@Tangaroa:
Finally Dofla starts cutting loose with his full power, and it's impressive.
Interesting that Trebol will also be part of this fight. It's always seemed that he helped make Dofla the man he is and is the power behind the throne. Or thinks he is. Very interested in what is revealed about their relationship & history.
Yeah people talk of his inaction but if this is explored a bit more and possibly an identifiable reason shown for staying where he is given, think that can all be very nicely/ cleverly tied together.
Law's faith in Luffy seems to far exceed that I thought the cynical plotter had for a man he considered a rival. It makes me wonder if something else has been at play all along here.
I thought Law took advantage of his appearance at Punk Hazard because he sees the value of opportunity, but this is far in excess of that you give a man who has so far only half followed your plans and without truly impressive results. This was how Jinbefelt but only after he heard story after story from his dear friend Ace. Who would describe Luffy as a miracle worker to Law?
Why was Law at Marineford, anyway? What was he after?
Think it's more about his desperation, giving way to little/ 'only hope' desperation and it's quite a bit easier/ better for him/ comforting when he can achieve victory vicariously thru Luffy winning rather soon, rather than some untold time later by some supposedly terrible yet unknown force like Kaidoh.
One interesting point at the start was Doflamingo giving Law a beating while asking what was the deal with having Corazon on his jacket & naming his crew the Heart Pirates but not taking the Heart seat in the family.
Did all these years Doflamingo see it as a symbol that Law did consider himself part of the family despite the bad blood over Rocinante's death? Is this the reason he never moved on him in the 13 years?
Great start to the final leg of Dressrosa.
Yeah, hope this gets explored quite a bit more. This could tie into why Oda had the timing work out so specifically at the timing of DD killing his brother; all so Law has a reason to be this interesting conflict for DD. This is why In the OPU's world of super humans I see what DD is doing( constant shootings, tearing of limbs), as more of superhuman careless torture till Law just gives up and gives DD what he wants, then with bare regrets, he'll quickly 'release Law' unto death.
@parklane21:
Great chapter!
Trebol being there is obviously just so he can be the fodder for Luffy's next form change, next chapter. Well, finally Luffy hit a wall where his advance techniques is just being shrugged away. Doflamingo is really strong.
What advance techniques?
@Dark-Abel:
We know Mansherry's powers have a limit, so what if Luffy has to choose who she heals/revives, Law or Bellamy
Something about my mind's visual imagery of this is so funny. ( either see him paralyzed with indecision, or going the Zoro route and sacrificing 1 or all way too easily.)
@Mr.:
When will Doflamingo learn that only headshots are lethal.
Though it is interesting to note that it took only one bullet to kill Scarlet. Either Doflamingo is a bad shot or Law is the luckiest man alive. Too bad for Doflamingo that Diamante isn't around to take a potshot. He's clearly the deadeye in the family.
@Baldulf:
I cant believe Doflamingo would think that Law would willingly operate him after all he has done to him.
Or:
@RobZilla:
Do we know that that's how all Devil Fruit's are reincarnated though?
We saw it happen with the axolotl fruit, but that could be specific to zoan class fruits.
There's also the issue of who would eat the fruit, master it to the point of even being able to perform the immortality operation and then give up their life to do so for Doffy.
Especially when as mentioned above and in previous posts, we don't know just how much DD, or even Law knows about what the other knows about them. Thus why I see this as torture, ( ironically enough in a style more fitting Trebol's sense of humor):
"Come on Law, why won't you make me immortal, I'm killing you 1 way or another."
Blah blahblahblah loses arm .
"Now come on you know you wanna make me immortal now, don't want me to make you completely armless before you die!"
Blah blahblahblah "….faith you're still screwed." Few bullet holes later...
"Now clearly we could literally both keep this going for a while, how about less dieing, a cup of coffee, and you make me immortal."
Then DD will probably just started shrinking the cage because Law mentioned them. Next he'll start aiming for SH's crew or Law's as reason to give what he wants,( not realizing they're pretty up reachable mostly because he should never even get an idea where they are.
All of this possibly weeks/ possibly months long torture, for DD, would still seem preferable to a possibly year(s) long process of finding and retrieving the fruit all to handpick, groom and prepare a replacement.
