Indecision 2016 - In Soviet Russia, we elect american president!
-
obliteraTED .
-
Donald Drumpf is the Republican Nominee.
The Zodiac Killer dropped out.
I…. Don't know if this is a good thing or bad....
Means we won't get that contested convention that was being hyped up….which means boring unless Trump gets
the "Unlikeable Babyface in Philly" treatment. Also I hope Outerspec sauced them kicks up with his favorite marinade.
-
Once again, Carly Fiorina joins an organization and thousands of people lose their jobs a week later.
-
wow i can't believe america finally stopped the Zodiac Killer and we're stuck with a racist pumpkin instead
-
I've been away from the thread for a while so I'm not sure. Has Kasich dropped out already?
-
Kasich is still up and running.
-
At this point I imagine Kasich has all his delegates tied to chairs in an empty room somewhere, guarded by pacing men with shotguns.
-
Bernie needs to drop out immediately.
-
god what if ted comes back next time… please no.......
-
@Monkey:
Bernie needs to drop out immediately.
b-but…the superdelegates...!
-
-
I was looking forward to the contested convention. You can even buy votes there.

He's a horror movie character of course he's going to come back.

exclusive 2020 footage of the Cruz campaign
-
There must have been some serious pressure on Cruz to NOT have a contested convention sideshow. He might not have had the numbers, but there could have been a fight.
But yeah. Bernie needs to stop now. It stopped being cute a month ago, and if the Dems have a contested messy contest while the Republicans have a clean road, that's just… ugh.
So, who is Trump's VP gonna be?
-
So, who is Trump's VP gonna be?
Ted Cruz. Who will become president when Trump gets impeached.
-
-
Bernie not dropping out isn't going to change things. If you think Clinton hasn't been preparing for Trump you're wrong. If you think it will be a drain on resources, you're also wrong because she's got practically unlimited funding. If you think it will give Democratic voters time to reconcile the lose of the candidate they wanted you're also wrong because for the people who would, they're already prepared to do that and for the people who wouldn't, they're not changing their mind anyway.
Remember when you guys were stating like a fact that Trump would never get this far. Ever. Such political foresight. wow.
And I'm not saying Bernie can still win but he won Indiana today. People are clearly still very excited to get their chance to vote for him. The more people that do the better chance there is of his message influencing politics. He does no harm to anyone staying in the race.
-
That Trump wouldn't get this far was based on the idea that the party would have some competance and band together in some way earlier than… April. If they'd found an alternative back in January, if they hadn't had a dozen guys still on the floor on super Tuesday, if it hadn't been fucking Ted Cruz who everyone hates, Trump wouldn't be here.
-
So it was based on your opinion of what should happen rather than the facts of what was clearly happening. I know that already.
-
Bernie is doing harm since he keeps attacking the Democratic party in his speeches. The time has come and gone for him to preach his message. We get it now. I'm just waiting for him to fade into irrelevance.
-
Trump sure is a weird case. I can't really blame the republicans. Trump probably checked every possible box in the checklist on what not to do to win an election, so they all tought he would sabotage himself and decided to ride the path of destruction he was leaving, certain that at one point the voters would seek a better alternative and choose them. It's not so much a much a lack of foresight than Trump being immune to politics logic and the hard choice of abandonning your campain.
-
So yeah the Republican party as it's been since Goldwater is going to be gone by 2018 now. Gears are gonna shift from "damn gays and abortions and women" to "damn immigrants and China" full-stop.
-
Still waiting for Trump to turn around and say "It was just a
social experimentprank bro!" -
For the first time since the 30s, America has literal fascism brewing from the inside.
The dreams of Couhlin and Lindbergh shall never die!
-

That's not really true though because they all tried to steal bits and pieces of Trump and tone it down or rework it for their own campaign once they realized the kind of base they had been hyping up for decades. Trump is the symptom of the problem and the problem is the base. He's like the base incarnate. He said all the things out loud that republicans have just been implying or hinting at over the years so it makes sense that they would flock to him because he's the kind of candidate the Republican party claims to have always wanted.
It's not going to play out well in the general but I still don't think Trump had any intention of winning the whole thing. Losing to Hilary Rodham Clinton is expected for anyone the Republicans put forward. I think Trump winning the nomination only comes off as weird if you think that the party who has nothing but short term thinking actually had a long term political plan and that their base wasn't basically just racist horrible garbage people.
-
So the republican party chose a fascist hairpiece over a homophobic wax mannequin.

Exclusive footage of delegates escaping from Ted Cruz:

Tomorrow's Daily News front page.
!
-
Hey, I finally got a chance to use that Ted Cruz image that I've been sitting on for a while. Didn't expect that until the convention.
-
@Cyan:
Tomorrow's Daily News front page.
Seems 2016 has claimed another victim….though the victim in question was an asshole.
-
-
It gets funnier the more you watch it.
-
Between that cringe-inducing embrace and the face-hugger handshake with Fiorina, I don't believe that Ted Cruz knows how to Human properly.
-
@Rogues':

He doesn't.
Which makes it good that he's out of the presidential race. But it's bad because it means that Trump will be the candidate. This country is so fucked.
-
Welp, I was wrong. I can admit that. The GOP and their voters are worse off than I thought.
Also I hope Outerspec sauced them kicks up with his favorite marinade.
You know how some people used to believe if you swallowed gum it stayed in your stomach for 7 years? Well…that just might be true for a shoe.
-
Aaand we're down the rabbit hole. I was ultimately expecting Trump to wind up the nominee but it's still sort of surreal. Will be fascinating watching Republicans twist themselves into pretzels trying to rationalize voting for this guy.
I'm sure the GOP will learn from this experience and start making positive changes to…bwahaha I can't even.
@Robby:So, who is Trump's VP gonna be?
Christie probably, if not one of his kids lol.
-
I don't expect Christie to be the VP. I'm sure he'll be somewhere in Trumps "Shit I actually got this far" ensemble, however I doubt an establishment ass-kisser like him will be Trump's VP.
I'm guessing Carson. Gives Trump the opportunity to say "I have black friends, so I can't be racist", he was one of the less vocal (you'd have to be awake to be vocal) contenders as far as calling out Trump went. And then you have the whole "political outsider" thing which is really how I see Donald trying to clinch the presidency. Instead of a Clinton and some other "establishment" Democrat you can vote for a business man with his small loan of a million dollars and a brain surgeon. You know, normal everyday guys you wanna have a beer with.
-
I thought Carson at first, but I remembered his half-hearted endorsement consisting of "well if Trump's a terrible president at least it's only four years." Then again a Trump general election campaign depends on forgetting a whole hell of a lot of things that were said.
Whatever the case, I'm pretty sure his running mate will essentially be in a hostage situation.
-
@Cyan:
Between this and a Small Loan of a Million Dollars., the GOP has become a full-blown meme at this point.
-
I was in Indiana all week, you can thank me for Cruz dropping out!
-
Kayne West president in 2020 doesn't seem so far fetched now.
-
He doesn't.
Which makes it good that he's out of the presidential race. But it's bad because it means that Trump will be the candidate. This country is so fucked.
After 8 years of Bush/Cheney and nearly 6 with a tea party congress I like to think we're more than simply fucked. We're going to have a train run on us…...If somehow he manages to win in the general.
-

I'm worried he's GOING to win…...
Nobody thought he'd get this far in the first place, yet here we are.... Bernie is dividing the Democrat side leading to our good ole "Bern the House Down" voters who want to see us go up in flames if their golden boy doesn't get in....
Bernie Sanders (or at least his followers) are going to be responsible for the election of President Drumpf.... then watch as his first official act as president is to support repealing the first amendment. He already said he wanted to so it's easier to sue people who make fun of him.....
-
I think it's a little ridiculous to say that Bernie supporters are going to allow Trump into office (much less be responsible for it if that comes to pass). I think the vast majority of them would prefer Hillary over Trump, and they'll vote that way if necessary in the general.
If anything, Bernie is energizing the left (much like Trump is doing to the right), and it'll mean that more Dems will vote in the general than is typical.
-
Kasich is done. He's stuffed.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Trump actually did it.
-
There must have been serious pressure on them to not make a joke of the convention by contesting things or making it an actual fight.
So how respectfully is Bernie going to eventually bow out?
-
If your one of those college kids who is thinking of sitting out the election cause Bernie isn't going to get the nom. Then your a f*cking idiot.
Suck it up and vote for Clinton.
-
@Mr:
Kayne West president in 2020 doesn't seem so far fetched now.
The sad thing is I can actually see something like this happening in the far future.
Especially if Trump wins.
