Zoro's a strong guy, sure.
However, to compare against a few ~ 300M pirates;
Is he as much of a threat as someone like Kidd, a pirate captain who specializes in killing people who laugh at him? Who's actively searching for One Piece? No.
Hmm, he obviously isn't which is why Kidd's bounty is 470M…
Is he as much of a threat as someone like Cavendish, a pirate captain who's murderous alter ego kills people indiscriminately? No.
We actually don't know how many people Habuka has killed, how much do the Marines know about Hakuba, if they know at all that they are the same person (because they sent Marines to investigate and nobody returned because Cavendish/Hakuba killed them all) and how much is Cavendish in control. Going by what happened with Robin, he seems to be at least partially in control and that would massively lower the victim count. Taking that into account, as well as his statement that the Worst Generation completely overshadowed his feats (and the Worst Generation includes Zoro) which made him very angry, I'd say that Zoro is clearly seen as a bigger threat to the WG, especially because he is under Luffy's "command".
Is he as much of a threat as someone like Pekoms, who serves under a Yonko and effortlessly defeated a super rookie with one punch? No.
Hmm, definitively yes. Pekoms, from what we have seen isn't a commander in BM crew, as he was really scared of her. And besides, Zoro should be at least around that level at this point (depending what you define as a commander lvl, Marco, Vista or Blenheim). And he would've defeated that super rookie with one slash too, just like Luffy did.
Zoro has now surpassed pre-timeskip Kidd, pre-Dressrosa Cavendish and Pekoms in bounty value.
Do I think that's a fair reflection on a his threat level, a member of a fairly strong crew who's fairly strong himself? No.
I strongly disagree for the reasons stated above.
Killer's also part of The Worst Generation, yet after 2 years in The New World, apparently shaking up a storm, his bounty is only 200M.
Zoro's always taken on the next strongest guy after Luffy and up until now it's merited him 60M bounty increases.
Suddenly a similar action gains him a 200M bounty increase.
Oda has quite simply bent the rules to stop Zoro being a victim of Usopp's joke bounty, and to keep him in touching distance of Luffy, with a view to having a larger bounty than Jinbei when he joins.
The guy absolutely adores Zoro, so it's not that surprising.
Yes, Oda obviously loves Zoro and he depicted him as a complete badass since the TS and that is exactly the reason why I don't find such an increase of his bounty weird at all. It's like Oda has been preparing the readers for that. Zoro got a massive power up after the TS (and we haven't seen half of it, judging by the way he handled Pica) and the bounty reflects that (because even though bounties aren't about strength levels, strength has a lot of influence when the threat to the WG is considered).
I think they are Worst Generation mostly because there have never before been so many pirates with bounties over 100 mil on their way to NW. Although, I believe BB and Luffy's actions helped out. What with wrecking MF and ID, hurting Tenryuubito, escaping justice…
Brownbeard explained why they are called the Worst Generation. He said that they are a generation of outrageous problem children, who were born in the void between the end of one age and the start of another. And after WB died, they all entered the NW at the same time, leaving chaos and turmoil in their wake and whenever a major incident occurred, they were at the centre.
Maybe it has nothing to do with the whole Sanji being a noble blablabla but a few years ago, Oda stated that Sanji's eyebrows were one of the 7 mysteries of One Piece. What if the reason is him being part of an important family (maybe a noble, or something else). Just food for thought
I don't think that that would be a proper reason, I mean, he's a pirate, in Luffy's crew. I don't think that a random noble would just go to Marijoie and tell the WG that he wants this guy alive.
It's probably something more important than that.
–
(can't find the post saying that "Sanji may not be his real name")
Yeah, that could be true.
Im sorry if this is wrong, but wasn't Captain Jack the guy who's treasure Buggy was after?
I thought that was Lord Buggy's cape.
I'm still not sure whether it's hair to the new Shichibukai or if it's just Buggy being FABULPUS and wearing a hair thing that kind reminds me of Doflamingo. Hmmm… @King:
Actually, the implication here is that someone important recognized him as they finally would have a decent photo of him. Before it was a sketch, and in Punk Hazard, they only had a pic of the back of his head.
It can't be just a coincidence that the moment he gets an actual picture, his status suddenly changes to Only Alive.
I disagree. I think it's an implication that he did something these 3 days that Warrents someone wanting to interrogate him. Hence capture him alive.
Damn, this was an awesome chapter!! Luffy and Law tied for the highest bounty out of the Supernovas! Though I had hoped that Luffy would surpass Ace's bounty after taking down Doflamingo, but this is pretty good too (considering he didn't take him down alone).
!
call me crazy, but Captain Jack reminds me of Captain Morgan…. that metal jaw... and the way he talks? "who do you think you're talking to?"... totally sounds like how captain morgan talked... we never did find out what happened to him after escaping.. maybe he got stronger or something
Cool cover. Farul looks pretty Good eating that rose.
Well it seems CP0 was on the island. You know up close you really realize how stupid those masks look. At least the pigeon gives it a certain look. So Lucci is working for the government again? Despite Spandam blaming him for Ennias Lobby and him swearing vengeance?
Speaking of Spandam, is that him talking to Lucci? Pretty weird big transformation on his personality if that's the case.
Finally the drwarves are integrated into society and they stop that farce with Rebecca. The conclusion to the tragedy was pretty good at least when it came to the narration and the rikus. But seriously, they should think about their houses before statues(remind me of Neptune giving needed treasure to strawhats).
Fuji , I can't take you seriously. But i still look forward to which random place you are going to.
Doflamingo finally going back to what he does best: Giving awesome speech while laughing like a maniac. Now he just need to toy around with some big shot and he will be at the top of his game. He even got new glasses on(because when your prisoner need glasses you just have to find that particular brand he loves). He really should have kept it to sweet and short apparition. That's definitely better than having him as a villain. He kinds of remind me of Croc when he is laying down.
I wonder who is that Jack fellow and how stupid/cocky he is.
Kizaru looks awesome in that one panel.
For the revolutionaries we have Dragon, Sabo Ivankov. And who is that last person?
Barto ship is freaky with that big Luffy as figure head. The kind that makes me fear for children safety. But now they have a ride to Zou.
Bellamy got dealt in 2 panels? At least, he didn't join a crew. That's something.
The Barto club is really a club of strawhats fans. I love them pulling the red carpet to go see the bounties. And that awesome MS line for Law about his bounty.
They all have pretty good posters. Except Usopp, but he was beat up early on. Plus the epithet god makes it worth it.
So generic 50M raise for everyone? I would have prefer 50 for captain and 20-30M for crew. That means:
Cavendish -330M
Barto-200M
Gambia-110M
Bellamy-245M
So the only ones with a real bounty raise(meaning not the free 50 bump) are Luffy, Law, Sanji, Zoro and Usopp.
Law and Luffy are perfect, Usopp is epic, Sanji is intriguing and Zoro is BS.
If we are still to consider the photos as real ones, I wonder when they took them. Franky and Nami for examples.
So Sanji only alive and with a 100M raise. Any thoughts?
I disagree. I think it's an implication that he did something these 3 days that Warrents someone wanting to interrogate him. Hence capture him alive.
What would he do to warrant interrogation that the other Straw Hats couldn't in those 3 days? It's not like they've been facing the government during those days (only Big Mom and Kaido pirates).
There's also the fact that just now that they have obtained a picture of him, his status changes to "Only Alive".
This feels a lot like Bonney's situation. She was obviously important to the WG considering Akainu didn't try to kill her.
@.access:
Although some points are a stretch, I think this video summarizes things well. The Norland/Lvneel part may be on something:
While the "Sanji is hiding his face on purpose" bit doesn't make much sense, the rest is indeed very interesting. Especially the blood type part, as i never really gave it much thought. But thinking about it now, Oda would have no reason to be that clear and specific about his blood type, bringing it up in the main story and all. It's usually something that could be limited to a SBS as a piece of trivia.
Im sorry if this is wrong, but wasn't Captain Jack the guy who's treasure Buggy was after?
I believe it was actually Captain John
Im sorry if this is wrong, but wasn't Captain Jack the guy who's treasure Buggy was after?
That was captain John, and he appeared as zombie in Thriller Bark.
Noland's statue is alongside God Usopps. Awesome.
Btw, Zoro surpassing previus Luffy's bounty seems to be a solid patron now, which means his next bountie will be higher than 400millions, theorically surpassing Jinbe's(???) And allowing him to join without eclipsing Zoro-Senpai.
Congrats to those who guessed that mad Jack would actually appear.
Roche Tomson next ?
I'm still not sure whether it's hair to the new Shichibukai or if it's just Buggy being FABULPUS and wearing a hair thing that kind reminds me of Doflamingo. Hmmm…
It's most likely Buggy's pimp coat. All the other faces are shaded just a little. If Oda wanted to show 7th likeness, he would most likely have drawn an outlined shadow of his head, like he usually does, instead of just throwing some messy hairdo on the panel.
Although, I've been wrong before, so what do I know. It's hard not to notice that it would be an awful lot of space used just for Buggy's coat. So maybe it really is a head shown from behind.
Im sorry if this is wrong, but wasn't Captain Jack the guy who's treasure Buggy was after?
No. That was John.

I can see jinbe helping them fight a yonko and will official join afterwards .
Which will allow Zoro bounty to go up some more.
The person who makes/prints the poster is either a pretty woman/ugly woman/okama that loves Sanji so much and want him alive? Lol I can't think of anything.
1st every poster to have only alive in the wanted poster, Sanji is changing the game!
Even Kuma is shown among the pirate, why? I mean he has no mind, is a machine that listens to the WG. Why would he try take control and be #1 unless it's foreshadowing about Kuma regaining his mind somehow with Law's mind switch or heart switch. That be pretty cool, good way to pay him back for helping SHs.
So it seems Oda heard the Sanji fans and will make him the center of a plotline :-)
I wonder if we will know about it in the next arc or if it is also something for later, like CP0 and Jack seems to be.
Can someone please explain to me what the thing that looks like a strap that covers part of Laws face and is connected to the spiky hair/coat is. I can't make much sense out of what that is supposed to be.

He's still a Shichibukai.
Only 5 shichibukais left, since Luffy entered the Grand Line that just can't stay on 7.

A girl wearing a Kuma T-Shirt? Really!???
Im sorry if this is wrong, but wasn't Captain Jack the guy who's treasure Buggy was after?
I believe that was another Jack, that died long ago. I may be wrong (too lazy to check) but wasn't he one of the revived zombie generals back on Thriller Bark?

I'm pretty sure it's a pun, a child wearing a shirt with a bear on it.

I was just looking at that while trying to decide if it's Buggy's coat or a head and I have no idea. Horn? (Tengu)Nose? Weapon? Antenna? Elf-like ear? Pretty much exhausted my imagination…
EDIT: A mask/glasses that doubles as a weapon. Like Ithnan in Magi. Yeah, now I'm done.

A girl wearing a Kuma T-Shirt? Really!???
It's a boy. He appeared in chapter 785 with the same shirt. Fujitora helped him and his mom reunite.
If you are not thinking this noble stuff… I would love to read about your theories about the meaning of this (please serious ones)
mmm… one that I can think of is
One of the Upper High out there tasted Sanji's Cook and want Sanji cook again for him/her.
If it is the skill, once a man die, it will vanish with him.
The way to have it, is when you got him 'Only Alive'.
Though I really hope the CD Theory is proven. By mentioning Sanji from North Blue not only once, but twice (in Strong World Movie), it might be a hint that it is not only a trivial matters. And when Donquixote Family exiled from Mariejois, they have to live in North Blue. North Blue might be the closest to Mariejois.
Anw.. Let's prepare for the worst and not setting our expectation too high.. Oda did it once to him.
Although I doubt it this time. It could be a gate to Gorosei, Tenryuubito, World Noble, etc.
Luffy usually need to has the 'reason'. The simple reason just to help his friend (Nami, Vivi, RObin, Law) before it ends up for getting a bigger impact.
Who knows that this time the reason will be one of his crew again? :)
Very interesting. I wonder how strong Lucci has become. He used to be stronger then Luffy(who I believe one not because of power so much as because of his will to save his friends). Rokushiki techniques seem almost like a type pf prelude to haki so I doubt he would have had much trouble mastering it. I can't help but wonder if he has managed to awaken his DF fruit
I always saw them as being on the exact same level - with Luffy's resolve being the resposible for him to come out victorious -, and that was one of the reasons I wanted to see them meeting the SH again, this time not as enemies, and how this would play out.
But now I can't see Lucci being on the same level as Luffy. Luffy already finished the Shichibukai (ok, there is also the mysterious 7th, but I doubt we'll have another arc again against a Shichibukai) and will move to higher places. I can't see Lucci being on that level. He will probably be as strong as the non-Luffy-supernovae.
Im sorry if this is wrong, but wasn't Captain Jack the guy who's treasure Buggy was after?
John.
Chopper for the next biggest bounty change? Or will he be stuck at 100 berries till the end? Kinda sad n so funny. He's actually trying to be a monster but the WG hasn't acknowledged it yet.
I was just looking at that while trying to decide if it's Buggy's coat or a head and I have no idea. Horn? (Tengu)Nose? Weapon? Antenna? Elf-like ear? Pretty much exhausted my imagination…
Without that strap I would be nearly convinced that the fur is part of Buggy's coat. But with it I think it is the 7ths Shichi right behind the bubble.

Yeah I really don't know either, what you're pointing out there is very interesting.
There's something about the relation between Kuma and Vegapunk that we don't know yet.
it's just bagy's coat,come on guys
Anyone else wondering if this chapter foreshadowed someone among Luffy's new followers betraying him in the future?
hi. new poster here. anyway, it was great how oda made sanjis' character someone so important early on. now i understand why all of his wanted posters were always obscured images. that way, he wouldn't be recognized by the people who know him. my bets are really on a royal ancestry. this story took a long time to develop, and as a sanji fan i'm glad this has more than made up for his absence.
Anyone else wondering if this chapter foreshadowed someone among Luffy's new followers betraying him in the future?
I see that happening more in kidd group than luffy .
We already get the foreshadowing that they going to do something big so i don't see it being them .
Another thing. Most of the new bounty posters are similiar to the old ones! Luffy is doing the hand thing again. Robin too. And Usopp had the same pose as he did as Sogeking! And that's just listing some of them. Srsly. Very similiar images.
it's just bagy's coat,come on guys
Couple of minutes ago, I'd be with you, but now I'm in the head camp. It's a head with some decoration/body part/weapon/other coming from the side. In the panel below, Greenbull's head is also shown from behind, just hair.
Anyone else wondering if this chapter foreshadowed someone among Luffy's new followers betraying him in the future?
Not his followers but I got the feeling that Law will do a dick move against Luffy once the first Yonko goes down.
How the hell would a yonkou influence aa wg bounty?
Maybe she made a deal with the marines.
"Bring me Sanji alive, and I'll give you [x]". Maybe some territory, valuable information, money etc. It could even be a treaty to cooperate with the marines for something. And considering there's been people like Spandam and Vergo holding high-ranking positions, I doubt there'd be someone who wouldn't fall for blackmail.
It could also be that the Marines picked up on Big Mom wanting Sanji, and plan to use him to blackmail her.
Not his followers but I got the feeling that Law will do a dick move against Luffy once the first Yonko goes down.
Nah i don't see law doing that.
Maybe before this arc but we had him willing to die with luffy if he lost vs don .
I can see law leaving them on friendly terms and being good rivals.

Exactly.
If the "only alive" was for something really outstanding that Sanji did in those 3 days, something so secret and important that for the first time ever we are seeing a "Only Alive" bounty, you would expect it to give him a raise of more than 100M. Especially when Zoro got a 200M one for simply being one of the many fighters taking down Doflamingo officers.
Not his followers but I got the feeling that Law will do a dick move against Luffy once the first Yonko goes down.
Really, Law ? I mean, his speech about Luffy when he was fighting about Doflamingo (when he says that he would die if Luffy failed) doesn't give me the impression that he may betray him (or do a dick move) in the futur.
I think that right now, Lucci is as strong as Luffy. They were on the same level at Enies Lobby, so why should it change ? Both of them probably trained really, really hard.

The thing is that aside from that mysterious line that passes in front of Law's head, Oda wouldn't gave to Buggy's coat the same amount of space he gave to the other warlords and rookies. It's probably the hair on the back of the new warlord. He also decided to show us the back of the new admiral in a simillar way in the exact same chapter.

'
What change is luffy spend time training with the right hand of the pirate king .
No way is lucci on his level.
Nah, I don't think Sanjis poster has to do with anyone blackmailing WG or bribing WG to get back at Sanji. I think it's someone who is in love with Sanji, a female or Okama(that has infiltrated the marines under the order or ivankov /dragon and they remember Sanji) or could be simple as a crush on Sanji from an ugly woman which will make it even funnier lol.
MMaybe this is foreshadowing that Sanji will get captured?

if it was a guy,he would have just obscured his face like he did with kyogyoku or the other revolutionary guy
not make a convoluted composition with only his hair popping out and nothing resembling a face or a body
