Chapter 839: "I Shall Never Forget The Debt That I Owe You"
-
Germa eagle same as the Nazi eagle…..pretty much....
Germa = Nazis..
-
Thanks Brotato! Couldn't wait to read it.
-
Can't wait to see these fuckers get their asses beat, Oda is doing a great job making me want it to happen more, and more each chapter.
I enjoyed the chapter, like I said above, it was mainly to make Sanji family even biggers assholes than before, I'm guessing those dudes at the end are clones, and seem to look like some of their bro soldiers(looks like each row has a different body type).
-
Here we go!!! Thanks MS
-
Decent chapter fleshing out the personalities of the Vinsmoke family in contrast to Sanji but not a lot more than that. Curious to see if the apparent growing of soldiers serves a plot purpose or is ultimately just further characterization.
-
Such a great chapter! Sanji's chivalry, Zeff flashback, and the Vinsmoke, when they were first introduced i didn't felt anything, i thought they were just plain boring. But this chapter turned everything around. Those are just the type of villain i love to hate, it did not happen since Charlos at Sabaody.
-
Clones? Didn't see that one coming. o.o What happened when Niji kicked Sanji? It looked like he stopped, but the pressure from it knocked down Corsette?
And was it me, or was the art especially good this week?
-
So what's with the title changing a couple of times in the spoilers and being completely different again on Mangastream? Some confusion as to exactly which line from Chapter 68 is being quoted?
I suppose it'll take the Viz release to clear this up fully.
-
Poor Sanji. He's way in over his head atm. Can't escape or he'll lose his hands and Zeff will be killed…
-
The most mysterious sibling atm is Reiji. She seems fascinated by Sanji. I bet she waits how things will turn out and join the winning Team in the end. She is a blank White paper to me right now.
Also interesting are the world maps in the Background of the Dining room (everything else screams "NAZIS!"). Are the maps showing North blue? Both sides of the world wouldn't fit, cause there is no proper redline on either of them. -
now it's explained how the germa 66 army is made of "mostly all males"..they clone them so they don't need to have an equal number of males and females (actually the perfect balance on a nation should be more female than male)
Oda really went hard with the nazi imagery…good character focus chapter even though he didn't really gave us anything that we did not already knew..but probably the less "hardcore" fans needed a refresh -
So, Matrix, anyone? :P
-
I don't get why they never react to his sister clearly being tolerant of Sunkist's ways.
-

well we alreeady have clones in the series (pacifistas)
-
I can't understand why Yonji showed Sanji that room. What was he trying to do? That Sanji realises they have an advanced cloning technology in order to conquer North Blue? Perhaps Yonji will join him?

To fuck with him and/or to show that the common people are truly worth nothing because we can just grow more.

technically he is showing him where niji is
-
The chapter is better than I expected. Just a little disappointed in Vinsmoke family. No charisma at all. Niji is a total dickhead.
I guess Sanji has to kill them or they will get to Zeff. It's unacceptable to Sanji. The only way is to kill them or make them powerless.
Reiju is definitely up to something. She is the only one that looks different… like she is a better person. Also she helped Luffy who recently beat Doflamingo. And she knew how powerful current Luffy is. No way Vinsmokes would be able to handle with him. -
Thank you! More questions appear with each chapter. It just made me forget about Luffy and Cracker, hope the next chapter gives more information about Vinsmokes and reveals the purpose of that room.
-

Well he said they tried to get into that room all the time as kids, implying they were all doing it together, or at least were aware of each other's attempts. Judge must have made if off limits cos they were too young or whatever, and they weren't having that. Yonji wants to show off a bit, let Sanji know he's grown up and has clearance to see the secrets of Germa Nation. Maybe he hopes it'll win Sanji over to the Germa lifestyle, but probably it's just for his ego.
-
The Zeff threat just makes matters worse for Sanji. Even if Sanji frees himself of his shackles, he still can't defy The Judge because it would mean the end of Zeff.
This leads me to believe that we will likely see the Big Mom Pirates turn against Germa at some point, which will entirely free Sanji from their threats. Because the chapter strongly suggests that the Big Mom Pirates will be the assassins operating on Germa's behalf.
Now the whole business with the clones (cyborgs?) raises a few questions. Are they alive? Will they require Big Mom's DF power to give life to an otherwise lifeless puppet? Probably the former because otherwise there would be no point in keeping them in those vats.
Lastly, the last one's resemblance to Vergo seems too much of a coincidence, yet at this point could very well be. Or at least a troll. Because Vergo being some sort of ex-Germa bred soldier raises quite a few questions in its own right that aren't easy to answer.
-
I don't get why they never react to his sister clearly being tolerant of Sunkist's ways.
They probably assume she's being facetious… and she probably is.
-
This is pretty much all I can think about after reading this chapter's ending.
!

And she knew how powerful current Luffy is. No way Vinsmokes would be able to handle with him.Reiju and Yonji are probably going to turn good…ish when all is said and done. Yonji is just a young fellow trying to act tough, when he really isn't that tough, and, like you said, Reiju simply acts...different than her other siblings, even in the flashback, she only chuckled.

Those are robots, not clones.
I thought they were based on a human base.
Atleast the Kumabot is.
-
Naming your kids by numbers… Are they all clones of the Judge!?
Mother figure is suspiciously absent.
-

they bleed
they are clones of kuma with cyborg implants@Razh:Naming your kids by numbers… Are they all clones of the Judge!?

wouldn't they look exactly like him in that case?
that's what clones are, exact copies, instead of just having some of the genes like normal children -

I think Kuma is a cyborg and the other Pacifistas are just robots based off of his looks.
-
why chapter title changed !!
-
I think Kuma is a cyborg and the other Pacifistas are just robots based off of his looks.
It was revealed on Shabondy they all (or at least one of them) have human base, just like the original.
-
well we alreeady have clones in the series (pacifistas)
Pacifistas, doflamingos, germas, biscuits,
-
That is a nice evil nazi organisation headquarter… room. Thought Father Vinsmoke will turn his chair around any minute and demand 1000000 million Berry from the WG over a big monitor.
-

I take that as them being based off Kuma, not that they have actual human parts. Besides PX-0, of course.

Franky clearly states that they bleed so they have a human base just like him..at least the pacifista the strawhats took down
-

that's what clones are, exact copies, instead of just having some of the genes like normal childrenThere are ways to make each of them unique. They might be more expensive versions as opposed to more cheaply made foot soldiers.
They might not be clones, per se, but articially bred by gene mixing.
Anyway, the implication isn't quite there yet, but there's enough indications to raise a brow.
-
What an chapter for me… Sanji's potrayal was absolutey great. That's everything I love about him... But so was showing what scum the Vinsmokes are.
The cliffhanger is interesting as well... I bet we won't see it next chapter and we will change to Luffy again.
About Niji... Yonji already was beaten but Niji will be so fucked up by Sanji... That's for sure... I'm close to believing he will take them down one by one
What's a bit strange... Reiju is somehow not looking as cruel as the rest and somehow still admriring Sanji's words.
-
Well the Vinsmoke characters are written so that the reader dislike them. It is a bit caricatural for me. But well, Sanji acts like the real prince in the eye of the reader which is quite ironical.
Also the people who takes their royal title to such high degree are ready to get rid of it to fulfill their dream of taking back their kingdom :-)
Otherwise it was nice to see Zeff back, Germa underestimate him a little. I'm not sure it would be that easy to kill him. -
So how farfetched Vegapunk being Judge's uncle/brother/whatever giving the whole lol science thematic of Germa?

Vegapunk is actually Grandfather Vinsmoke; Vinsmoke Vegapunk hype! :ninja:

Well, his birthplace is supposed to be on Karakuri Island on Grand Line.

Damn it, I forgot that.

Judge says they'll have a lunch with Big Mom. Hopefully there's gonna be some introduction to Big Mom's hierarchy. Also, I hope that Cracker shows up there being badly beaten.
-
So technically speaking if Sunkist were to marry big mom's daughter, wouldn't that put him higher up in the hierarchy than his father?
Not that would be a plotplot. But still seems a little poorly thought out by the father

very farfetched since the vinsmoke are from the north blue while vegapunk is native to the grand line@wolfwood:

not really, several people are married to BM's daughters..and not everyone can be high ranked because of that…capone is married to one and he is just a subordinate with no real power
-
Pretty nice tribute to Kochikame on the cover! I wonder if this chapter's title was also a message from Oda to Akimoto.
-

Capone seems fairly high up on the chain. Relatively speaking.

don't think he is either but a subordinate fighter, but even then,we know that basically if you wanna be a part of the crew you AHVE to be married to a son or a daughter…and not everybody can be an high rank because then nobody would be high rank :P
