While Big Mom seems to care about equality among everyone, her desire to make all her children giants to match with her seems more like a plan to subject everyone under her family's tyranny. Everyone's equal - at the bottom of the ladder.

Also, I never thought the old plotline of the giant kids would actually come into play once again. Although if Big Mom does end up getting addicted to "candy", it'll hardly be much of a departure from her current state.

And I don't get the hate for the forest. I did find the last page genuinely disturbing, and it was my least favorite moment of the chapter, but One Piece has always been a manga about exploring new locations. If it was just "Germa setup -> wedding -> end" people will only look at this arc as a soulless battle arc that fails to expand the world of One Piece. And if you want a soulless battle manga, then you probably shouldn't read One Piece.
