@Shobu:
Luffy post TS using Gear Second for everything
Yea… right!
What does Gear Second have to do with anything?
Unlike in Gear Fourth Luffy's shoulder area isn't covered in Haki, so he can stretch his arm back no problem.

You know, man. Gear Second works literally with Luffy's inner body management of the blood speed to circulate, where the only reason to be able to sustain the stress of that, is because Luffy is entirely made of, and always being, rubber.
In HxH, a character (made of rubber) manipulating his body like this would be an absolute genius doctor who knows exactly how much he can control it and there'd be like 5 pages on exposition on it. Luffy just evidentally went top speed and realized his limits from that without all the effort. I kind of find it charming how he discovers something so brilliant but all the details are probably lost on him

Yes, but that wasn't what I was referring to. It seems that Luffy hardening his skin makes it less malleable and prevents it from stretching, but its insides are still the same flesh and blood - Luffy would still be able to inflate his blood circuit no problem. Haki is merely exterior.

yeah rayleigh did call it a coat, and we havent seen anyone cut in half besides vergo that has an interior (and im thinking that was more for effect) Isnt the relationship between his rubbery body being expanded and the outside armors consistency how he sucks his fist in for kong gun and also for flying
@Count:
I'm still trying make sense of how that's supposed to be logically consistent. I guess you could say that Culverin moving in such straight and rigid directions still counts as not being fully elastic, which I like to believe.
Pretty much, i mean, i does seem like luffy was using the compressed air inside him to move his arm and change it's directions accordingly, kinda similar to an air soft gun (a little bit, juuust a little bit) as if it was the only way he could "stretch" it for longer distances
i think it's safe to assume G4 is not as elastic
Ambition Hardening has been shown to restrict create/become Devil Fruit users. While control users are seemingly unaffected by it, it stands to reason they would have some limitations using it as well. The point of Luffy discovering how to vulcanize himself would lift some of the restrictions that Ambition hardening gives, and would be especially necessary if there were those out there that could nullify Ambition (I believe 100% that in the Arc where Vegapunk is finally introduced, we will see some sort of Null-Ambition device. If there's Seastone for Devil Fruit powers, there's definitely something to block Ambition, too.)
Also, he would need this to avoid being flat out melted by Akainu. Kuzan's cold wrecked him pretty badly, and I'm sure Ace's flames would have too, had they fought as adversaries. Unless there's going to be a Sun Logia, which is doubtful as there's already a Light one, Akainu has the hottest and one of the deadlist DFs in the One Piece world (I really wish they'd give this planet a name so we could just refer to it as such). Vulcanization would improve his chances against burns if his Ambition fails to protect him. The question of "How" he will do this process remains to be seen, as it generally requires being treated by sulphur in real life. Maybe a Sulphur-based DF user will appear?
I can see other users improving their abilities in creative ways like this. Crocodile and Eneru could team up and give Croc Fulgurite armor, or Kuzan could accidentally create Obsidian armor for Akainu, which begs the question if that's actually what happened during their fight. Akainu hasn't been fully shown, maybe part of his body is obsidian now? He should go fight some White Walkers…
Are we getting chapters on fridays now? Because damn I was looking forward to tomorrow…
Mangastream at least announced that they were reverting to fridays for the time being. I don't known about JaiminisBox.
Seawater does not stop the devil fruit from working! If a person is in the water, they can't move. I am not sure where people got this idea from.
Not sure if anyone has brought this up already. Seawater did disable Moria's shadow zombies. See chapter 558 & 559.

Jaimini's Box will also post chapters on Friday because most Japanese retail stores start selling new chapters on Friday.

I assume that's where people got the idea from, but I always took it as being a specific weakness regarding Moria's DF.

?
Are we talking about JUMP? Because if so, uh, no they don't.

Nope, my bad. I was confused with something else. I shouldn't talk about foreign things I don't know much about and interpret from random hearsay.
JUMP releases on Monday. So, yeah, that's how egregious scanlations are.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Moria's zombies' weakness just straight up salt, whether it was extracted or from the ocean?

Yes. Brook used pure salt while Jimbei used saltwater.

Ah, good to know. I thought I was going crazy and everything I knew was a lie.

Even then the weakness was salt. Sea water just happen to have salt in it.

I guess so. Strict rules are not necessary. General rules with allowance for exceptions are fine. Just accept and enjoy how the manga expresses itself, life is easy.

One of the English versions I see translates Brooks explanation in chapter 456 as:
THE SOURCE OF THE ZOMBIE'S ABILITY TO MOVE IS ORIGINALLY THE DEVIL'S FRUIT. SINCE THE SALT HOLDS THE POWER OF THE SEA IT UNDOES THE BOND BETWEEN THE FALSE SOUL AND THE CORPSE.
