it's like all of my greatest dreams have been realized

@The:
Not gonna sure if you will found Master Edition. It's already sold out everywhere and they already started re-selling it overprice. I for me searching for it and found this a while a go and 10 minutes later someone was bought it.
So or nothing or overprice. Or maybe even a scalped one. Well the truth is I bought last month a Triforce N3DS with MM & Hyrule Warriors Limited Editions at 350 euro but I'm not gonna spent more than 150 for this IF I can found it. Well maybe when and if they get it on local market on my country….
I managed to preorder it on Amazon the instant it originally went up, so I'm good!
Nice collection! You should get the Tingle games on DS too.
They're on my list. I collect a lot of Zelda stuff, not just the games, but obviously getting the games is a particularly high priority thing for me. What I am currently missing from my collection is the following:
The Legend of Zelda: Collectors Edition Disc (GC), The Legend of Zelda (FDS), Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (FDS & GBA), Ocarina of Time (N64) Grey Cart, Majora’s Mask (N64) Non-Hologram Cart, Tingle's Freshly Picked Rosy Rupeeland, Tingle's Baloon Trip of Love, and Tingle's Baloon Fight all on the DS.
I’m also considering getting Repro carts of the BS Zelda games, since they are official games that just never got a retail release, but they’re obviously really low priority. -

That pretty much did the trick. Everything is better with guns and strippers. Nintendo really needs to get with the times.(P
(PS: Mario getting injured is probably the best thing ever. Why can't we have more of Mario getting run over by boats, cars, or simply just face faulting?)

You could just get an SD2SNES. Starfox 2 is the only SNES repro I own, since it won't work on any flashcart.

He stole Master Higgins' powerup! :O

Honestly I will agree that Mario in a real-world setting is pretty jarring at first sight, but I'm willing to give it a shot because of the potential it has. And Bowser in a white Pimp suit. There's also the fact that it is clearly only one area out of the whole game, given the wildly varying environments we've seen.
On the subject of Zelda collector's items, the other day I couldn't resist and pre-ordered the life-size Majora's Mask.

It won't have ANY multimedia applications, such as Netflix, at launch.
Does really affect me much.
-
My Wii U is my primary Netflix and Crunchyroll device due to being able to watch on the big TV and the convenience of having the tablet controller. Hopefully these get added sooner rather than later

Awwwww. Well, it's not like I'm trading in my Wii U.

I predict that the more mainstream multimedia apps will be on will be on by the end of the year at the very least
Also I wouldn't be against the Switch getting Funimation

I don't really see this as too big a deal considering I already have 5 different devices at home right now that already access Netflix just fine. I don't really need another one.
-
I'm sure I'll get the switch eventually, but not at launch. BotW is about the only thing warranting a launch day purchase, but I'd rather go the Wii U route.
And if Nintendo is going to want people to play online, they will sure have to amp up their services.I mainly use my PS3 for Netflix, but does anyone else find the Wii U Netflix inconvenient? The screen goes dark if you don't touch the Pad after a while, and I can't seem to find anything in the settings to stop that.
-
Apparently all online multiplayer matchmaking will be handled with a smartphone app
Not sure how I feel about that
-
We've gone from ordering Pizzas on our phones to now setting up online matchmaking on them.
-

This is true for me, too, however, I have to think about other people. For example, for someone who shares a TV (and doesn't have other devices, which is the case for some) the Switch and its portable screen could allow them to watch Netflix while the TV is in use by other people.
It's just unbelievable that Nintendo is releasing the Switch like this. Why the rush? They could have had a killer launch for Holiday 2017 with Super Mario Odyssey, Fire Emblem Warriors, Splatoon 2 (I state that begrudgingly), etc all out day one. Then again, if that meant delaying Breath of the Wild that would make people mad. Guess it's kind of a lose-lose situation. However, I don't know about you all, but I was to the point of not expecting BoTW at any certain point and just thinking "It will come out when it will come out". Wasn't even stressing myself out over it.
-
That whole phone thing screams of Nintendo's old-man-yelling-at-clouds inanity.
"Streaming? where I'm from we like playing games, not watching them"
"Matchmaking? Voice chat? why back in my day, we just used our mobile thingamajigs"Not to mention the absurdity of making a console-mobile hybrid, and skimping on console features and then blaming them as mobile limitations. I mean, come on Reggie, do you seriously believe any asshole is going to be doing competitive online in an environment where they don't also have a custom chair, headset and cupholder?
-

Haha of COURSE it only takes a few days before any possible optimism is replaced with "oh Nintendo you gargantuan fuck-ups." In what world do they live where you show up at a Starbucks with your Switch and organize a smooth online match using their shitty WiFi and the ability to actually voice chat in a decent capacity? Where people don't just MAYBE want to use a headset – even a Bluetooth one -- to hear their game and chat at the same time? Or like, want to be at home on their couch and not awkwardly be draining their phone battery and have to keep track of yet ANOTHER device to do something they have actual hardware for? Or a laptop? I mean fuck, how am I supposed to feel okay about paying for online play when they don't understand the absolutely most basic principles behind online play, BEFORE even getting to the actual technology involved to run servers? XD

It's just more Japan-centric stuff, where the population density is so much greater that this sort of local nonsense works.
-
That's true, but I mean even the very, very basic premise that I'd want to voice chat in a public place feels completely wrong to me.
-
I think Nintendo imagines all their fans to be cheerful people looking for extra ways to socialize. They ignore the rest of us bedroom-dwelling introverts.
-
It's not even that either. It's just plain weird to be somewhere public in a heated voice chat during a match. And that's assuming you can hear jack shit to begin with. I mean it's already weird just to have a guy walking down the street on the phone but you think he's talking to himself because you can't see his headset. Imagine if you're drinking your coffee and someone jumps up and goes "Fuck fuck! They're flanking us!"
-
Don't get worked up. This is the company that said streaming wasn't a big deal because people don't like watching people play games.
They live in a magical world where people gather on the streets to play nintendo games together, instead of real life where people look at you weird for pulling out a 3DS on a bus.
-
I don't even care about their fantasy world, if they would provide the teensiest bit of support for what real people do as well. Because otherwise I'm just going to be paying for a shitty virtual console game a month I probably won't play, a lobby/matchmaking service I won't use, and better servers in Japan that don't work worth shit abroad.
-
At least this time you can play splatoon locally.
-
Felt really skeptic after the recent presentation given that yeah Nintendo still showcased being out of touch. That said since they today announced FE Switch it finally kind of maybe shows them willing to work towards unifying their portfolio on one system(handheld and console).
Which honestly will make it absurdly hard to withstand the temptation of jumping in. Add to that them potentially bringing over a few other WiiU ports trying to give them a second life(Bayonetta, FE#, Wonderful 101 etc looking and those).Best case scenario would be if I can hold out long enough for a second iteration of the Switch and Nintendo listening to people until then and fixing their most egregious stances. That said for that to happen I feel like the Switch needs to do well enough to warrant them putting R&D into a second iteration but not well enough that they can just think they can do anything they want and people will still buy.
Man sucks that my enthusiasm is so low for the system, it's all mostly anchored in hopes and potential instead of the immediate reality and honestly it shouldn't be that way. Enthusiasm for the games it will have and might have though is pretty fucking high! Goddammit….

you can't fool me Foolio, I know you'll be the first on line for Splatoon 2 :ninja:
-
It's unbelievable how out of touch Nintendo is with online features. It's almost like their entire staff is made up of people who only use Nintendo products and have no knowledge of the competition besides smartphone games because there isn't a Nintendo phone.
-

To be fair, they are going to be offering the full paid package for their online service for free for months as a test, so you will be able to at least test drive it first. Maybe Nintendo actually will pull the lead out and get good servers for America too…. or at least have them working properly before the service switches to paid.
-

Um… yes? That's why I'm complaining? Because they have games I absolutely want to play online, and they're making me pay for it, but it sounds like they're as stupid as ever about online functionality.

So? I'm going to have to pay for it either way since I game online. We can pray their servers are going to be better but that's about it.
-
Well I can't believe I'm saying this…but I'm not buying the Switch, at least not at launch. I can honestly do way more things with my VITA than the Switch so far from what I've read. I find this really disappointing and don't see the Switch going that far ahead in sales after BotW if they don't get their shit straight.
I'm gonna have to buy BotW for Wii U, because I'm not paying $300 to just play Zelda on the go for he first 6 or so months the console is released.
-
While it would be completely stupid not to support streaming and such, fundamentally all I care about is for it to be extremely solid at running games, not other bells and whistles. The hardware looks so lame, but the games have me. Problem is, when some of those are competitive team-based online games, a highly-functional online infrastructure is critical, ESPECIALLY if it won't be free. That's why I'm so annoyed.
-
It's one thing to make an app with those online, chat, matchmaking features etc. But you don't make it the only way to access those options. They have to be built into the goddamn OS of the console in this day and age Nintendo!
-
for those who pay attention to the tournament scene Genesis 4 is partnering with Nintendo of America
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, 1-2-Switch and Arms, which were initially priced between £49.99 and £59.99, are now available to pre-order from certain retailers for a much more attracting price range of £44.99, £34.99 and £49.99, respectively.
Hopefully these price cuts will extend to NA too
-
I'm still shocked and somewhat insulted that 1 2 Switch isn't a pack-in. Do they seriously think anybody is willing to pay real money for that crap?

We have a product for people that want to have a pack-in game. It's called Wii U.

"But please don't. Wii want U to Switch from Wii U to Switch. You can also buy this New Nintendo instead of a 3DS, or of course a new New Nintendo 3DS."
God their names are so bad.
-
I'm definitely not getting Switch at launch. Nintendo hasn't given me any incentives to actually get it. Impression I'm getting is all my controllers won't work on it. All my discs I have won't work on it. Not sure how they'll handle digital game transfers. Breath of the Wild is coming on Wii U and I haven't heard a word about Smash and Pokken Tournament on Switch and Nintendo won't have the balls to cut internet support for the Wii U so soon if they don't want to piss off so many people.
I might as well just get as much mileage from my Wii U until Switch selection actually becomes worthwhile to drop money into it + $70 for a Pro controller.

:D haha. Sometimes you forget how bad until you write it out like this xD
Also worth to note:
"If you want to buy a NES Classic pls don't ask us, contact your favorite scalper for more information."First good news though I read you can have 8 accounts on one switch device each can be any region you want. Basically similar it seems to how it works on the PS3/4. It's a nice little thing cause only having access to the JP eshop on my 3ds has hampered my buying impulses a loooooot(JP sales seems to suck major as but I also have no good way to check up on them regularly so I might have missed a lot of good ones maybe).
-
I still think the N3DS should've been called Super 3DS. Didn't the Japanese have buttons in the vain of the Super Famicom controller?
Plus it's Nintendo, "super" is one of their favorite words to use.
-
Unsurprisingly Miis will be back but they won't be mandatory

Capcom: "We won't re-re-re-re-re-re-…-re-release Street Fighter II on non-Switch consoles unless it sells well"
But how will people without a switch ever get to play this innovative masterpiece title with slightly updated SNES graphics and controls…
-
It's Street Fighter 2 it'll be released on the 4, One, & PC regardless of how well it sells on switch.
-
Yes…......... that's the joke.......

It's an updated version of the SNES version? Not the arcade version? Really?

Most likely, particularly given the controls scheme and Capcom reps during the Switch event emphasizing d-pad gameplay by providing pro controllers.

The lack of confirmation on GCN VC, or the analog L/R triggers required for them, is troubling to me. I still have all the classic discs as well as Dolphin/Nintendon't, so I'll be okay, but plenty of people may be left out of legal access to these game for yet another generation. Plus, I would have loved truly portable versions of SSBM and Paper Mario TTYD.
VC in general has me conflicted. I want to have the games available in a portable format on the Switch, potentially with online for NES/SNES, and maybe even GB/GBA/DS games. I'm even ready to pay their lousy upgrade fees yet again. But is it gonna be another 4-5 years before I can actually play the games I want on there? Star Fox 64 finally came out on the US Wii U eShop, as did quite a few 64 games we shouldn't have had to wait this long for. Pokemon Snap first debuted in 1999, rereleased on the Wii in 2007, and on the Wii U in 2016/17. It actually took longer for it to come to the system that had the prior system literally built into it, and that's ridiculous.
At least this time, with the purchase records stored via NNIDs, I'm sure the games already on 3DS/Wii U won't have to actually move off. Especially considering there'd be no way to play them if the games aren't already on the Switch's eShop and there's no Wii U mode on there.
