too. But I would hope this series doesn't get as confusing as D Gray Man did.
Yeah this is definitely more Blue Exorcist + Jungle Book.
-
It looks like many people are bringing comparison with Ao no Exorcist and D.Gray-man in to this series.
But, I think people are completely forgotten about Kujaku Ou.
-
Kinda nice an interesting enough to give it a chance. I particularly liked the smartphone being used as a sutra basis - old meets new is something I've always been a sucker for!
-

Never heard of that series.
-
Never heard of that series.
Kujaku Ou is one of earliest exorcism manga series in Japan (it started on 1985). Whatever did in Ao no Exorcist and D.Gray-man, this series did before. Plus, it is also based on Buddhist exorcism.
-
There is also "hell teacher nube" but that is more on the monk-like stuff, rather than the men in black for the supernatural stuff.
-
Even Oda did something of the genre once.
-
Does anyone know what the reception of this series is in Japan? Its decent so far but has tons of promise, however theres no point in me getting hype for it if they just cancel it because of bad reception. Also heres chapter 3 raws
