What Toei Animation normally does is, let the cow rest and restore its milk again, by waiting 10 to 20 years, and return the series for new audiences and nostalgia for old fans.
I just wish they'd revisit Slam Dunk, or at least completely adapt it.

Yep, Slam Dunk seems a strange case. It already passed its 10th anniversary, since the manga and anime ended, and the only thing that was made was the HD Box-sets. Next year is its 20th anniversary so maybe a remake is coming. The series deserves it, and right now the series is the 4th best selling Toei animation series in terms of foreign licensing.
I hope there is no problem with Inoue Takehiko and the license.
We this is gonna be Naruto GT, then in 18 years from now Naruto Super with Boruto getting the Gohan treatment.

Why do that when we already have Kakashi.
Who the hell thought that making an anime off a Uchiha character was a good idea? Even though i think this godawful series seriously needs to die off already but if they are going to make an anime then try Rock Lee or some other side characters instead of shitty emo characters.

They done a Rock Lee anime once.
They done a Rock Lee anime once.
They are already milking the series hard so why can't they do it with an actual interesting character instead of crappy Uchiha characters?
What's there to even cover with Itachi? His life wasn't a mystery anymore.
@Mr.:
Ehh I guess I can see Toei dragging things out, I don't really see what a post story sequel could be about.
In Naruto's case you have a entirely new generation to write about, but One Piece? But what do I know? I'm probably very wrong lol.
Well it's impossible to say until we actually see how it all ends and who does what, but OP has a huuuuge diverse cast of secondary characters. We could eeasily see a series focusing on Roger's story, or Whitebeard or Garp… or follow Law's or Batomoleo's crew... or go back really far in time and see Montblanc Noland's adventures... or just get bizarro Time specials where its just the strawhat crew but cast in different roles for perpetuity like samurais or monsters or soccer players or whatnot. Nothing that could be a 16 year franchise unto itself no, but a bunch of dedicated specials/movies/miniseries, absolutely.
(I fully expect the series proper to get a Roger flashback right before we get One Piece and before the great war, but that aside.)
The manga has already had a couple goofy spinoffs, they could easily run with those, similar to the Rock Lee series.
Just caught up on the latest animer filler arc… Jesus Christ, so Sasuke's a douchey fgt regardless of whether his clan lived or died, huh? Wow, I actually dislike this one more than that canonical emo prick Kishi made. And when did Sasuke's dad become such a pussy? He was alright with leading a coup and killing a lot of people, but he can't even discipline his own stupid kid?
here is some Naruto art by Ikemoto…

Because those allegedly interesting characters don't already have official novels written about them.
So reverse harem jutsu is a go
Seems like a shame that Salad gets a mini-series of her own only to be the useless one in the new team whatever
Well, she is an Uchiha, so maybe that will balance her from being a woman.
Burrito movie is out. Subs any good?
You know, guys, I have seen on Ishuhui a new Naruto chapter in which Himawari awakened her Byakugan, but I haven't seen its English translation anywhere? Are you guys aware of this? Any thoughts on this matter?

Ah, I see. Thank you very much for the link:happy:
Answering to Space Cowboy in another thread reminded me… Weren't there some kind of space cowboys who are the driving force for Kaguya to create her naked Zetsu army? Which Sasuke was researching about?
So I guess they will be the overarching bid bad for Boruto's generation.

I haven't watched more than about 10 episodes of shippuuden but even I have heard that there has been less than 10 canon episodes in this entire year…
I remember when Naruto part 1 had years of filler at end of it and Naruto 'filler hell' was all the rage back then... but this is pretty outrageous they are so close of finishing entire thing but they want to milk fuck out of it... I don't even know how anime only viewers can stay unspoiled when there is all this 'Boruto' stuff being promoted.

I don't know how people are still watching the anime, actually. You would think any interest would have disappeared after all of that.
It is announced that the special chapter for Naruto going to release on Issue 21/22 and Boruto going to start serializing on Issue 23 of Shounen Jump.

It never ends, does it?
Nope, this thread is essentially Edo Tensei'd at this point.
To be serious for a moment, perhaps this could be a fresh start?
A return to the beginning that made people, myself included, to actually read and follow the story of the Orange Ninja?
What would make you read this new series?
What would make you read this new series?
For Kishimoto to not be involved and for it to be the Rock Lee spinoff.
For Kishimoto to not be involved and for it to be the Rock Lee spinoff.
Well,Kishi is not writing the story…
@Galaxy:
He's still supervising it.
That's expected,he can watch over overall design and characters..after all it directly follows his story.
But new author means new way of telling it,at least that's what i expect.
So the final volume came out in Germany, and I bought it purely out of nostalgia. It contained an interview with Kishimoto. Here's the key points:
- The story of Naruto was planned beforehand, from start to finish. What Kishimoto did for every weekly chapter was follow this guideline, working out the details as he went along.
I can believe this especially the second part given how shakily some of those details were worked out.
- His next series will be sci-fi. He's currently developing the concept.
Damn, Uchihas in the space.
For some reason space is the exception, you don't say it like "I'm at the beach" or "I'm at the mountain" or "I'm in the whale forest secret tree" but "I'm in space" or "Uchihas in SPACE!"
Sci-fi?
Does rabbits in space ships vs ninjas qualify?
He thinks ninja comes from space…
Preview for the upcoming chapters. Meh.

Is it me or Orochimaru has boobs in that panel?
- Manga artists need have passion for their work, and shouldn't even take a vacation while working on a series. Kishimoto didn't even like to call in sick if it meant missing a deadline. It's stressful, but the best stress-killer is a successful series.
Maybe Kishi should've taken more holidays so his second half of the series didn't suck so much?
- The story of Naruto was planned beforehand, from start to finish. What Kishimoto did for every weekly chapter was follow this guideline, working out the details as he went along.
- There was one point where Kishimoto wrote himself into a corner and didn't know how the story would continue: When he introduced Pain.
Two things. 1st, as Green_vs_Red says, it's hard to believe the whole thing was planned from the start and Kishi was following guidelines all along. Like, if all the time he had the Moon Rabbits in mind. . .why did Moon Rabbit Goddess appear barely 10-15 chapters before the end of the manga? Forcing a shameful re-writing of the origins of Black Zetsu? Introducing an apparently ongoing cosmic struggle (Moon Rabbit needed an army. . .to fight who, exaclty?) in an ubber rushed manner with no explanations whatsoever?
And 2nd, doesn't the second statement about Kishi writing himself into a corner contradict the statement that "everything was planned from day 1 and Kishi followed his guidelines till the end"?
- Rock Lee, Naruto, Jiraya, and Shikamaru are and always have been his favorite characters.
This is pretty cute too, considering how much he disregarded Rock Lee after his leg injury both as a character and as a fighter, not giving him a single high point for about 3/4's of the series aside from the Drunken Boxing scene (which ended with him still being completely out of league against Kimmimaro and Gaara being the one to really fight against him when the fight got serious). True, near 80% of the cast got the same shameful treatment as Rock, but they weren't "his favorites now, before and always forever and ever!!!".
Maito Gai got much more spotlight than him, fighting against Kisame twice, partnering with Kakashi against the tailed beasts AND Madara, opening the 8 gates (while Lee, during the END OF THE GAME, admitted he could only open up to the 6th. . .), sacrificing himself, having a flashback about his dad. . .man, for a manga about "passing the torch to the new generation", it was totally about making the OLD generation look good while the new generation. . .kind of stood there. And let Neji die. While having walking Jesus's that could basically revive everyone. . .
. . .Argh, need to stop. Once I start recalling everything wrong with Naruto I'm flooded by its stupidity.
Preview for the upcoming chapters. Meh.

What KageKageking said could be true
Or Mitsuki could have been a Test tube Baby
–
Also Sarada looks Cuter then before (probably be more cuter if officially drawn by Kishimoto)
Could be? Those are definitely female boobs.
And I'm sure it was crucial to the plot.
The whole Kaguya battle was just a preview for his next series, it seems;
Oh yeah I forgot Boruto teamate is Orochimaru son.
Well.. Here is how I feel about the Next Gen Trio from the picture
Mitsuki - Shaggy angry man who may be as mysterious as his Dad-Mom
Boruto - Derpy knock-off clone who may only become as strong as Toad Sage Naruto due to no Kyuubi or Byakugan Powers
Sarada - Cute stylish Girl who will probably be bigger then her mom in the chest department when she gets older with powers only reaching the 3 Tomoe Sharingan unless plot requires Chocho to Die(please happen!) then we get MS Power Female Uchiha.
I still can't get over how the whiskers were genetically passed down from father to son
