I am really loving the quality Toei is putting in lately! This apparent new standard for higher quality episodes has been refreshing! Combined with the new opening, eye catchers, it feels like a completely different series than it was just 10 episodes ago!
One of the many things One Piece anime has always been lacking is inspiration, but Zou in these last 3 episodes have been the most inspired One Piece has ever been! I noticed the changing artstyles within the same episodes in the Zou arc, while some may say that's bad, I say it's a good thing! Being inconsistent allows these animators to have artistic freedoms, which allows them to better describe an aesthetic. Almost every scene has been displaying some unique aesthetic that really makes every scene "pop". Whether it's fluid frames to describe action scene, animated character movements to achieve comedy, beautiful skies and backgrounds, detailed faces to describe emotional expression, every scene has something beautiful about it! It really appears that the animators worked on these scenes not because their employers told them to, but because they genuinely cared about it!
These last 3 inconsistent episodes have been beautiful works by Toei!
