Some of those might have been neat, but I feel quite a few of them he actually made worse than the originals. Also, the video got extremely dull pretty quick with him just basically repeating "The original has THESE COLORS, my variant has THESE COLORS" and not saying anything at all about why he picked those colors.
I think most people back in the day just wanted some shines to be like the ones they see fit vs what the company gives them. (Like a green and pink Nidoqueen instead of the pink and white like her male counterpart or a blue shiny Dragonite.)
If I was making a video like this? I would make Machoke's shiny more Purple with the red stripes still there while an Orange Gyarados like the one from the Red & Green remakes.
Some colors can look doll while some can be better than the original.
It's sad how there are fewer videos like these online while the bigger Pokétubers focus more on things like that new Mega Pokémon or that Aloan Pokémon forms… lol
