Maybe someone on his crew has a "lets get the fuck out of here" fruit. Their real target is Shanks so I doubt they'd go all out with Kaidou. Unrelated but interesting.

That being said. There's another very obvious option if Kaidou really wants to know the secrets of Raftel…....Rayleigh. But its understandable, he doesn't wanna get REKT.

Kaidou would beat Rayleigh. Oda said so in 795.

Luffy already got dibs on Jack.
This fight is important. Not only will he be able to repay the mink's kindness by fighting on their injured behalf, we'll also get a good gauge of Luffy's level, compared to the Emperor's top dogs.
Jack's defeat will weaken Kaido's forces even more.

I get a feeling that the SH's and HP's will handle this fight. They'll probably let the injured minks sit this one out.

Jack won't fight Luffy is the new Jack won't come back to Zou. The writing is on the wall. There has been too much set up with Luffy being emotionally invested in the trouble behind the Mink's and Jack. Generally when the Straw Hats make certain declarations it's almost a promise to the readers and Oda usually follows through with such things 9.9 times out of 10.

Even if you forget all that set up, is Pekoms just going sail away after nearly loosing it when he saw what happened to his home and family? Yeah, no.

The entire crew will take part one way or another and if we get an Oars style team up I'd love it. What ever happens I'm certain Luffy is staying an extra day or so to help take care of Jack.

Sanji's situation isn't even life threatening. Unless Pudding is some mantis woman. There is an immediate threat, right here, right now. Sanji can wait.

Perhaps luffy and pekoms will set out to whole cake island before jack starts to fight and later are contacted by someone on zou and they return there with haste. Possible right? Would give us a bit of a VS OARS fights and still have luffy give the final blow

I will be honestly surprised if Pekoms's presence has any effect on Jack's plan other than one more notch on his kill tally.

Pekoms is in recovery, and has said that he isn't taking Luffy anywhere. Beating Jack will be the key to convincing him.

I would really like to see the opposite. Jack can learn how truly strong a 1000 year old moving island has to be to survive in this world. So far we've only seen it moving a stately amble. Have you seen how fast elephants are when they are pissed? His whole fleet could be sea wrack in seconds. Has Jack's gas attack been determined to be an inhalant? Tough to get Zunisha to inhale it when its trunk is up in the clouds.

But aside from that, an attack of such magnitude that it could kill the elephant, shouldn't every strong fighter in there sense it coming, and this being a manga, one of them be able to do something about it ? this could make Jack realise that there are people on the island who could challenge him, something he'll maybe want to avoid in his state (hoping that Fuji taught him some humility)

Anyway, i'm having a hard time imagining how a confrontation would be set up.

What just occurred to me: how did Jack find Zou again? Lacking a Vivre Card, the running theory is you need a Mink to find the place. As far as we know Jack has neither so how has he reached Zou not once but twice?

i totally agree and it would suck ass that momo joined the crew. but i see it happening.. after that panel where he asks luffy in tears to help him, almost exactly like nami did some 600 episodes back

didn't expect Jack's return this soon, I really dont want him to get his ass kicked now, I didn't like the dofla members being taken care of in two arcs, and still, Jack need some more development, Vergo had a pretty good one. Whatever, it's been a very great arc till now, don't know what to expect from future chapters, I do hope though that the rescue sanji mission involves more people.

That would make Zunisha a Regal Mammoth from Toriko that grew too big for that story and migrated to One Piece. We've seen through crossovers that these two worlds sometimes intersect. The Ninja-Pirate-Mink alliance must prevent Jack from getting the Jewel Meat.

About Jack's return, I'm not sure what will happen next but I don't think he will be defeated now. That doesn't feel right to have him lose a fight right now. IMO, he should be defeated alongside the other calamities in the climax of the fight against the Animal Kingdom Pirates.

So, my guess is that they will find a way to save Zunisha so that it can "run away" while making sure that Jack lose what/who they used to track it.

And about that "who will beat Jack in the end" debate, I'm hoping it's not Luffy even if it's the most likely possibility.
I'd rather have Luffy defeating "only" Kaidou and leaving the 3 calamities to Zoro, Sanji and Law.

Really intrigued to see where the strawhats went.

True, it reminds me of the myths of giant animals (like a thousand year old tortoise, ect) where villains target it for some reason but turns out a creature that old is more a force of nature than an animal to be hunted. I can't recall which myth it is (Asian or Indonesian maybe) had an ancient turtle that was so huge its back was an island, people tried to hunt it but it caused earthquakes and sank ships.

Though not as big as an island (though still giant to a human) Namazu from Japanese myths is a giant catfish that could cause earthquakes.

I can see the ancient elephant using its trunk to send jets of water strong enough to capsize ships or since its legs reach so far(it looks like ocean waters only to its knees), able to rear up some and 'stomp down' down and create a tidal wave. Although it won't take out Jack himself due to plot (big bad of the arc isn't taken out by forces of nature but by battle with protagonists), it may take out much of Jack's fleet.

I think Zoro is better suited for the Shogun. So if Jack goes down now, that leaves the possibility for Zoro to face the Shogun later.He is allied with Kaido.

So it could be Luffy vs Kaido, Law and Sanji versus the remaining calamities, and Zoro facing the Shogun.

Right now the odds are severely stacked against Jack. Luffy, Zoro, Law, Pekoms, Nekomushi and Inurashi should be able to completely fucking destroy him. Especially in his weakened state

I hope Luffy fucks off with Pekoms and someone else is thrown in to the mix on Zou. I'm not bothered whether that's another calamity like Drake or Weeble, but someone needs to even the odds in Jack's favour

Ino Jack is an absolute monster but… I wouldn't be mad with everyone working together and SMASHING Jack and his crew in a few chapters to set an example. The crew does not kill, but they need to make a statement, you mess with my friends a serious ass kicking is at hand.

Law, Luffy, Zoro, the leaders of the minds, plus the remaining crew and minks should be more than enough to handle Jack with with minimal damage. Plus Jack plans to kill Zuniesha. I want to see the crew do a Oars x10 combo against Jack, in front of kaidou's subordinates. Them running in fear to Kaidou and shogun with news of the straw hats actions and Jacks serious Beatdown.

I can't help thinking that the Dressrosa arc could have been shortened if they had just fed Luffy a few tables full of meat while he was recovering his Haki. He should have a Passador at his elbow proffering chops, ribs, and inexplicable meat rolls like a server at a Brazilian churrascaria.

Hm… I'm a bit conflicted on what I feel should happen next. I feel like Luffy should leave the island before Jack arrives, he tries to kill the elephant, then there is all this chaos, afterwhich the minks and the remaining Strawhats find out the elephant is attacked and then one of them ( or all off them for that matter ) fights Jack and beats him. Then we see Luffy and Pekoms again on the way to wholecake. Then the remaining chapters at least 'til autumn should be about Sanji and the wedding.

Jack is not as thoughtless as many perceive. you don't have to be stronger to win a fight, then again what does stronger even mean?

Doflamingo had enormous value to his crew, no better chance of retrieval than while being escorted, compared to lingering and then there are three admirals, Akainu and who else would be come an obstacle where bandages would be the least of jacks problems.

Jack destroying zunisha and its people is great from a military perspective, so i can only admire this character, what a cowardly but intelligent general in kaido's army. no survivors equals no insect seeking retaliation its a brilliant idealogy for a warrior to have, though cowardly its seems from where i stand somewhat efficient.

At this point it no longer matters who beats Jack, still i disagree with those comparing Jack with Vergo, on the basis that neigher of those two were right hand men, well there was that one translation with jack but atleast not vergo, trebol was what was deemed as right hand man, Jack itself is no Queen, king or ace when it comes to cards so, Mabe Zoro admirers can chew on that.

Just thought of something. A crazy motherfucker commanding a fleet, comes to destroy the life of peaceful-yet-battle-oriented civilians, and has a gas weapon as his trump card? This is totally Luffy vs. Krieg. And this is all happening while Sanji is troubled by his past (Zeff then, Vinsmokes now).

I wonder what the timeline is for Oden's death, Neko return to zou and his quarrel with the dog.

How do you kill such a big elephant? Does it sink totally? Does it fall to the side? Does the island become stinky? How long before the skin is gone?

I’ve seen some people said that the mink trump card is related to the full moon, but can we really call something that would activate only once a month be a trump card ?

Also i guess the biggest mistery now is how the ne alliance will fight Jack if he stays on his boat. I have a hard time Oda will let that elephant be killed for real

Luffy ain't leaving if he sees Jack there. The only way a Luffy v. Jack fight doesn't happen is if Luffy has left Zou already off panel and somehow missed him.

this is most probably more suited for the dumb predictions thread, but i got to thinking while momo was whining (as usual) about wanting to be older. my mind stuck on bonney, who many believed to be one of big moms daughters. what if luffy somehow took her back with him (presuming that she actually IS related to big mom) and she aged up momo to a more suitable age where he could actually be able to do shit. this could tie in nicely with him having some sort of dragon DF which kaidou most likely also has, and have him being a part of whoopin kaidous ass as a fullgrown dragon himself when the time comes? and when the whole wano ordeal is over he would be of a more suitable age to become shogun.

Foreshadowing is far more used than red herrings though, as the latter is rarely abused. Oda is also not the kind of guy that uses red herring very much as he is very keen on building up events. .

The shogun and Kaido boiled Oden. He probably had a way to reach zou due to their close ties. They just had to get their hands on that.
