I'm waiting for a timeskip and someone loses an eye
i want it to be Tadokoro so she can be a badass cinnabon
Food Wars - It's In the Trash

Chapter out.
http://readms.com/r/shokugeki_no_souma/162/3341/1Thank god Erina stop moping. It was getting annoying. Thank you Alice saying what i was feeling about Erina for the past 20 chapters.
Tsukasa is kinda a selfish dick. No wonder why nobody wants to be your sous chef.
-
Selfish, but at least he's super blunt about it.
I don't think that soma should win this one yet.
-
Against Tsukasa that fast? I hope he doesn't win, I'll call it bs.
-
it would be lame if soma wins. and it will be funny to see soma apologise to everybody that he has to join central
-
Facing off so soon, with the FIRST SEAT on the line??
Surely this is a lose flag. Like Luffy taking on Crocodile so early in the Alabasta desert.
That, or there will be an anti-cliffhanger troll moment at the start of the next chapter (Erina & Hisako stopping them before anything gets started). If the match goes ahead, I fully expect the "hero unwillingly joins the bad guys" trope to be the outcome, and NOT a BS win for Soma.
-
Unless the series is planning to end prematurely, I'm not expecting Soma to win now.
If the series is copping out, something's going to happen to either prevent the Shokugeki from happening or for them to draw.
If Soma does lose, I wonder who or what is going to bail him out? Erina saving him would be an interesting twist from the series, but I guess outside circumstances or other characters helping out would be interesting too. I'd even take a legal loophole or something as long as Soma actually does become his assistant for at least a little bit.
-
Alice continues to be leagues ahead of every other character.
This is actually a pretty interesting match, Soma obviously can't win but what's going to happen if he joins central. Hopefully it isn't n interrupted match or the results get ignored because it's not 'official'.
-
Ehh if Soma wins i'm %100 sure that something like its not a offical shokugeki etc will be thrown in and nothing will happen.
-
Either winning or losing does not seem feasible to the narrative right now so the best thing right now is to prevent the match IMO.
On the subject of the upcoming purges, we've got possible matches for some of the characters
Tadokoro (Local Cuisine RS)
Nikumi (Don RS)
Hayama (Shiomi Seminar)
Marui (Miyazato Seminar)
Kuga (Chinese Cuisine RS) -
They have no judges for this. I can't see it going anywhere.
-
Souma, what are you doing it? Erina, do something about it!
-
Soma joining Central & trying to change Tsukasa's way of thinking would be a quite interesting. If Soma can convince Tsukasa to not support Azami, we're one step closer to getting rid of Azami!
Admittedly, Tsukasa's selfishness isn't too out of place with all the chefs around.Everyone is indeed more concerned about improving their own cooking first and foremost. Soma can be quite selfish himself but he's willing to exchange cooking knowledge with his friends and help each other improve.
Tsukasa strike me as the lone wolf type that won't even listen to anyone cooking advices or even participate in cooking session among friends. He won't share any cooking knowledge but keep it all for himself…
-
So, or Soma loses or the duel is delayed. A lost would mean a way to learn more, which is something Soma needs. But he's a really free person, and it feels a bit odd to put him under the orders of someone else.
Aliceeeee!!!!
-
The thing is whatever happens, seats one to… 5? 6? will go after the end of this school year. So unless Azami manages to produce better cooks than the first year elite, or the other Rentaros are actually better, then his plan is doomed. Just eizan and the girl with the glasses (nono?) won't hold the fort if the central ideal fails to materialize.
Yeah, it can happen, but It's just too much of a gamble for a villian.
-
while i know that probably erina and friend are gonna get dragged into this, how thay plan to have a shokugeki without judges?
-
Erina and Hisako can be judges? And perhaps Rindou? She's not missing out on things like this..
-
Next chapter Rindou crashing through the door.
-
People were saying they didn't want to see Erina in a damsel in distress situation, this is a perfect chance to rectify that.
Soma doesn't necessarily have to save her by being a hero.
-
Hmm, I can see this playing out a few different ways. Most likely scenario imo would be Souma taking a loss but Tsukasa acknowledging Yukihira's cooking in the process and causing him to unsubscribe from Azami.
Another way I could see this playing out aside from some kind of interruption is Souma losing, getting sucked into central, and in a role reversal becomes the damsel in distress for Erina(?) to save. That would be fun. Probably too fun. Especially considering how things have been lately.
Souma pulling off a win though? Pretty much an impossibility at this point and I don't think anyone really wants that outcome anyway.

That would be hilarious.

Oh wow… haha.
! So more of Azami's grand plan of being a super very bad man gets unveiled. Turns out he aims to shut down all the restaurants in japan that don't hold up to his golden standard of cuisine. Yeah… well, okay then.
-
! A true era of culinary perfection when you cause mass starvation

! The evil in this is story is not evil but delusional.
! Ok now the young cook is going to save Japan… yeah -
@Purple:
! A true era of culinary perfection when you cause mass starvation
! Nah, Azami is trying to encourage people to learn how to cook for themselves. He doesn't want them to waste their money on eating out. Eating out cost more than making your own home cook meal.:ninja:
-
! That's not what is stated in the actual chapter. Once again spoilers messing up context.
-
@Purple:
! A true era of culinary perfection when you cause mass starvation
! Next stage of Azami's plan is to forbid free cooking in Janapese homes, enforce Central's recipies and teach Japanese police cooking auditory
-
! And so ends the Toriko prequel

! Me back in October:
! @Wagomu:
! > I swear, the author was one step away, with Azami, from writing a villain who was trying to make ALL COOKING ILLEGAL.
! I thought I was joking. -
-
Man I've given Azami the benefit of doubt but this is ridiculous. What the hell happened to this series? Was it not going in a good direction before?
-
I just want someone to make fun of asami's plan.
You could do it, but the amount of effort needed. The amount of enemies. The exodus of chefs, the rising numbers of "empty" bento shops. Dude, its not worth it.
Even if you triumph, you fail.
-
Ever since Azami appear, the whole mood of the story has radically change for the worst…There are still some good moments in this arc but whenever Azami on screen, I can't helped but roll my eyes..
Honestly, Tsukasa pissed me off. He wants to destroy people's livelihood just to further his own goal.
If weren't for the fact that he's the first seat, I would want Soma to utterly crush him.
But it's going to go the Shinomiya and Subaru route. Where Soma's cooking would make Tsukasa rethink his decision...:getlost: -
This is one of my favourite mangas, but right now things are getting plain stupid. Let's face it, since Azami appeared, the manga has been going downhill. The sooner he gets lost, the better.
So you can shut down random restaurants in Japan just because you don't like them? Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
-
Azami takes over the world government, resulting in the death of billions who are unable to afford haute cuisine.
Rats have now taken over as the dominant race due to their uncanny ability to keep up with the high standard of cooking.
-
To be fair this is exactly what Erina was doing in the early chapters. Azami is just taking it one step further.
Too bad the translators messed it up. It actually doesn't anything about 'I'm doing this way because I can and you have to abide to my rules'.
Besides, the doings of an evil character doesn't have to make sense always.
-
See, if he'd already did it and had the world in an inescapable iron grip, where Soma's mom was killed for selling her delicious but not-quite super gourmet soup, and only approved super gourmet cheffs can do business with food.
Soma uses his father's influence to get into the academy, and faces the bunch of students to be the best and reopen his family restaurant.
You can only get raw ingredients in the world, there is not famine but malnutrition abounds, as any alteration to an ingredient is "cooking" in central eyes, so while in theory you could buy the whole chicken. You'd have to prep it all, from killing to defeather and gut, to filette it and so forth.
Shokugeki started too rooted into a "wacky reality" to see this plan working. But a series starting with this premise might be crazy enough to work.
Its like sket dance policy of gender separation and no school clubs, it might work in a school by a pilot project, but it will only work nationwide if it manages to produce extraordinary results. And neither that plan nor azamis has chance.
-

Shokugeki no remy?
-
I'm just going to say this again outside of spoiler tags. In October, my joke was:
I swear, the author was one step away, with Azami, from writing a villain who was trying to make ALL COOKING ILLEGAL.
I don't even have much more to add, except this is probably just a front so that he can destroy unqualified restaurants and finally get the revenge he seeks against building-kind.
-
they have still not realized they have no judge for the shokugeki? how exactly they are gonna decide the winner?
of course there are erina and co. hidden, but they don't know about them, and even then, you need at least 3 judges -

"Kill competency". Companies, specially corrupt corporates, tend to do this whenever a new brand steals their customers.
Azami is out of his mind, so his actions doesn't have to necessarily make sense anyway.
-
Omg. Tsukasa has Komatsu'so food luck. Lol
-
And here I thought this series was not surreal. Also, Tsukasa's necktie is dumb. Who the hell wears a stripped necktie?
-

It's part of the Totsuki Uniform
-
So Tsukasa is an amazing and humble chef who is good at everything and gets his power from listening to the voices of the ingredients, huh?
The first seat is Komatsu.
-
Was I the only one who thought he was going to behead the deer next page? :ninja:
-
Tsukasa really reminds me of a Fire Emblem Lord.
-
To be fair this is exactly what Erina was doing in the early chapters. Azami is just taking it one step further.
I was thinking, with the delusional escalation, the author had run out of ideas for the evilness of Azami, but it's simply as you say. This page and the following shows the basic premise of the story. And Erina and Azami are 2 different sides of the same attitude, one soft and the other wild and mad, both rivals of the hero. Despite the exaggeracion of the villiany, I like the fact that the hero, the daughter in distress and the potencial father in law are the corners of that triangle.
