I'm scared to know what Mineta's room looks like
It just like Professor Xavier's Mansion. Todoroki is so obviously edgey it is kinda disappointing. Isn't like bad with that Dark Shadow of his?
What would've been hilarious is if someone acted like Mineta with the express purpose of scaring off any potential viewers.
Also, you'd think Tokoyami would want a more brightly lit room, given how his Quirk works. The reference to an item from middle school makes me think someone may still be in their Chunibyo phase.
What would also be funny is it Bakugo's room was just as shriney as Deku's.
Also in before Todoroki 's is half and half, and possibly includes a photo of his mother.
The rooms I am most looking forward now is Hagakure and Satou for some reason.
So if the dorms are like Xavier's mansion, how long till it get trashed?
And nice to see the reflection of presonalities put onto the dorms. Also as someone who wore glasses I sympathize with Iida's multi glasses, he just took it one step to far, as always.
I am enjoying this manga so damn much that, before this chapter ended, I was actually hoping the next chapter would be just showing each kid's room.I just didn't get the part with Bakugou and Kaminari. What was that?

Bakugo forced Kaminari to short circuit into dullard mode to try and cheer people up (and it certainly worked on Jirou)
It's rather fitting that even when he trying to be nice Bakugo is still an asshole to SOMEBODY. I also liked his paying Kirishima fit the night vision goggles.

Oh, that makes a lot more sense. I thought Bakugo mugged Kaminari for the money.

Oh, it was THAT? I would have never guessed on my own. I was also thinking he took Kaminari's money, but the shock part didn't fit. Well, Bakugou gets some points in my list then. Thanks.

Gotta remember, Bakugo's an ass, but he's not a crook. He wouldn't do anything like that, if for no other reason than to prevent it smearing his record.
Well, this was avery fun chapter.
We needed this chapter, and it was good. Very good. Laughed out loud at the Tokoyami gag, the panneling was great. The over dramatical ending was just the icing on the cake.
Tokoyami is making a big push for best non-Tsuyu character.
Y'know, the idea of Mineta showing a girl his room put me in mind of Saturday Night Live's "The Continental" sketches.
Kirishima's line about Tokoyami's keychains are definitely a subtle chunibyo reference. Kirishima's just too nice to say it in a more insulting way.
Also, Denki must still have some of his wits about him to be able to pun about "fadeawayyyy"s. I really don't think the implication is that Bakugo mugged him (wouldn't make sense when he says he doesn't want to come off as cheap, except in some weird cognitive dissonance way). He did it to cheer up the group and/or to initially extract the info about the nightvision binoculars and their price, which had to come from somewhere.
I thought the stuff with Kaminari was to create a distraction, so nobody would see Bakugou being nice to Kirishima.

That could be it. My interpretation that it was too cheer them up was mustn't due to Jirou's reaction.
I thought he forced Kaminari to tell him about the rescue plan (like how much money they spent on it), since Kaminari is friends with Kirishima.
Loved the chapter and the rooms, kinda expecting to see Kirishima´s full of posters and sculptures of STRONG MANLY GUYS, a la Equius from Homestuck. He´d be proud of it but it´d made others refuse to approach his room as much as possible
Great chapter. Anyone notice that Mina and Ochako took some glasses from Iida's room? They're wearing them when they're petting the rabbit. –---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------What's this Chunibyo people are mentioning?

A phrase coined by a series of the same name. It translates roughly to "eighth grader syndrome" (middle school second year to be exact) and refers to a tendency of youngsters in a certain age group to get overly caught up in personal fantasies to the exclusion of reality.
Tokoyami's room combined with the reference to keychains from middle school imply this is true of our favorite black chocobo.
In a world where superhero is a legit profession, would that make Chunibyo more likely, less likely, or just less noticeable?

Well, Megaman and Super Mario are canon are this world…
We better see everyone's rooms.
I think Mineta's room would look quie alike to Milluki's, just with overly sexualized female hero figurines and maid/bunny outfits.
This chapter was just too funny! Anyone else catch that Aoyama has a portrait of himself up in his room?
He´s Cavendish Jr. allright
the portrait was okay, i lost it at the number of mirrors in his room.
I was mostly focused on the disco ball.

I was super sad when the anime did away with the goomba, koopa troopa, and thwomp silhouettes…
Next season, we'll have to see if Izuku refers to his wall kicks as being reminiscent of Mega Man X.

I was actually expecting an exact copy of Midoriya's room. Except with pictures of himself instead of All Might.

That series didn't coin it. It's a term that's existed for many decades in Japan. And superpowers existing more or less legitimizes the chuuni mindset since they do actually have special powers.
Since this room thing expanded to another chapter, something is probably going to happen there. Maybe the traitor is one of the class A students and Midoriya will notice something weird in one of the rooms (or maybe the traitor was the one to came up with this idea to plant something in the other rooms).@El-Matematico:
I thought the stuff with Kaminari was to create a distraction, so nobody would see Bakugou being nice to Kirishima.
I guess this is the best explanation. Before he did that, we saw through Bakugou eyes and he was focusing at Kirishima. The paneling (?) wouldn't make much sense if he decided to act to cheer the others since they were not the focus of his attention just before.

Overall, it appears the anime is avoiding using real brand names. It appears McDonalds became Mickey D's or something (unless that was just the subbing).
Yeah, that was just the subbing (Funi changed it but Viz didn't… Silly Funi. I did your work for you already!). The spoken dialogue remained "makku," and wasn't changed to one of the various faux-McDonalds names. Maybe that's not an issue in Japanese because "makku" is already a nickname, and probably not a registered trademark?@.access:

Going along with these ideas, Horikoshi giving us the whole floorplan makes me weirdly hopeful for a bottle-episodish sleuthing mini-arc (to find the mole, presumably). The train chapter of Paper Mario: TTYD immediately came to mind for some reason. Should we already be looking for clues in the highly-detailed room spreads? It's just hard to imagine that the layout (aka who's on which floor, who's next to whom) won't become relevant, and we already know that Nezu has ulterior motives for the dorm system, so he might've installed bugs and cameras.
Aizawa real talk was good. Glad the sneak out was addressed. The principle is planning something good. Nice try trying to get the reader to forget about it mangaka. Tokoyami's room wins with Iida second, but looking forward to Aoyama's room more in the anime. Mineta's room is probably full of idols and fat ass posters. Maybe a mirror on the ceiling. Uraraka's room is gonna be cute. Jirou (music shrine) and Ashido (something wild) will have the best rooms on the girls side.
Going by Jirou's reaction, she probably has something really embarassing in her room.
I'm looking forward to seeing Invisible girl's room because I have no idea what it's going to look like. We don't know much about about her aside from that she's pretty happy go lucky and might be and villain conspirator
You all said it best, hilarious chapter. Even though I could see Mineta's room having a ~special~ focus. The delivery was priceless. It would be cool if the villains headquarters had customized bedrooms as well.
I got Hajime no Ippo vibe from the chapter especially at the end. Every tense boxing match is followed by a down time of crazingly silly chapters and adventures.Shadow has the most brooding room ever. That's a kid batman room if I ever saw one. Deku is Geeking as you would think. Actually less since I expected some books with other heroes and notes about people all around. Laser is what you can expect. Considering the lack of surprise I'm looking forward to invisible girl since I really have no idea what it will be. I hope it won't be to plain.
Was there some specific school rule that would prohibit the kids from going somewhere on their free time to find a friend? They specifically avoided confrontation and using their quirks to fight to avoid getting in trouble. How could they be expelled for off school after hours activities?
I think that was more about the intent of the rule than the wording. Even if they didn't break any explicit rules, they endangered themselves in a way that's hard for the school to abide, especially considering the surrounding circumstances. If I were one of their educators, I'd definitely feel it necessary to reprimand them, especially since they tried to explicitly circumvent the rules.
goddammit tokoyami and mineta
this chapter gives me grade school vibes, used to live in a camp with my class
The thing about whether it was a rule-breaking thing or not is moot, Aizawa said teachers could expel anyone, as long as he deemed them as having zero chances, and the kids have had a lot of reprimands along the way, they should know this PD. I'm one of the few who thinks they did the right thing, everytime. But the adults in the manga think otherwise, so whatever.
It turning out rigth doesn't make it rigth. They endangered themselves, and if the villians weren't in the ropes they could have very easily be taken down by one of the villians and give them the opening to kill all migth.
That was a lot of fun. Lots of really fun small things. I loved Bakugou giving the money back to Kirishima. I loved the little panels when they tried to enter Tokoyami's room and everyone else's room. Just like the hero names chapter, it's a really fun way to the give the characters personality.

If sitting around and watching people die without doing anything to help is the "right" thing, then I don't want to be right.
If sitting around and watching people die without doing anything to help is the "right" thing, then I don't want to be right.
That's largely Deku's logic most of the time. The issue is more that there was far more potential for them to do harm than good. Right or wrong, regardless of how things turned out, they had no business being there at all.
