Also, I beat the new Touhou.
Oh, awesome! Congrats! By the way, what difficulty did you beat it on? o:

Hard difficulty, yeah, stage 5 is really hard.
Another thing, I decided, next "open mic" night, I will perform.
Gonna move into the community college I got into today, after church. oooo excitement
Also it turns out that my laptop does have a battery, I just never bothered to unpack it.
I'm leaving today for a four-day camping trip, so I'll be away from the Forums/Internet until Thursday. Not super excited about camping (it's more of an obligation at this point), though I'll try to make the best of it and catch up on what I missed when I return.
Ciao for now!
^On that note, I just got back from a weekend camping trip. My family and I were in the Adirondacks. We took a scenic railway ride between Saranac Lake and Lake Placid, and rode a gondola up to the summit of Little Whiteface, ~3600ft. Suffice to say the view was amazing, though It's not the best one I've had, as when I was a kid I hiked to the top of Mount Marcy, the highest point in New York state at ~5300ft. Really had a fun weekend, though I did miss being away from AP and the rest of the internet. But now I'm back and happy to see what I've missed over the past few days.
Today I did not go to the conference with Stephen Hawking about black holes at the Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre. I didn't get tickets. Instead I'm watching, super jealous, as one of my friends uploads photos from the place ;_;
Hard difficulty, yeah, stage 5 is really hard.
Another thing, I decided, next "open mic" night, I will perform.
Oh, I gotcha! o: And good luck on "open mic" night! I think you will do just fine!
As for my day today. It was good. I did errands for most of the day. Like changing my car tags, and doing groceries for some examples. Got those special Lays chips flavors as well. Had one of them before, which I got again. Though I only managed to get three of the flavors, as one of them was sold out. I think after I try them all, I do that voting thing that they have for the flavors as well.
Besides that, I babysat my neighbor's daughter. It was first time for me doing this sort of thing, and I think I did just fine. I had fun, plus this kind of stuff will be helpful for when I have my own kids to take care of in the far future as well.
300 VHS tapes to go, the good news is that we had extra help from volunteers this time, which is always a good thing. With their help, I think we can finish the VHS tapes this month. And we are not going to classify the scripts, because another museum is going to. That leaves us with the music scores. which are easy to classify.
About the movies, two of them got my attention, one is a amateur recording of a show from "Ratos de Porão" and the other was a super creepy "pornochanchada" (NSFW), I need to wash my eyes after that.
About my life, nothing surprising, I am just waiting for One Piece Kaizoku Musou 3 and the new CD from fripSide. I can't wait.
Also I am going to new places in my city, alone or with my father. One time I found a 7up soda can (which is rare to find in my country), the price ? just 10,00$..Yeah.:wassat:
After many months of searching, I think that I've finally found employment! I've been interviewed and I just have to wait for them to finish running a background check.
Well, tomorrow begins the new semister for me. My schedule….is interesting, to say the least. Off Fridays, one evening class on Tuesday, but Thursday is this chaotic day where my first class is 8:10 AM and I don't leave until after 8 PM.....fun.
As with every semister, I'm shaking with excitement and anxiety.

Never in my 4 years of undergrad did I get to take Friday off. As long as you don't have classes literally back to back for 12 hours, that's totally worth it. Especially if Tuesday is also basically a free day.
Congrats! May I inquire where/what it is?
I'll be working at an assisted living home in the kitchen. So I'll basically be a waitress that can't accept tips. Go me!
And good luck with your new semester!

Thanks, Fool!

There's small breaks throughout, but overall it'll be a tiring day. It was out of my reach, as most of my classes had limited time slots (and naturally, Physics had to be the Tues/Thurs evening and nothing else window).
But hey, the following day I don't have to rush out of the house!

Well, it's something, hehe…...here's hoping the people you'll be working with are amicable at least.
And good luck with your new semester!
Thanks~! :D

So far everyone there seems friendly! Both the staff and the residents. And it will be nice getting to wait on the same people each day and getting acquainted to them.

I miss my school/college days, I envy you.:ninja: I hope for a awesome semester.
Work: Things are easier with the help of people, 240 VHS to go and we are still in August. Those volunteers are helping us a lot, is a shame that its a rare sight.
Life: I bought the new CD from fripSide, I really liked.
Not a solid start. We ARE starting the first lab (in orgo lab) today, but the whole "come prepared, here's the info" message was sent at….after midnight?? When I was asleep? Then I had to bolt out of the house early to catch the bus, yadda yadda train....to get early to my 8:10 AM Italian class.
I mean, I did see the message before then, managed to (somewhat) get a grasp of what I have to do later, and I had downtime....but seriously. Sending it yesterday would've been appreciated.
The way my schedule works on Thursday is that I have orgo lecture immediately before, which means any lab write-ups or readings or what have you have to be done in between Italian and then.

Here's hoping :(
^Aww, it'll be fine, Meta. Maybe it's just going to be a bit of a rough start while you get used to the schedule, but it usually is after a summer away from school. You made it through last year, you can make it through this one! Will be cheering you on from the sidelines. :)
Congrats to Below for getting a (hopefully this time permanent) job and Meta! Hope it goes in well steed for both of you!
As for me, just returned from 2-day shift at the base I work at, looking forward to enjoying my long weekend (Friday to Sunday afternoon), and maybe I get to watch Inside Out tomorrow with my family?!?
Yep, this was not a good first day. Between the sore throat I've had since Tuesday, the pounding headache…...I kinda coasted through lecture, lab was.....well, not the best results but....I mean, the first lab always some leeway I guess. Now for Physics, and FINALLY it was posted what the textbook is.
I have ~4 hours left of my day.....I just want to crawl into bed now.
Tomorrow I can mercifully not go out too much and just spend the day catching up on my studies. The weekend, too.

Yowch… sounds like a huge double edged sword. You're gonna have one real bad day but have a lot more free time on the other days with Friday off... What classes do you have Thursday if I may ask? I gathered that one is Italian and one is a science lab class, is that it? Are there others? Are any of them at least easier classes as far as you're concerned?
I myself am dealing with a new job. I'm on Thursday of Week 2 of training right now. So far I'm enjoying it, I like the people I'm working with, but there's a few other stressful aspects here that are getting to me, 2 really big ones actually. One of which being the drive. depending on traffic it can be as quick as 25 minutes or as long as an hour fifteen in extreme traffic situations, so I've been late more often than I should. It's training, so I officially don't have a timeclock yet so I'm not in trouble, but it's the kind of thing I need to dial in on before we're officially on the clock starting next week.
I'm also waking up super early so I can get ready and get to work. That's kinda messing with me and making me really tired all the time. That's why I haven't been on APSmash IRC chat a lot lately..... been coming straight home and crashing hard.
Wow..people from AP are growing up..
Life: To my surprise, I received a call today, it was a part time job proposal in a comic store in the weekends, all I need is to classify them, my knowledge of comics is kinda medium. But I am happy/eager with this new possibility, maybe I won´t have a lot of time to be in this forums, but yeah..I am happy.
Wish me luck !!
What made my day was that the guy said that my resume is great.
Good Luck! Tho, your knowledge of comics being "Medium" shouldn't in-and-of itself be a problem. I suspect working in the comic shop, you'll start picking up stuff you need to know in no time.

Thanks !! I always like to learn more, and sure, I can learn new stuff there.

Ah: the order is Italian -> Organic Chemistry II (Lecture) -> Organic Lab II -> Physics. There's a few hours in between the first two, like ten minutes in between the second and third, and a half hour between the third and fourth.
Easier…..well, not really. The level of Italian is simply the next level from last semister, same with orgo. Physics....could be tricky but maybe not terribly, as I'm at the starting level (albeit with calculus, but it's just with basic calculus).
There simply wasn't very good flexibility for the courses. Physics only had one time slot, as did Orgo lecture, and I spent the whole summer waiting for the lab portion to shift, but alas.....really my head just needs to get back in the game and turn to "study" mode. I want to see how less paywork factors into my grades this time.

Hmm…..that is a doozy. I suppose being a new worker, it may be a stretch to lean on traffic as an excuse to explain future latenesses. (although, if many others commute too....?). Maybe you'll have to-

….get up earlier, but it seems you're gonna be tired to do that. Hmmm.....well, maybe you could see how the rest of the week plays out. You'll still training, so maybe you can gain the average time it takes to get there or how well your superiors can handle it.
I would suggest streamlining your morning regime to get out of the house quicker, but it seems most of the problem is traffic, and that's not something that can be controlled.
<3 People finding jobs is so awesome!
And in a bloody comic store. Gosh, I like my job but that would be like a dream come true.
We currently need more people who can fill in at the reception (as museum hosts we do different things – some of us just hang around in the reception and the store and handle security, some take care of social media, some take care of our tea house and garden, some take care of events, some help with creating exhibitions, some have guided tours etc… most of us do a combination of 2-5 things, some of us do way too much) when the regulars get sick (we call them timmisar in Swedish, which would roughly translate to… hourlies? because they're employed by the hour, there's no schedule or anything). The good ones we had (who could step in often, were good etc.) got hired to work on one of our new exhibitions as non-substitute thingies. Gosh, my English feels worse and worse. So we need new ones. And… how the fuck do we do that?
I think I’m supposed to help us do that. I’m not sure how, I don’t think I should just announce it on Facebook. We should basically recommend people we think would be good for the job, no slackers or people who wouldn’t fit in but that’s kind of hard.
And I dunno who would be good for the job (and who, at the same time, does not have one/only works part time/something similar). We need some new ones really soon as one of my colleagues just took a 4 week break to go and hang out in Japan. And not all of her days are covered. And then there are some other days that are not covered either. Which has made a few of us very nervous. Any suggestions?
And for TODAY I realized that it was the birthday of one of my closest friends (I had completely forgotten), so I rushed and bought a present before work and then I joined in at the party in the evening that I thought wasn’t supposed to be a birthday party because I thought it was yesterday and I couldn’t join in on it then. There was much confusion.
Work: 190 VHS to go, I can't wait to classify the music scores. From the look of things, the video game exposition will stay until October due to popular demands. Great. What I like in expositions are the different types of people that come to see it, from around Brazil and even from other countries.
Life: If I get this part time job in the comic store, I have to give up of my acting classes, ah the choices of life..
I also practice some new songs in my accordion (Heaven is a place on earth and Secret of my heart).
Yesterday I couldn't find a song to listen to. Everything irritated me.
Then I had a dream where I was listening to one particular song. Of course I listened to it after waking up and it's exactly what I felt like hearing right now :3
The first time my dream involved a song.
Yesterday was an interesting day.
My mom called me at around 11 pm. which was odd in itself, and she asked me to look up what embolism was. I asked why she needed to now, and she told me she's in the hospital with her man because he was really sick. After I looked up what that aforementioned thing was, I became even more anxious. Luckily, an hour or so later I got a message from my mom saying it's "just" pneumonia. So it's still serious as I understand, but not so… deadly, although I'm no doctor.
Then, one of my friends came online who was very down these last few days, and told us he was happier than ever. Turns out, he thought his love died in a car accident on her way home to Denmark. He was devastated. But yesterday, the girl wrote to him and they even talked on the phone and joked around a little bit. My friend said everything will be fine. We were so happy for him we all just wanted to give him a big group hug.
Yesterday was an interesting day~
My morning, captioned.
Urgh.
I'm happy I don't arrange events on a regular basis. So. Much. Work. Jeez.
Today is my last day in work. Tomorrow - 1st day at school, again! but for my it is the last year.
New semester, and a brand new building! Literally, it was completed some months ago. It feels awesome to be one of the first people to visit it - it has lots and lots of space, plenty of elevators and it's easy to navigate. I haven't explored the upper parts yet, but so far I like it. The only real nitpick is that you can't open windows and the toilets are very well hidden.
This semester will be… interesting. A little less than a third of the class jumped ship this summer, and counting everyone who abandoned the course from the start, I'd estimate we're about 1/2~2/3 of our original size. On the other hand we'll be working together with the Graphic Design students, so our full class size is a bit over 60 people (some had to sit on the floor).
The teachers are questionable. The first is lousy at explaining, it's like reading several articles in a row, but without the titles and headlines so you have no idea where you are and what's important. He branches out and has bad examples of how things work - we're media students suddenly listening to a lecture on quantum physics and the theory of relativity. Interestingly the only reason I even kept up with that part was thanks to Steins;Gate - who said entertainment media is a waste of time! That teacher is off to New York soon. The second teacher is danish, and as much as I try I can't understand what she's babbling about, especially since she's talking about college-level stuff. The third teacher seemed cool, but he'll be off to Syria in a few weeks. Why, we do not know.
It'll be interesting, but I feel like I really did pick the right course choice. I was worried about that the entire first year. I'm worried about the exams coming up and the pace, etc. etc. but if I can get through these two years, it'll be a huge confidence boost.
I've also started some abstract paintings in my free time. Going to try and sell them, somehow.
So … i just broke up with my GF of 5 years. I feel like shit now. We're living together and all ... the next few weeks until she moves out will be awful ...
I've been really dizzy today, on and off, just now i almost fell down when i went to the bathroom. I can't for the life of me figure out what it is due to
I am almost 70% done with figuring out my ancestral history after asking people around for the past 3-4 months. Apparently, my ancestors were like "fuck documentation" so it makes it pretty hard.
Yeah I'm in a new circle of hell. Apparently, my room has bedbugs. I say "apparently" because my brother has suspected as much for a couple of weeks, and we've mostly dismissed him. ….eventually he found "samples" and has spent a few nights poking at me with a tissue, getting them.
He's been a nervous wreck for a while, and last night I definitely saw multiple of them, all over my walls, bed.....this situation has gotten so bad that it's reduced my brother to tears and hugging me for comfort. I have to point out he is my age, and is usually too grumpy to even consider embracing me. Hot damn.
But I see the problem, and said we have to do something immediately about this. Disposing of our mattresses sounds like a plan, but our building won't let us throw out bulk and the closest dump doesn't take them…..:/
Who knew it would take infestation to bring us closer? I mean, we both slept on the floor to avoid having more crawl over us....

Oh boy I've gone through this. The only was is to call up pest control. Or you could try putting your mattresses in the sun. Works like a charm too! I've heard spraying gasoline around the mattress works but never really tried and probably won't ever

My brother and father might track down the exterminator today, but putting it in the sun….? Hmm.....might work, I hear extreme hot and cold kills them off. Air conditioner is not cold enough, but this week has some ~90 degree heat.....maaay work.
I'll bounce the idea around, thanks!

Low blood preassure(maybe you're low on bloodsugar, that could be the reason for low blood preassure?) maybe?
When I was around 13 my blood preassure was very low and for months I couldn't get out of bed or stand up from a chair without the world started spinning. I had several headaches per day (migraine doesn't like low blood preassure). I had problems with my balance and everything but a friend had it even worse, she almost fainted once =d It could be rather scary.
That's awful man. Hope you get past it. :(
Yeah, thanks Dude … i will with time, sure. But until then it surely sucks!
Now i need a new GF to play Pirate Warriors 3 with. ._.
I've been trying to figure out where to go with my story. It's that of a fugitive escaping imprisonment for a crime he didn't commit.
Watching the movie "The Fugitive" and the anime "Monster" have helped me out a lot with ideas, but more maybe helpful.

Try reading (or watching, for that matter) The Count of Monte Cristo. The tv series from 1998 with Gérard Depardieu is actually good. And a classic. If you're writing anything about escaping prison for a crime he didn't commit, this is a must even if it isn't set in modern times (and yes, it focuses on revenge but it's good).

The Count of Monte Cristo! I've heard of that. I'll check it out.
I think that TV series is french though, isn't it? I might check out the 2003 movie, also since reviews were mostly positive.

Seems to be some kind of muscle knot or something in my neck that's causing some kinda blockage.
Since i always get these dizzy spells when i'm cracking my neck or stretching it in a certain manner.
I've been really dizzy today, on and off, just now i almost fell down when i went to the bathroom. I can't for the life of me figure out what it is due to
I dropped at a concert once. Low blood pressure is definitely the answer. It's really not a big deal, just get used to being really high sometimes when you get up quick after laying around for a while.
Don't fight it either if you feel it coming on. I did that and paid the price. There was a crowd of hundreds of people staring at me. And I couldn't talk or anything after I got back up. I just looked around for my sandal trying to use words that wouldn't string together. It was pretty scary.
I got a bad news, my father was hit by a truck, luckily he managed to get out of the front, but the truck went over his foot, broke two fingers and had to make 10 points in the foot sole…...
He is ok, but it will take awhile to heal....
Edit:

Another good book you should read is Papillon by Henri Charrière, it also has a movie adaptation.
But, good suggestion Skogstroll, great book indeed.

NOT THE MOVIE FROM 2003! No! It's bad. It changes things. Bad movie. Bad.

Ouch. Is it fixable with massage, stretching or something or would you need surgery?
Ouch. Is it fixable with massage, stretching or something or would you need surgery?
Yeah massage, better working position and if need be a good backcracking.
But it's supposedly pretty harmless. It's just blood that's been held up by the knot that rushes to my head when i crack or bend my neck.
Phew. Compared to last week, lab was a lot more manageable. I think we got better results this time, only problem is I've been stuck trying to balance equations for days. Arrgh….
Labor Day weekend, please come already.
