Pedro isn't a ninja.
Next Strawhat Crewmate (Vol. 6)
-
Pedro isn't a ninja.
-
Part of my argument is the basis that Pedro is a NINJA. Do you understand what a ninja is? I'm honestly asking.
WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES PEDRO BEING A NINJA (which he isn't btw) MAKE
-
@Monkey:
You're seriously considering this.
Even with the AGOG gibbet cage at the gates.
Heck you're initiating it, even he didn't do that.–- Update From New Post Merge ---
loll, AGOG was betting against ME.
Oh. I see. I didn't recall who AGOG lost too. Were you Zephos or Monkey King then?
-
Look guys, do you understand? Rabian IS A MAGIC CARPET. Why can't you see the point I'm making here??????
-
After Jinbei joins I could care less who the last crewmate is but I do hope they join sooner rather than later. My crackpot wish would be for Vivi but eh… I really just want to see her updated interactions with the Strawhats.
Robin: "Sorry for trying to destroy your kingdom. Dat history tho!"
Vivi: "S'all good. Hey Brook, sorry for trying to kill Laboon."
Brook: "......... WHAT!?"
-
@Monkey:
hosemisnuba stares into the dead sockets of AGOG's years old skeleton as it sways in the wind
Hose: Bearious…I'm not so sure this is the right direction...
Bearious: What??? Are you crazy? This is the most correct way there ever was!
Hose: N-no, no man, I can't keep doing this. I'm out.hose backs away slowly then breaks into a full sprint, vanishing around the corner
Bearious: FINE! We don't need you, we don't need any cowards on the Night's Watch!!This was actually somewhat amusing. Traitor!
-
Part of my argument is the basis that Pedro is a NINJA. Do you understand what a ninja is? I'm honestly asking.
what gave you this idea exactly?
because all of what we have seen of him is that he's probably a fencing style swordsman. -
@Cyan:
WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES PEDRO BEING A NINJA (which he isn't btw) MAKE
Calm down buddy. I think a future Strawhat will be a ninja. So since I think Pedro is a ninja he could be that ninja to join.
Why isn't Pedro a ninja to you?
-
I think a future Strawhat will be a ninja.
Why
Why isn't Pedro a ninja to you?
Guy who stands in trees a lot =/= ninja
There was already an actual goddamn ninja on Zou.
-
I think a future Strawhat will be a ninja. So since I think Pedro is a ninja he could be that ninja to join.
okay, so he's a ninja just because you want him to be a ninja… you have no facts at all to support your claim?
how old are you? -
Pedro is badass? How? What the hell did he even do aside from being a exposition tool? Seriously pedro following is becoming worst than the every-pretty-face-for-nakama following.
The question at this point isn't whether Pedro will join ( which he really really isn't) rather its why ANYONE would want him to join? He is literally one of the most forgettable character Oda has ever created, and i simply don't get what kind of appeal do his fanboys see in him.
-
Just another breast for nakama trend, let's see if lasts longer than Hancock or Becca.
Btw, hope we get to see more of the real nakama-possibility: Bobbin:wub:
-
The day when the last crewmember joins and we can put a proverbial bullet in threads like this' head will be a very happy one.
-
what gave you this idea exactly?
because all of what we have seen of him is that he's probably a fencing style swordsman.I've stated many reasons on why I think Pedro is a ninja. Click my name…look up my posts. PM me your questions if you want. To answer part of your inquiry, Pedro seems to have seen with two different swords: machete/dao/bolo sword and saber/rapier.
Point of bringing up the bet was because this is...silly. I mostly argue against @Robby or @Monkey King about this. And I tire of just debating their tag team. This is a 2 vs 1 handicapped match with outside interference helping the tag team.
-
Pedro is not a ninja, he is a jaguar who stalk their pray.
Just because someone has traits of stealth doesnt mean they're a ninja.
Nico robin isnt a ninja. Sanji isnt a ninja. Absalom isnt a ninja.
-

im not gonna argue with you, i just wanted to know why you thought he was a ninja. because it's kind of a specific assumption to place on a minor character that never really showed any signs of being a ninja.
-
Yes, its a handicapped match because there is nothing behind it to support it. At all.
-
le crystal's advice: Bear, don't do it.

It will be fucking amazing if the rumored Mink traitor turns out to be Pedro.
Way more satisfying theory destruction than Perona not jumping on the Sunny after the timeskip lolll -

pick a ninja from wano then some minks most likely live there as well due to the alliance between the 2 kingdoms a ninja mink on wano that hides their body so that people don't know they're a mink until they take their mask off to show the straw hats or you could pick the ninja that we have actually seen raizo.
the current minks are just going to make a mink alliance crew that follows the straw hats around.

This link describes techniques of NINJA hiding in a forest.Expect hiding in places does not always mean a ninja at all. And besides ninjas do more than hide in trees. If you want a true ninja, there's Raizou. And besides Pedro is just another character tagging along with the Strawhats. I have nothing against him, and of course I don't see him joining at all. (Reasons are what the others were saying about him.)

See you next week.

If Pedro was the traitor why would he not lead Jack to Raizo? He was also super beat up by him

I think pudding joining would be pointless if she doesn't bring a new interaction with Sanji and we just get another nami and robin. She even has an unneeded job since the crew already has a chef. Honestly, I think the main reason people want Pudding is to give Sanji some new gags and interactions with female characters and some much needed character development. The excessive flirting with every female is rather boring after 800 chapters. Brooke accomplished his gag dream this chapter of seeing Nami's panties, so why not let Sanji accomplish his dream of getting a woman.
May be she can keep him in check like how Lola 2 did among the Bege Pirates with that robo-arm guy

http://www.ninjaencyclopedia.com/techniques/tactics.html! The application of double agents
As this is emphasised in the art of war book by " Sun Tzu (孫子) ", double agents were very significant for the governance in spite of it being risky because only convenient and false information would be transmitted to enemies through them. Through such tactics, ninja masters could control their enemies however they liked. Double agent ninjas could be made by means of persuasion of the hostile ninjas whom ninja masters captured but in this case it was important not to be off guard because there was always the possibility that the double agent ninjas betrayed their ninja masters again. As a measure for the case, ninja masters signed a written oath or they gave them wives. If they had some children, their families themselves could be made hostages to ensure they never betrayed the ninja masters.
Ninja masters had other tactics to utilize hostile ninjas. Even if ninja masters found spies, they did not arrest the spy ninjas always. Ninja masters would pretend not to have been noticed that they were spies. At that time, ninja masters would leak the wrong information casually to them. Then, the hostile ninjas would bring it to their lords. If things went well, ninja masters could cheat their enemies. Besides, do you think Pedro is the traitor after crawling to plea for help to Sanji, Chopper, and Caesar Clown with a bloody face breathing poison? Seems counterintuitive to betrayal.Oh…speaking of that scene, how do you think Pedro escaped the crucifix? Strong Minkmen were the ones chained and tortured. One possibility is he is a ninja which helped him escape after going through torture.

He has nothing to do with it. Both King and I were joking. Maybe he was aiming the joke at BJ, maybe not. But I doubt he is serious about it … look at the lols at the end of both of our posts.
I even said its likely something innocent. We were making a joke because of how much others keep popping up and saying so-n-so (like it's Carrot!" (wtf) is the traitor.
Its the same vein as saying "hey look at Nitro the Jelly... he's unique and has a cool name, Nitro for Namaka!" Only instead of "X for namaka", we joke "X for traitor".

It is speculation not fanfiction. I am not making up a fan made story in an One Piece Alternate Universe. Just pointing out a POSSIBLE observation that MAY be in the One Piece Real Universe.
What other big cat minks hid in trees besides Pedro? :wassat:
-
Nope. You're just fanboying over Pedro and creating fan-fictions for why he might when the possibility is zero. You can try to slice it however you like but fan-fiction is fan-fiction.
-
Did that bear mink call Pedro captain? Maybe he was pirate captain at some point?
Also, if you want a ninja in the crew, the best one so far is Burgess. Even almost dead he still managed to sneak in the revolutionaries all the way to baltigo and none found him. Raizou got nothing on him.
-
All hail NinJesus!

Speculation without any real facts is just guess work. Continuing to state Pedro is a ninja just because he hangs out in trees is fiction.
What is there to observe? He is a jaguar, they hang out in trees. Big deal. It does not take a ninja to do that. -
Exactly. Just google image "jungle book baghera". This guys never touches the ground either.
-
The extensive citation of the "ninja encyclopedia" is really what sells this.
That and the insistance that you CAN'T prove he's not a ninja. Jesus christ.
-
he is a ninja that never did any ninja things, oh and hiding in trees is something that is exclusive to ninjas only.
"what if he was a traitor?" THEN HE IS SURELY A NINJA! -
Also, tell me if you saw your avatar without knowing who Kaku was, would you think he was an assassin or ninja?
I feel that this is the most telling of how you look at things, and I feel is a good jumping off point for what I want to say. Oda loves to give various quirks to different characters, as well as abilities. One big thing about this series is people do insane things all the time, and it may or may not mean that much. Just look at the fact that Kaido jumped off a Sky Island and survived with no scratches. That right there just shows how insane and strong he is. Now being in the new world we have to consider the fact that only certain feats will look impressive to show something off. Besides CP9, we've seen Sanji, Carrot, and Pedro do a high jump whether using sky walk or their natural ability. While visually cool, this doesn't mean anything impressive or imply anything. Heck, if we go by your logic Burgess must be a ninja/assassin because of the way he jumped down the plateau in Dressrosa. At this point we see people do crazy things every arc, and Oda usually does it because it gives impact or he really wants to draw it.
Other problem is how all the minks were presented. The minks have some different fighting styles, bit their quirks were based on what animal they were. Wanda as a dog likes to lick people and be very close, Carrot nibbles and can jump high like a rabbit, and Pedro gets to the top of places and hides because he's based off a jaguar. Just because his animal characteristics have a small resemblance to a ninja does not make him a ninja. Also, all the minks have a connection to Wano going by the way you talk about it, but only Inurashi and Nekomusashi really have that strong connection, having been there before. I could just as easily say he's more samurai than ninja because not only of the connection but because he uses a sword.
Last, you can only use sources about what a ninja is when you can actually show that it happened. Sourcing a bunch of stuff about ninjas using height means nothing in the grand scheme of things if Oda doesn't put a certain emphasis. Pedro gets to high places fast, and the context has been where he was getting a vantage point. None of those scenes gave an impression of stealth or hiding like the links you imply. Now look at Raizo and first how he has the ninja look. Then consider that he shows off what Oda would consider as a ninja, using ninjutsu and having the ninja star. Pedro has exhibited none of those. We have one Ninja to base off in this series, which means any other ninja would have to meet some sort of similarity there. Pedro has no similarities to Raizo, which means Oda is nowhere even implying Pedro could be a ninja. You can't just use random links to make a ninja theory, you have to go off what Oda has presented. If no ninja was presented you could make some speculations, but Raizo is meant to represent what Oda considers to be a ninja in this universe, so he has to be the benchmark.

@Monkey:
You're doing that thing where people just sort of blankly mimic the whole "hey I found inspiration in so and so", without even the slightest idea of what those people are thinking when they do it.
An incredibly small gag character in a pirate crew in a comic not about pirates is not going to be Oda's inspiration for anything.
The mere existence of a thing somewhere does not make "hey maybe Oda will think of it" a good argument whatsoever.
Congratulations on digging up an obscure niche character that kind of sort of does a thing related to a position you wish Oda cared about.I don´t care about the position, i just elaborated to you where I encountered such a position, which made me think of its existence.
Bringing up Oda might not have been a good move, but i just brought this character up so you would better get my perspective and that others might had an equal influence to think of it as a position.Sure maybe he'll take some Asterix influence and add it to Elbaph. And not this random crap that he already completely lacks references to whatsoever in his series.
Too bad one of those people hasn't been Eiichiro Oda, author of One Piece, in his manga where that has never ever come up. And noting the centrality and clear function of the roles each person has, that obviously will not be one.I wasn´t pro filling such a position in the first place, so i don´t want to argue that, but i doubt you know Oda well enough to be able to say what he might know and what not.
That it was not mentioned in the manga is the argument you should keep, but you could spare yourself references to Odas mind, even when you think you have some connection to it others hope to have.Nothing I'm doing is nitpicking. You're doing the reverse of this, stretching incredibly thin premises over your extremely flawed unfounded attempts to argue for Pedro.
If what I'm doing is looking like nitpicking, it's because you're basing your arguments on nits in the first place.
Which should tell you how weak they are.Your posts here have the tendency to fall into that "dissecting each and every word", while losing the main premise.
I wasn´t arguing for Pedro, it was just clarifying the "lookout-position".
You might have some grief with others here for arguing for Pedro, which made you put me in the same bandwagon, but again i was just clarifying that I understand that some see a lookout as a position on a pirate ship.
Obviously my arguments may appear weak, when you want them to be for something i don´t stand behind in the first place :)
