@Hasumi_Emi:
Finally getting to see the new episodes! Haven't had any time the last couple days. Not liking Pappagu's voice. Camie seems a bit odd to me, but I should get used to her just fine. I don't know that I'll get used to Pappagu, though.
edit
I like that they kept Camie's -chin thing. I wondered how they would handle that since it's kind of the same thing as "chan", just more childish, and the dub doesn't keep honorifics.
The dub usually keeps odd speech quirks that aren't actually Japanese, like Sanji's "Nami-swan". It's their way of nodding to the fans of the original without sounding awkward with keeping honorifcs in English (with the exception of the Boss Luffy stuff which was done that way on purpose for a stylistic purpose). I personally really like what they're doing with Camie. Pappagu on the other hand… well not that I found his original voice that pleasing to listen to but something about his dub voice sounds really...off to me personally. This is just going off of what I saw on the website though, and I only chose to skim specific scenes since I don't want to spoil my set that's on its way in the mail.
I pretty much echo what everyone has said about the supernovas. My only real problem was Bonnie, but I think there's room for improvement there. Apoo needs work as well personally. Kid and Law sounded perfect to me though, especially Law. Since Law is one of my favorites and since he's so crucial to the plot beginning with Punk Hazard and Dressrosa I'm pleased to hear he'll sound great in the dub.
I can't wait to hear more Doflamingo in the dub as well. But while I partially agree with people saying the Japanese voice sounded older than how he looks, the Japanese voice is also amazing regardless, especially with that laugh, so the dub actor has some big shoes to fill. I think they can stand to make his voice a tad deeper though regardless, even if not by much. He did pretty good in his intro scenes but I'm definitely interested in hearing him in Marineford when we get there.
