So, I've linked to various stock character pages on Wikipedia that contain examples of popular stereotypes; I'd like you all to brainstorm or think back to possible influential works that first introduced those sterotypes; I mean, if the current incarnations of those characters are good, I could only imagine how utterly glorious the originals might be. If you know the actual source material, please do not hesistate to say so.
Additionally, the source material CAN be historical in nature and need not be fiction based. For example, the popular "southern feud" sterotype was popularised by newspaper articles on a real-life feud between two families who recently made up together several hundred years after the feud started.
