I went to the One Piece community on Facebook and caught someone saying that Capone is gay because he kept all man inside of him and it's kind of an uproar over there
Chapter 812: Capone "Gang" Bege
-
-
@Galaxy:
This is either a second tea party, or the first one was delayed for this purpose.
Presumably Pekoms and Tamago never made it back to Whole Cake Island with the box, since they were in the waters near Dressrosa two days after Fishman Island.
Is it possible that the Tea Party was delayed because of the incident at Fishman Island? Didn't Pekoms state back then that the candy from the factory was for the Tea Party? Since they had the delay on the candy I'm wondering if Big Mom postponed the whole Tea Party. After they left Fishman Island, Punk Hazard happened and they saw the broadcast of Ceaser and Smiley, and then the day after that they had their encounter with the Twirly Hats and then chased them to Zou.
So I'd assume that all of that put the Tea Party on hold. However if Sanji was the intended groom from the start, or if his identity being revealed through his picture is what got Big Mom's attention has yet to be seen.

Such a good chapter this week.
Loved seeing Nami being Nami, was a little annoyed when Sanji's pervert ways returned because that's a lot of what Sanji's only been, but luckily we see a lot of different sides to Sanji this chapter, including backstory on Sanji (Finally! This could lead to a joke, but it's also serious - unlike the nosebleed thing this feels like a balance of serious and joke, so I'm okay with it; the possibly boring and old option would be if the bride were "ugly", the possibly interesting, character development-inducing part would be if the bride were "beautiful"; a interesting option would be if he actually, honestly grew to like her whether she's "ugly" or "pretty", but eventually refused because friends are more important or something like that). It could be, both serious and joke-y in the fun One Piece style rather than the obnoxious nosebleed thing.
Bege's devil fruit always was cool, but he's a competent manipulator, too. Finally, the chapter also made Pekomz really likeable and I don't think he's quite down. The only thing is that, again, it's a flashback and most of this arc has been a flashback, it feels clunky structure-wise, but I can't think of anything else what could be done, but the content is really good, so I don't mind.

The suggested theory that Sanji's family is part of the mafia makes sense. Given Sanji's history of smoking, it's funny that his last name has the word "smoke" in it.
I think Sanji's family found out about him during Cesar's broadcast where we saw members of the underworld. After they saw him during the broadcast, then maybe they approached the government to cut a deal. Because when the poster was printed, it already had "alive only."
All of this suggests that we might have already seen the silhouette of his family members during the underworld broadcast. His family members could be one of those pictured in chapter 692: http://www.mangapanda.com/one-piece/692/8.
I just realized Lucci (and another guy, probably from CP0 as well) was watching the PH broadcast.
-
cool chapter!i thought it was pretty great seeing sanji act as a temporary leader.him considering the situation and then signalling to capone was pretty great imo.
so i read the discussion here,and a lot of the people seem to equate capone's crew with the nameless grunts like the fishmen island ones.
i think that's a pretty wrong assumption.firstly,capone"gang" has been established to have a different fighting style.instead of pure physical,small numbered
fighters,he has a more militarily and strategically focused fighting style.he has been presented as a mafia boss and as we know mafia bosses are not
generally people who single handedly take on enemies,rather they have their subordinates ambush and fight them.so,treating his crew as random grunts is wrong,as they are tied to him and are a part of him(literally and figuratively),and are a source of his power.contrary to what people think,themes do matter
comparing this situation to to fishmen island or something or other is meaningless.i am not saying that they are individually on par with SH's,but people seem to be forgetting they clearly outnumber them.so you could do whatever ridiculous math you want(20 capones=2 SH's.so i capones=0.1 SH's is not farfetched:ninja:)
point being,capone's crew are not the grunts from fishmen island,and are one of capone "GANG" bege's fighting strength(other being his DF).
andthat's not even taking account SH's reluctance to involve the minks after their disaster,clearly shown by sanji's comments and him choosing a secluded space to negotiate.
speaking of the dramatic ending,there are still a lot of unknown factors to really understand what's going on.by daughter,do they mean biological daughter or just gang family?does big mam have 35 daughters,or is it something about the family tree?do sanji's family approve of this marriage,or is it something that big mam forcing?we know that sanji's family is influential,but there are many different ways of being influential(not just being royalty).
and most importantly,who is pudding?how does she look?i think that's what everyone wants to know -
Monkey D Luffy
Rorona Zoro
Vinsmoke Sanji
Tony Tony Chopper
Nico Robin
Cutty FrammThe only family names missing are the ones from
Brook
Usopp (maybe it is Yasoppson Usopp)
Nami (maybe it is Belle Nami) -
Is it wrong if I want Ceasar to join SH?
I think Sanji could have handled Capone and his gang alone if there wasn't hostages. Though I'll give it to Capone to have the situation played on his hand very quickly. He's pretty darn smart, and maybe a little overconfident. We already knew how guys who relies on smarts and numbers fare in One Piece.

I hope he gets Gomu Gomu no Fu** You into the face Celestial Dragon Style - same one that was presented to Saint Charloss by Luffy..
And now when I look at him he looks bit like those Tenryuubitos- body shape and lack of neck so to say.
@Mr.:
In addition to that, he complements the ship itself. Though it's still too early to seriously consider the likelihood.
I thought of Bellamy as Nakama candidate before and nobody else since timeskip, then came his resolve and respect for Luffy at same time as him being stubborn in being who he is - somebody that would not fit in Strawhats, Bellamy is meant to find his own resolve and grow as character by himself. I think he will live as his own captain from now on and he will become "Great Pirate of New Era"..
With this weeks chapter I really have VERY STRONG feeling that Pekoms has chance to join. He is good hearted, he is extremely original, we already know his roots, he lion with turtle zoan that Luffy didnt seen yet.
He also has a lot of comedy potential with being cute while threatening at same time and he is experienced New World Pirate, kind of like Jinbei.He is quite famous and made his name - as mocked by Bege after Bge took him down - as good hearted pirate or rather not complete bastard like some pirates.
I hope that Luffy gets interested in Pekoms after hearing Brooks story and getting to know that one of Big Mom pirates is good and interesting person. Bege words sounded somehow definitive and he was confident enough to shoot Pekoms for going against Big Mom will. Meaning that it is very likely that Pekoms would have met same fate when he would tell Big Mom that it was his fault as she would get to understand very well that Pekoms let Strawhats escape - Bege would just have told her that Strawhats saved Zou, Big Mom would have added 2 + 2 as she is quite perceptive as it was shown during her talk with Luffy and she would surely come to conclusion that Pekoms let Strawhats go.Strawhats really need more strong fighters as they will be against some extremely strong enemies very soon and big piece of crew sure is capable of fighting but they are rather specialists in their own thing - Nami with weather, Chopper with being a doctor, Brook as musician(and quite good swordsman), Franky with his technology. Pure fighters being Luffy and Zoro at this moment with Sanji being cook of crew and 3rd most capable fighter at same time.
I strongly hope for Big Mom arc where both Jinbei and Pekoms join Strawhats.
Pekoms feels like perfectly fit for our crew after this weeks chapter and I do hope that this time Oda is not playing around. -
Man, his devil fruit power is more powerful than people realize.
Law would still pwn his ass along with all his men is 2 seconds:ninja: a mountain island room and they're all in pieces.
Unless their haki is stronger than Vergo's:ninja: -
@Buggy:
That and the seastone spear that they used on Ceaser was inside of him…Shouldn't it nullify his powers? Or does it have to be touching his body physically even though it is inside his stomach lol
yes I understood he can store seastone inside him. I'm just wondering what could happen to the people inside him once Capone in person is handcuffed with kairoseki
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Seastone doesn't cancel abilities, it only makes users unable to use them(Luffy underwater in the Arlong arc). So I assume the people inside him would be trapped there.
I think so too but what'd happen about the powers of the people inside him. For instance, if law is trapped inside capone, could he be able to go outside with shamble. I know it's stupid it's just curiosity :)
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
and what about races in mink tribe? since pekoms is talking about his parents being alive I assume they are the one speaking in the bottom right panel.
!
That seems to point that a leon mink can born independently from his parent's races, like he seems to descend from a wolf mink and a sheep mink. Beside that, no other lions is shown in the other panel where he is with his supposed relatives. It's just kinda curious. -
The treatment Pekoms got is a bit similar with Bellamy.
What now? Because I don't seem him as enemy from now on or final match for one of the SH. So he could in the end turn out to be the leader captain of the mink's fleet of Luffy's grand fleet? But before that he will go with SH to cake island to help them and solve his deals with Big mom?
Also, the way Capone played the SHs is like a mirror to Dressrosa when the SHs escaped from the big mom pirates, they had a fast, clean, good plan.
-
I like that for years we've speculated about all the supernovas but with Bege being somewhat of an afterthought.
Oh man, Law's a shichibukai and now he's allied with the Strawhats!
Oh man, Kidd, Hawkins, Apoo and Killer are in an alliance too!
Oh man, Drake has joined Kaido's ranks!
Oh man, Bonney is totally connected to Whitebeard/Big Mom/has been reviving the Gorosei!
Oh man, Urouge is totally gonna tie into the return of Enel!Oh man, Bege…eh...he eh...he got sucked into the sky or something didn't he?
Even when he was revealed as a subordinate of Big Mom, it was still kind of flat.
Oh, Bege randomly appeared and eh...he didn't do anything.
Then all of a sudden we get a chapter that legitimises Bege as a badass mafioso by firing on his comrade and capturing half of the SH's, while also plunging him into a major storyline involving a main character.
Never change, Oda.

I think people underestimated him because he was one of the few to run away in Sabaody, only fighting there when cornered. His devil fruit is only as useful as the company he keeps. If the "army" inside him is weak, then he's weak. Besides being an expert bluffer and merciless, I can't see him being much of an opponent in one-on-one combat. He literally shot Pekoms in the back, which was an incredibly cowardly thing to do.

Mafia is all about assassination, backstabbing, and playing dirty. If you think such methods are cowardly, then you can say the same for spies, ninjas, or other occupations and "fighting styles" that involve taking out opponents from behind. Solid Snake and Batman must be huge cowards to sneak up on their enemies from behind to take them out if what you say is true all the time.
Not everything has to be about being manly and confronting things directly.
-
I remember seeing pics of Oda's workspace in the internet, how he did his work and one of the picture showing a compilation of books and the contents in it are story arcs. One of them was Big Mom's because it shows like a cake or a muffin drawn on top of the cover while the other was a dragon.
But seeing how this thing goes, I think Big Mom's story arc will be next….
Right. But given that the samurai and Mono…something have ties to Kaidou, I had assumed his would be the next arc. And then there's Law as well. Doubt he'd join the fight against Big Mom. So, perhaps while the SH are dealing with Big Mom, Law and the rest will be making some preparations against Kaidou.
And Jimbei might join soon. I understand why it was important for him to stay out of Dressrosa, but now they really need his strength.

This chapter was great, we got 50 shades of Sanji there!
His family name is a mix of wine and cigarettes lol
-
Sanji didn't negotiate shit. If there was a wooden post with his picture where he was standing, things would have ended up the same. Sanji's negotiating skills remain to be seen in the following chapter, where he manages to keep the rest of the crew out of harms way. I hope.
That's what I meant, should have made it more clear.
-
So technically Bege is some kind of super-giant ? Everything that reaches a certain perimeter around him is reduced to almost nothing. Meaning if Luffy, for example, goes Gear 3d against him, his fist will turn "normal" size inside the perimeter !?
-

Nope. His name is Cutty Flam.Iceburg gave him the nickname Franky because his name was stupid.

@Fire Fist:

Pretty much everybody ran away on Saboady though, at one point or another.
Except for Apoo, but he's just awesome.

Besides being an expert bluffer and merciless, I can't see him being much of an opponent in one-on-one combat.
Not necessarily.
Bege could have pretty much anything inside his fortress, for example he mentioned a kairoseki spear.
That gives a big advantage in battle, when the opponent has no idea what could be coming next.
We also don't know if he could expand his AoE and shrink people down unexpectedly amongst other things.
The scope of Bege's ability would probably make him extremely difficult to fight one-on-one.
@Fire Fist:
He literally shot Pekoms in the back, which was an incredibly cowardly thing to do.
A cowardly act doesn't necessarily make him weak though.
He took the opportunity that was presented to him at that very moment.
Had Pekoms been alert for a time while Bege waited for him to drop his guard and shoot him, then that would have been more indicative of a lack of strength.

I imagine haki would probably protect against the effect, similar to how people would resist Law's powers inside his room.
-
Happy New Year Everybody!

it seems this one it's going to be a tea party for the ages. with a lot of wedding crasher too

Capone and Pekoms just said they received new orders from Big mom, and that was to bring Sanji back so this implies that Big mom got interested in Sanji after the new "only alive" bounty came out.

what a great chapter before I leave… Hope the Strawhats will already be in whole cake island by the time I get back in 3 months time.

Nope. His name is Cutty Flam.Iceburg gave him the nickname Franky because his name was stupid.
http://mangafox.me/manga/one_piece/v37/c352/14.htmlI think it's a misunderstanding from the translator, Iceburg were mocking the name cutty flam cause Franky wanted to be called that way.

It was always my understanding that, whatever Franky's preference, Cutty Flam was his real name and "Franky came about as play off of Flam-kun (furamu > furankii).
The way it's presented on wikia could just be because he's far more known as Franky now and, officially, Cutty Flam died trying to stop the Sea Train.
I distinctly remember a flashback where, like mentioned above, iceberg comments on the name Flam.

Seems nice and sad at same time that you will have 3 months worth of One Piece chapters to catch up.

@.access:
Still, the fact that the spear can be stored inside his body mean the seastone is affected by his DF. I suppose there is no way around this.
Hancock petrified and broke smoker's seastone Jitte. Luffy retained his rubber abilities underwater, Aokiji freezing the sea..etc

Wow what a chapter. So Sanji is getting married?
It will be interesting if Purin turned out to be BM herself. Poor Sanji he's sure to commit harakiri if that were the case.
He's also in for a rude awakening, because BM looks nothing like what he imagined her to be haha.And Capone is such a badass. I feel sorry for Pekoms but I love characters that are cold-blooded and cruel.
-
All of this suggests that we might have already seen the silhouette of his family members during the underworld broadcast. His family members could be one of those pictured in chapter 692: http://www.mangapanda.com/one-piece/692/8.
In that case should be the upper left one, smoking and drinking wine
-
If it turns out Pudding is the 3 eyes girl, she's just after Sanji's Dressrosa crush, Viola. She also had like a special eye with her DF to see thing others can't see.
-
Hancock petrified and broke smoker's seastone Jitte. Luffy retained his rubber abilities underwater, Aokiji freezing the sea..etc
I dont remember her using her ability for that didnt she just kick the jitte with COA
-
@Bon:
Why and how Capone know about the invitation and Pekoms don't?
Peckoms knew. He said himself: he simply didn't want to split up the SHS.
-
@Long:
I dont remember her using her ability for that didnt she just kick the jitte with COA
No, she used perfume-femur (or something that sounds similar), a df attack that petrifies anything that she kicks.
-
I love how Pekoms´ parents (at least I think its them) are a literal mama bear and a papa wolf
I did so tooo. I loved the fact that there was no hybridization resulting from that. I loved the fact that there was no reproductive isolation between them. And I love how One Piece sometimes does not adhere to the mechanics of the real world.
This is based on the assumption that they are his biological parents.
-
Or he could be adopted.
-
@S.C.:
Or he could be adopted.
Yes, but I would like the former to be what's going on. (A personal desire.)
-
@Fire Fist:
I'm honestly not surprised that Sanji is part of a noble family. Gives his alias "Prince" a lot more meaning. Plus, he always dressed in suits or semi-formally and hated bad table manners. He also refuses to fight women and despite being lecherous, he is actually very chivalrous to women in his own way, despite being raised from 10+ by a notorious pirate. Also, during the Thriller Bark arc, he claimed to have read a Devil Fruit Encyclopedia. I doubt that's something the common citizen has, as even Spandam couldn't identify Kalifa and Kaku's fruits at Enies Lobby.
Since he's only the third son, it would also make sense that he would be apprenticed out to a trade (and hence, why he was an apprentice cook on a passenger vessel), as he would be unlikely to inherit as much of the fortune as his two older brothers. I'm interested to see where this goes. I'm also interested in what happened to Sanji's two older brothers.
Not sure how to feel about Capone's new bounty. Sure, his Devil Fruit is incredibly useful as it can store an army, but he would have to do some pretty serious shit to get a bounty that high. I'm guessing he's going to be used by Big Mom to recruit DF users and have them live in his body, to be released all at once on locations.
It just got real.I like added ensign your post mentions. Very interesting way to look at it. I'm also reminded of how he knew the story of Borland as it was a common story told in North Blue to children.
Suddenly I'm picturing Sanji arguing with the wedding chef and getting all angry because his food is in as good as Sanji's and then they get in a big fight.
He goes,"well what would you know anyway you're just a random Prince? and Sanji would,"l respond excuse me I'm a chef!" and he goes, "oh yeah huh of a pirate crew know doubt so that doesn't make you anything!" and then they start fighting like Zoro and Sanji except it would be Sanji and the chef of the wedding I think that would be really funny
-

I see, well all i ever understood is that his name was Franky, he don't know anything about his father aside that he was a pirate, then he decided to call himself cutty flam because he found it cool but Iceburg always told him how lame it was, in the tom's workers he signed Cutty flam and eventually after the umi ressha accident Franky used the name cutty flam to meet up iceburg cause no one knows this name except Iceburg and Tom, this is how the CP9 realized that Franky was cutty flam btw.
I never thought people thought Cutty Flam was his real name, it's time to rewatch and read Water 7 arc then!!!edit: just to show up the official one piece website and the name is Franky not cutty flam https://one-piece.com/anime/character/characters/franky

Cutty Flam is the real one, while Franky is the nickname.
After reading, again it's a misunderstanding, Franky didn't stopped to be called cutty flam because iceburg asked it, he used this name under Tom's workers, after Tom getting jailed by the world government Franky went to stop the umi ressha then got injured but came back years later and wanted to talk to Iceburg but he used cutty flam cause Iceburg was the one knowing the nickname, it's not the other way around.
But people can believe or call Franky whatever they wanna call him in the end.edit: just to show up the official one piece website and the name is Franky not cutty flam https://one-piece.com/anime/character/characters/franky

Like sgamer82 said, that's because he's more well-known as Franky, not Cutty Flam, so official sources use that name more often.

I don't like the name Bege either. Capone is badass.
