She loved them! >=d Which is no surprise, because we're kickass pancake-masters. She only had two but apparently she normally only eats one (!!!) and taking another one is a huge thing so we're pleased. It's much more than she's eaten before, that's for sure (and it sounds rather sad when I think about it). Then we grilled this evening and she ate even more + stayed at the table until we were all finished, talked and seemed to enjoy herself. It was nice and a big improvement. We need to grill more but tomorrow and the day after we'll be roleplaying and playing board games with my friends and we'll see what happens. I've warned her, telling her that they're my age (25-35ish) and there will probably be drinking involved but they'll know she's underage and will hopefully behave themselves properly.
My chest feels weird when I have to do stuff like school work (this summer especially, for some reason).
There's times when my mind goes blank when it comes to figuring out something to do. So I just waste time clicking on NeoGAF. I could be playing a game, looking up info about something.
I would say more, but I already posted some of this at the end of the previous page.

Well, that's good that she liked them, and ate more than usual! (Pancakes and the food on the grill.) What kind of stuff did you all grilled? And does she have an eating disorder? Since she does not eat much at all. Or is it just because of her being really picky? (just curious)
And have fun hanging out with your friends and your niece! Hopefully, everything goes well too! :3
Well, nothing to start the day than finding out I woke up to see cops all over my neighborhood since it appears last night 4 guys got into a fight and one dude was stabbed to death.
…The fact they lived in the same house is.....Yeah.

Thing was, no one really had a clue. They just live under the same roof and usually got themselves in arguments at times. The stabbing was pretty jarring to hear to be honest.
So far, investigations are still underway.

I gotcha. Hopefully they find out what happened.

Yeah, hopefully something will come out and things will calm down a tad over here.
Work: Surprisingly enough, I didn't go the the library today, well, I "did" went to the museum, but that was just a meeting point so we could meet and begin our quest to find and buy a VHS player (which was easier than I thought).
Life: Father´s day will happen in this sunday, so I will have a quality time with my father this weekend, I don´t know what kind of present I will give to him, but this does not matters (I think). But I will enjoy every single second that I will have with my father, I almost lost him twice in 2013, so every second counts.
And it's good shocking that I have lots of things to do in so little time; Work, Stand Up comedy classes, accordion practice and I still have time to play LoL…That´s good, because this will keep my mind busy and not thinking about bad stuff.
Well, it seems the issue over my end has more or less ended. looks like they checked the area and came to a conclusion for the time being.

Well, that's good to hear. What conclusion did they came to?
Happy 50th birthday to my country!
And I'm celebrating it by doing my NS stint at the base where I work - patriotism at its finest!
50 years ? Wow, that's young, but at least Kosovo is younger. Also, good job with your patriotism.
Life: I still have to buy my father`s present, also, I was thinking if I should invite my mother to tomorrow's dinner, maybe not…
Well, that's good to hear. What conclusion did they came to?
Well, by all means, it was an argument gone terribly wrong at the end. The fact the suspect came back to turn himself in was…Kinda bit of a relief since that meant any further dangers is mostly averted.

Oh, wow. At least the suspect turned himself in, as it made things a lot easier. I'm guessing he felt really guilty of what he did.

Seems to be the case. By all means, it still shook the neighborhood since…Well, this isn't something to be expected in such a quiet area.

I gotcha. At least now things can go back to normal.

=) Yeah, I'm also happy about that. We grilled entrecote wrapped in bacon (we had planned on getting porkfilét but it was more expensive) and it was… pure awesomesauce. My mother, who is a doctor, does not believe she actually has an eating disorder but rather a social phobia or something that prevents her from being comfortable with eating together with people. According to my niece she doesn't eat with her family, she prefers to do it in her room. So. You just got to expose her to it, make her a part of the cooking process, make her relax and forget about the awkardness or something. And then she's picky about what she eats so double the trouble.
Anyhow.
Today was a game day. 12 of us bunched up in a small apartement and played several diffrent games all at once while eating a lot of unhealthy food and snacks and drinks and what not. For the entire day. It was awesome as per usual and my niece joined us. She loved it. She also joined my roleplaying band yesterday (the group I normally RP with), it was the first time she did pen and paper RP. She loved that too. The only downside to her mood is the fact that mother decided to start tutoring her in math and apparently that's no fun at all. But neccesary. It doesn't seem to give us any minus points, at least.
Today I bought my father´s present (a cabernet sauvignon wine from South Africa), he is 67 years old and I am super glad to see that he is still healthy and full of energy. Today we went to that food truck alley that I talked early, the place was a bit far from my house, and he was able to walk perfectly and was not tired when we arrived.
Also, the birthday of my first dog was in august 2nd, happy birthday Mulan, I will miss you forever.
I also went to my acting class, I never thought that acting or "tell a joke" was that complicated.
Edit: Father´s day version:
Today was father´s day in my country and my father made a surprise to me. We went to a graveyard to see Ayrton Senna grave and later we went to a restaurant to eat skirt steak with german mustard and noisette potatoes plus the South African wine I bought.
Great.

What's entrecote by the way? I never heard of it before. And that's good that it was yummy! :3
And I gotcha about the social phobia. That does makes sense. I wonder if it was because of the bullies?

Glad you all had fun! And you can make learning fun like math for example. I would try to make a "game" out of it. It might make it more enjoyable for her.

Yeah, most likely because of the bullies. Like, 90% sure. And then her parents are idiots too, which doesn't help (and yes, one of them is my brother but he's still an idiot).
An entrecote is a kind of steak. According to wikipedia;
In French, the word entrecôte (French pronunciation: [ɑ̃.tʁə.kot]) denotes a premium cut of beef used for steaks.
A traditional entrecôte comes from the rib area of the carcass, corresponding to the steaks known in different parts of the English-speaking world as rib, rib-eye, club,Scotch fillet, or Delmonico.
The term may also be used in France to denote the sirloin cut properly known as a contre-filet, being the portion of the sirloin on the opposite side of the bone from the filet, or tenderloin. In English, a steak cut from the contre-filet may be called a Porterhouse steak (as the term is understood in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom), a sirloin steak, a strip steak, a striploin steak, a wing steak, a club steak, a Delmonico steak, or a New York strip steak. (As well, if the contre-filet is left on the bone with the filet, the entire steak is called a Porterhouse steak (as the term is understood in the United States and Canada) or a T-bone steak.)
It's… a classic in Sweden but it's normally expensive. We got a big steak-like chunk and cut our own slices which made it cheaper per kg when compared to the pork (pork is normally cheaper).
Today... I need to bake food muffins. Because I'm going out on a picnic with some friends and those things are exellent to bring along. I've never made food muffins before. Hopefully they'll turn out ok.
Using the word carcass doesn't evoke thoughts of tasty food lol
That's… very true. >.<

I gotcha. What do you mean by her parents being idiots? Meaning they do nothing about it? Or is it something else? just curious

Ah, okay. Yeah, its the same in my area. Steak is usually expensive, and pork is cheap. But that's great that you got it when it was on sale! :3

Good luck on the muffins, and I think you will do well on them! Any specific flavor, or just the normal ones? And have fun on the picnic as well! :3

You really like to ask questions, don't you? Don't like to talk about yourself? You should.
As for my brother and her mother - no, they don't do anything. At least not anything that counts even though they're able to. Which… sucks.
And the muffins were good although there wasn't enough bacon. I should've had more bacon.

Yeah o.o… I suck at conversations xD
I have no problem with talking about myself. Let's see ummm.... Well, since we talking about food and all, I like to cook. I think I cook pretty well, but there's still stuff to learn, etc. I consider myself intermediate in cooking. And as for what type of foods, I try to cook different cultures, though mostly do Mexican/Asian/American/Polish food at the moment. Want to do some French style dishes eventually too. Also, I like to have a mix of dishes, since I don't like to have the same thing every day.
Also, I was born in the United States, but my parents came from Poland, so technically I'm Polish. And I had lot of Polish food when I was younger. So it's fun to recreate the dishes I had so long ago. Though recently just been making potato pancakes (Polish version) since they are really cheap to make. Plus, been trying to make my own version of them, like using different ingredients and all that.

You wouldn't happen to have some kind of nice family recipe for bigos would ya?
You wouldn't happen to have some kind of nice family recipe for bigos would ya?
No, sadly I don't :(
The recipes I've been getting are from online, since I'm not in touch with my family. (Long story behind that.) But I did have bigos before, and it was good. My mom seemed to mostly have sauerkraut, kiełbasa, and those black little peppercorns. Think there was other ingredients, but don't know what they are. (Remember it being kinda reddish, looked up online, seems to be tomato paste, but not sure if that was what my mom used specifically.) But yeah, I guess I be making this dish soon! It's been quite a long time since I had it too.

If you get around to it do post about it in the food thread.
I'm curious about Eastern European, seems to be alot of neat foods from there

I will indeed! :3
Just finished Sword Art Online, good show.
Took the GRE for the second time this morning. Oh sweet Jesus was I happy when it showed my two scores for the Quant section and Verbal section. Now I can relax for the rest of the day and in a few days start filling out applications for Grad School.
Work: Some bizarre movies in those VHS tapes, but we are watching all of them + making research about them so we can classify.
To my surprise there was a "Coffin Joe" movie in the pile. Sure, we are selecting the videos to put in the library, and yes, there were a lot of "home made movies", now we have to call all the donors and ask them what we will do with the tapes. The bad part is that I don't believe we are going to finish the scripts and music scores in this year, it´s a shame, but it´s a lot of work and I really like to classify. I'm not weird.:ninja:
The Video Game expo will stay until the end of september, but this can be changed if the expo is popular enough.
Life: Bad news, the maid that was present in my life since I was 3 years old is going to retire next year. I will miss her, and she took care of my mother all this years. My father said he will hire a caretaker, but I am skeptical about this idea.
Well, I don´t know if this is a good news, but there is a new CD from fripSide coming this month, and so far I liked every track.
Though I never had muffins with bacon before. I should try that one day.
Food muffins are great for picknicks. You don't need any cutelry or plates or anything, you can just eat them.
These ones also included (apart from bacon) agaricus mushrooms, rucola and goat cheese. I couldn't follow the recipe because I didn't have the exact flour theywanted me to use (so I improvised and took some other kinds of flours instead) and I really thought bacon would make things better(because it always does) and I was right.
As for my week - now I'm back at work. And despite the fact that we haven't had many visitors or anything I've done a lot because the events I and my colleague are organizing will soon take place and we don't have everything ready yet and while there's still time it's a scary part. Especially since the two of us only work part time (BUT we work in the culture sector for the state and it's not temporary gigs so we're not complaining too much about it) and we don't work side by side as often as we need to.
After work today I traveled to my mother (who has bought an apartement and moved to town, so now we can actually meet on a regular basis!) and had a lovely dinner with a fantastic desert… and for some strange reason I couldn't stop thinking about where to put the christmas tree in there because the corner of the living room I thought would fit nicely is now occupied by a chair and one of 'em chests on legs. It will work itself out. There are several months to christmas and we could most likely move that chair into one of the guest rooms even though it would get a bit crowded. Her place is much better for christmas celebrations than mine.
So, I finally played the new Touhou Game, and I can say that this image sums all the reactions I got from playing it.
Yeah, besides that, I had a quality time with my father, and went to my acting+speech therapy classes, nothing new.
Well, at least my mother is feeling better this days. And that's is always a relief to me.
Alright, read up about C Language.
I wanna know if I should learn Java (because I just wanna make simple mobile games like Flappy bird or Pong).
Never posted here before…
Got into a Internet argument against a troll who keeps calling me a white supremacist pretending to be an Asian online.
Am I doing it right?
Today was my first day off after getting back to work from my vacation (I worked over the weekend so tue-sun, 6 days). I spent the day doing laundry and playing Theme Hospital. At one point I went to the store and made a 10 min dinner (out of gorgonzola-sauce and pasta) and then I played some more Theme Hospital. That game is hard. And I can't stop. Urgh.

I defended a film called Edge of Tomorrow as he was calling it a racist hollywood trash.
I said as an Asian myself, not including any Asian characters in the film did not offend me a bit.
So he starts calling me a white supremacist only pretending to be an Asian online to defend my racist comments.
lol…
Had an unremarkable day save for walking past a foreign man who spat on my dog.
I decorated my classroom for school starting tomorrow.

Yeah, that's a bit extreme. It's called lack of racial diversity, not racism. It's still bad but it's diffrent.
Work: I think with enough work we can finish to classify all the VHS in september, the bad part is that we don´t have much workers to help us.
Life: Went to the old part of my city and I bought a SNES controller to put in my backpack. Also, I am going to a stand up comedy show this saturday so I can learn some new stuff with "pros".
Also, I saw a homeless man dressed as "Heath Ledger's Joker" screaming "why so serious" to people in the street.
I went to Playland today with my mom and sister. It's been a while since I went to amusement parks, because the faster rides made me kinda dizzy.
At least this summer closes with a fun note.
Work: Only 400 VHS left, this is going to take forever.
Life: decided to "upgrade" my backpack, tomorrow I will buy another controller.
Saw a badger this night! Badgers and Foxes have always been on the top of my "animals-I-want-to-spot" list, so it made me really happy, even if I didn't realize what it was until I got inside.
But seeing that big silhouette on a foggy night at 2:00, you understand why people believed in magic and monsters back in the day.
During my breaks getting emails prepared to send to various researchers I'm interested in studying under, as well as reading up on Berlin and Rome history for when I visit here in about a month.
Been a bit hard being on the boat this time around, as the actual employees of the boat are in a real possibility of being laid off. Hopefully everything works out for them one way or another.
I was planning to buy a new controller and went to a new restaurant with my father today, but unfortunately, both the places were closed.
At least I took my father to a old barbershop.
And in the night I went to the stand up comedy show, it was a "open mic" night, I was thinking that I should try it, but then I realized I am still a noob in the "comedy" area and I don't want to take risks now, maybe when I am feeling more confident in my skills I would take the chance.
Great day.
Also, I beat the new Touhou.
