Bernie Sanders crippled Hillary in the primaries by popularizing right-wing conspiracies on the left flanks and cutting the democratic coalition in half by refusing to concede until the very end. This is on him too. Ubiq and a bunch of others already correctly identified this troubling development back in the spring.
Among other things, Bernie said that Hillary is unfit for the presidency and that his voters don't owe it to her to vote for her in the general.
Once Zephos & Cyan get over their hang overs along with Ubiq or Robby waking up from a hopefully peaceful sleep I'm pretty
sure they'll have a proper run down on all the ratfuckers at every level who fucked this all up.
In those 4 years there would've been a progressive SC installed and various important legislation passed.
Yeah this could happen aswell
Ya know I thought of immigration but don't think I can… I'm disabled, dirt poor, and on DSS (disability social security) ... but wonder how long that will last under Trump.
Anyone knows a country where they help disabled immigrants learn new trade?
So the idiot won the election. Shit. -_-
I can tell right now that these next 4 years are gonna suck really bad.

Bernie brought in a lot of young voters and gave people a reason to like Hillary. Don't crap on him just because she lost.

Probably Canada. Or Sweden/Norway.

They first have to delete their posts about this being the end of the GOP and insisting Brexit circumstances are impossible in America.
So one of the biggest things that I'm confused about is how this will effect me, a 21 year old on my parents insurance, if Trump really is going to start going and repealing the Affordable Healthcare Act

Young voters didn't show up for Hillary and voted Trump so that is useless. And he called Hillary a phony owned by Wall Street and special interest so that hardly makes her likeabe.

hiding wall street speaches didn't help either bc of the impression it left.
This is absolutely terrifying. I've more or less gotten used to the shitty, populism-fueled stupidity in Denmark, but seeing it pop up in the UK and US with such force is freaking me the fuck out. 4 years of Trump! How the fuck did this happen?
Leaving the country because we lost is of course an option, but let's be real here. That's how elections go, that's how history changes, and there's people who cannot go for one reason or another.
Leaving the country to leave them to their misery is, imo, not the right message to send. The message right now should be we deal with this shit together and we fight back any and all inhumane non-sense that may come up. that's how this country works
They first have to delete their posts about this being the end of the GOP and insisting Brexit circumstances are impossible in America.
Well we know one of those came to pass, the jury is still out on the other and we have the nextfew years to see if Trump maintains the status quo or completes the work the tea party started in 2011.

They were both candidates for the nomination. It's pretty logical he would criticize her.
@dirt:
The worst part is confidently going to vote, and thinking it was a near certain win.
Too sick feeling to make lunch.
The worst part is having to do this four years from now and having to vote against someone, not for someone.

What would happen if Trump is found guilty in the rape trial next month? Would he lose the presidency?
@Medical:

He likely have to step down to avoid casting a bad pall over his presidency and then have Pence take his place. Which would actually work in the favor of the GOP.
@Medical:
What would happen if Trump is found guilty in the rape trial next month? Would he lose the presidency?
that was dropped I believe. I don't know if it was bc it wasn't true or she was threatened by his supporters and lawyer.
Still got fraud U tho

Those were legitimate criticisms and things we already knew. Before Bernie, what reason did anyone have to actually like Clinton?
Well I guess its a Trump kind of year.
Business will go on as usual.
So one of the biggest things that I'm confused about is how this will effect me, a 21 year old on my parents insurance, if Trump really is going to start going and repealing the Affordable Healthcare Act
I suggest moving to a State that has State Insurance. Right now that's what I'm on, because Massachusetts understands the need for free health care for those who can't afford it.

our gov left his ballot for potus blank lol
Seeing it from afar (as far as Spain, mind you), every single serious info we got on Hillary, and by serious I mean info that's not coming from crazy zealots but serious journalists, didn't do her a single favour. She is painted as pure pro-establishment as it gets, Wall Street, and a super war monger (seriously, I didn't know she voted in favor of Irak's invasion. As a democrat, that should've been a huge red flag?).
That said, I don't even know if any of the people that voted against her factored any of this, seeing how you guys seem to have her in relatively high regards, so maybe that info is not true, or not relevant, or something else I'm missing?
I know I would've never voted Trump, but here we didn't see it as Good vs. Evil, we saw it as Evil vs. Even More Evil + Stupid + Racist Bigot + Homophoboe + . . .tons of stuff. But Hillary's side of the equation was definitely not "Good".
And btw, I see tons of regret against Bernie for going against Hillary; info we got around here actually says Bernie got sabotaged by the Democrats so Hillary would win the primaries. Is that true?
There's a silver lining to this. Comedy is gonna be absolutely fantastic over the next 4 years, like with Dubya and Bill. After the shock over the voters actually voting in a terrible meme candidate wears off, maybe we'll be ready for the rollercoaster this is gonna be. Can't possibly be as bad as we're expecting.
Those were legitimate criticisms and things we already knew. Before Bernie, what reason did anyone have to actually like Clinton?
The better question to ask is what reasons did people not have to vote for Hillary once the nomination had been decided.
Because wikileaks, emails, & Benghazi weren't one of them.

Yes the rape trial in Dec got dropped. The site I last looked at, Politico, did not name a reason for why it was dropped some rumors on internet was trying to say she made it up but again, Politico said no reason was given.
But the trial for fraud concerning Trump University on Nov 28 is still open.
I suggest moving to a State that has State Insurance. Right now that's what I'm on, because Massachusetts understands the need for free health care for those who can't afford it.
Maybe that's what I need to find, a good state … well no my social security is still at risk.
Condolences.
Now I am really scared to what will happen to my country. Duterte vs. Trump would be terrifying on our part.

Even a lot of us Liberals weren't that happy Hillary got nominated. I myself was a Bernie supporter. But I GLADLY voted for her over Trump, if for nothing else than we would get a female president, and to keep his ass out of the White House.

They'd probably get along just fine

I've known about that for a good 10 years and while it was a flagrantly questionable move
considering it wouldn't have hurt her had she voted against it. Ultimately that idiotic skirmish
and it's ensuing bloodshed is on the hands of W and his click.

No since the sabotage never actually occurred and was the idea of one person who resigned in part over it. What's even worse is that info was put out there by wikileaks who conviently and
very questionably leaked nothing relating to the RNC or Donald Trump during the later stages
of the race.
They'd probably get along just fine
Haha on a personal basis with Putin being their other friend? I would grant you that.
My country prime minister is really optimistic about Trump being president…

Both of them do have besties for life potential. They're both racist clowns.
So I am at work, decide to check up the results, about to send Clinton Vic….
Wtf
KKK approved candidate wins
How exactly will this affect us? (Georgia) Or anything near Russia.
…
Seriously, listening to The Profits of Doom has never felt this relatable :/

Bias did occur, and that's a problem.
We know that Wikileaks is far from neutral, but the whole "they didn't leak anything on Trump" argument really falls flat. They leak what people give them to leak, and their recent leaks obviously did come from biased sources, but you can't really condemn Wikileaks for not having exclusive Trump info to leak.
You can condemn them for being clearly biased against Clinton, so just do that. :P

hey man, didn't expect to meet a compatriot in this thread. LOL.
@le:
Both of them do have besties for life potential. They're both racist clowns.
But our PM is a muslim. Trump won't be friends with him.:ninja:
I'm sure he's secretly glad that there is no candidate in our country that can pull a trump on him.
hey man, didn't expect to meet a compatriot in this thread. LOL.
We are a rare species.:ninja:
Bias did occur, and that's a problem.
Bias was hinted at having occurred in Nevada and I think New York during the primaries, neither of which was
proven. And then of course you have the emails that came out prior to the DNC which everyone buying into
keeps insisting Hillary colluded with the DNC to screw Bernie to the wall…..which also was never proven.
We know that Wikileaks is far from neutral, but the whole "they didn't leak anything on Trump" argument really falls flat.
It would fall flat if almost the entirety of the infomation that came out didn't have anything to
do with Clinton or anyone associated with her, all the while Assange kept insisting he had no grudge against her or was trying to get Trump elected. But as that wasn't true we're now here in part because of this.
They leak what people give them to leak, and their recent leaks obviously did come from biased sources, but you can't really condemn Wikileaks for not having exclusive Trump info to leak.
If they're constantly leaking information that does or doesn't not pertains to Hillary Clinton,
most of which in turn isn't even remotely bad, but a guy like Trump who has enough skeletons to fill every closet on Trump tower is left alone and this in turn influences an election like it just did that's a problem.
You can condemn them for being clearly biased against Clinton, so just do that. :P
No I'll condemn them for that and being one of the many different players that just screwed us raw.
Well i think irans superme leader is happiest about trump winning all his predictions about usa betraying iran are gonna come true
I'm sure he's secretly glad that there is no candidate in our country that can pull a trump on him.
Don't go giving Jamal Yunos ideas.
Trying to stay positive…
1. as pointed out, comedians like Steven Colbert will get plenty of material.
2. Keith Olbermann on The Closer will still have plenty of material to cover.
3. tourism has a chance to rise. That is Tourism by Americans going overseas

Among other things, Bernie said that Hillary is unfit for the presidency and that his voters don't owe it to her to vote for her in the general.
Here's my little two cents/ramblings about tonight, the campaign, etc…
I agree with Robo, don't blame Bernie for tonight. He had no reason to concede to "Queen" Hillary just because she said "it's time to move on with the campaign, already, it's MY turn now"! I think Bernie had the momentum and energy to really unify people, fight against the Billionaire Class, and be an authentic change-agent. My dad and I supported him through small donations, he didn't take big money, like Hillary did. He never did and even though he would have had to to fight Trump, it wouldn't have been a fraction of the amount the Hillary grossed.
You really think Hillary was going to go after those Big Bad Wall Street folks, you know, the ones she was practically in bed with for years and years? Yeah right. The email thing was ridiculous indeed, but she made it a bigger deal than it should have been by being all secretive about it.
Before I go on further, I just want to specify that I am very left-leaning and would never, ever go republican, even for a protest vote, which apparently was a rather large cohort in this election. If people really wanted a progressive agenda, they should have voted for Jill Stein. My dad and I voted for her and are proud stand with our decision because she embraced all of what Bernie believes in and talked about throughout his campaign, and more. (If you wanted a woman president, you could have had one, PLUS a Black vice president too!) The fact that she, Gary Johnson (who I never supported, at all, for the record) and perhaps others, were not allowed to debate on stage to share their views and positions with a large percentage of mainstream voters is very upsetting and says something about our "democracy".
But anyways, back to Bernie. He is an amazing, honest, non-waffling politician and a great person, I unfortunately can not say the same thing for Hillary Clinton. Apparently the American people thought similarly tonight, but instead voted for an absolute monster. They did the exact opposite of what they should have done. Does anyone really thing Trump cares about the working class or fight Billionaires. The ma care only about his image and ego... but I'm rambling you all know that and and have been inundated with it just as much as I have. I still can't fathom how he made it through the primaries, he like in some sort of bubble that NO ONE or NOTHING can penetrate. I just don't........ get..... it.....
Should have been Bernie out there, he would have cleaned Donald Ducks clock and made him look like a fool. Too bad the DNC was swayed by her (possibly with Hillary Buck$) to be their awesome "change" candidate. Didn't help that vanilla, conservative-leaning Tim Kaine was her running mate. But at least he spoke ¡en español!
Man... what a confusing, disorienting, ugly, bizarre time this truly is, eh.... Oh, soorry trying to practice my Canadian, eh.
I wouldn't be so nervous if it wasn't for Trump
It's like some kind of comedy skit where something awful could happen and someone goes "there's only a 2% chance that could happen, don't worry!" And immediately we watch a series of Rube Goldberg like events leading directly to that thing nobody wants happening
felt like this was worth quoting bc i can't sleep
I've always wanted to travel.
Too fucking infuriated to cook. Don't trust not throwing the knife at things.
