Anyone consider that this is possibly a pun on Oda's Part?
"Storm" could refer to Luffy's infamous move that Luffy defeated Crocodile with.
If Luffy does Gomu Gomu Jet Storm or Gomu Gomu Giant Storm, I will crap myself.
Not sure if anyone knows this, but most of Luffy's finishing moves are associated with old Japanese legends (or old legends in general)
For example, it's said that cats cannot stand the sound of bells (Kuro)
Wootz steel is made by slagging steel that has absorbed carbon from rosewood chips and clay. After the jars are heated, the original Iron is very brittle and easily slagged by a hammer. (Krieg)
In Japan, it's a folklore myth that sharks must swim straight. To kill them, they will often leave blades in rows that the sharks will run straight into and cut their skulls open on. (Arlong)
A Storm in the Desert is a sign of good luck. (Crocodile)
Enel's defeat doesn't count because it has to do with a legend in the One Piece World (Ringing of the bell) and not our world. However, it MAY vaguely refer to the coming of the angels by the ringing of the bell during the day of judgement.
Any other defeats aren't really major. Buggy, Wapol, Bellamy and Mr. 3 were all defeated in a similar manner by Luffy. None of them were much of a threat (Other than the fact that luffy's stupid.
They say Panthers hate Rain. Maybe that has to do with what Zoro meant? Well, certainly, he could have meant something more metaphorical, but you never know…
Anyway, has it been discussed what Chopper said any? "I can't move my body!" Perhaps the water in Enies Lobby/Impel Down is enhanced with some kind of anti-DF technology? Seastone salt, or something? Even in the rain and crap, Luffy and Chopper did just fine, so for Chopper to be inhibited by water must mean that it carries some extra potency.
