Just read the first chapter. Man the main character is stupid. She got fooled so easily.
She gets much better later, don't worry.

@Thousand:

I really hope so. I reached the second part of the game and I think I'll read at least other 20 chapters, before deciding if keeping reading it or dropping it.
I would say it's the last 2 or 3 missions where she has shown actual growth and an actual ability to make a plan up and execute it without even the smarter characters knowing until she succeeds. With her, she's a noob to this type of psychological game play, so she has to gain confidence and experience the regular way through trial and error and she definitely does.
ahem
YAHOOOO NEW CHAPTER OH I'M SO EXCITED wait I don't remember what was going on in the story GAH.
Life is hard.
Who else have that feel?
Finished reading the second round. Nice, I liked it. The fact that the blond girl was Mr. X was easy to guess, while the strategy for the last part I didn't get it until it was explained.

Man the explanation for the third game was long. And there is a new team of nine members, huh? Interesting.
P.s. Still can't stand Nao.

Another good chap. I just want to rip the masks off these officials already.

Seems like the "counter attack" finally starts…I already had quite enough of Kimura being an ass and tricking everybody.
Also
!
Hahaha, that face was lovely. Gave me total Enel vibes.
It's so satisfying to have this bitch have her way for so long, making all these elaborate plans that took into consideration every single detail to give her maximum profit and completely fuck over everybody all the while with the same old smug "can't touch this" face, all for her to have her plans just out of the blue crash around her ears.
So satisfying.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
I mean it's not even a small oversight that would frustrate her, she made a complete fuck-up that turned all her plans to dust. So so satisfying.
I wonder if Abe did something, and they already turned her, or Robes decided to act against her. I wouldn't like this aproach though.
I'm kind of worried about Fukunaga vs Yokoya, he probably got trashed and eliminated.
Kawai was most likely working together with Akiyama all along, while it seems like he was spying for Harimoto's group.
And yeah, I really hope this game finishes soon, so we can see Fukunaga and Yokoya again. I wasn't really that interested in Bid Poker from the start…
It got somewhat interesting after the plottwist, but it was too slow before that.
I also think that Kawai is all the time working for Akiyama.
I kind of believe Akiyama gave his cards away so that all the other players could rank, what Kimura wasn`t able to predict.
By that she now can either buy each slot for a lot of money (to Akiyama) or almost all the players would be able to rank themself.
That screws up her plan…like totally ;)
Kawai is easily working for akiyama. I think Akiyamas plan is to give up his whole hand and give kimura an ultimatum: let the other players get the change cards or he'll somehow prevent her from getting a fifth card.
Chapter's out http://www.mangareader.net/liar-game/165
Finally!
That was very fast of a release, I had gotten used to the every other weak periods.
So what this chapter showed wasnt akiyama releasing his cards to lift up the nonranks as to minimalize benefits for kimura, but rather taking the top from him?
Weird, since those ranked positions only reap a real benefit if you prepare losers for them.
I guess it's Akiyama's plan to win this round, gaining all the money from the losers, while he spends all his moneys for the cards of those losers. This way all the others can pay off their debt and leave the Liar Game.

Just got caught up! :)
Chapter 168 is out.

I liked Harimoto's little speech there.

I liked Harimoto's little speech there.
Not a bad speech, but this change of heart was terribly rushed and unnatural.

Liar Game returns with it`s grand finale.
So glad it continues.
What, finale already? Didn't expect that, since most of the mysterious stuff is still left there to be covered.
Yeah seriously, we've learned next to nothing about the Liar Game itself and the people behind it. Perhaps the Liar Game representatives will be participating themselves this time? Seems like the only way for Akiyama to "take then down." It would be pretty unsatisfying if Yokoya, who has already been defeated at least once, was the final villain to deal with.
! So, Yokoya and Akiyama have completely different numbers. I wonder if this means the latter made a bad choice, given that Yokoya "knows everything" now.
! I thought the two of them taking the high and the low to start stood out as a key tactic, but then Akiyama stayed at 19 while Yokoya went to 3 so no idea what's going on there.
Finally the Human-auction is done!! I'm really looking forward to the next game they will play.
I still have yet to continue past the 3rd game in this series. Akiyama's unfallable intellect and always being one step ahead is starting to wear on my nerves so much. 0__0
and it sucks cuz I loved the idea of this series.
I've recently started reading it and I'm enjoying it, but it infuriates me to no end just how brainless Nao is

You should still continue reading on despite that. I was also annoyed about that. Every start of the game she'll say something like "I know a foolproof way to win the game" but actually is full of holes and a little bit idiotic idea.
I'm reading this because of Akiyama <3 xD
There were some tedious chapters, but as we approach the finale, I think you'll be hard pressed to say it wasn't great overall.
So, supposedly this is the final chapter:
http://mangafox.me/manga/liar_game/v16/c201/1.html
Did I miss something? Are they setting up a sequel? Pretty meh chapter overall
Almost satisfactory…
I am not entirely certain what this was all about.
The intricate twist with the book that shows the whole plot of the manga in a quite a different light is almost enough redeem the lacking last arc. However, the way it is pulled is so extremely abrupt that does not leave any room for it to breath or have any profound impact on the main cast that we were supposed to care about. And after all of that, come those two last pages which basically make it all null and void unless it was the setup of a sequel to follow.
I think I have some issues with Kaitani doing this. But what exactly, I am not sure.
I really quite liked the ending. Though I don't get why everyone kept their masks on. Also I love that it left it open enough for a sequel.
I would have wished for a bit more action/talking from Akiyama, but it was a decent enough ending.
Ending it with a youtube-video being deleted sure is something…different :)
Loved this series, even when the final year wasn`t as appealing as some other parts but it was always a manga i was looking for weekly.
Somehow more and more mangas get to their end...damn iam getting old :)
…..is that it!!?????
That was a great series. While the ending and the last challenge wasn't quite on the level of previous ones, I will look back at Liar Game as a great series. And who knows, maybe there really will be a sequel. Certainly an option with that ending.
In hindsight, they should've done a double chapter for the ending. It seemed overly compressed while the explanation about the origins of the director seemed over stretched. I don't get why he'd give a full explanation and not reveal his own face. Also why wouldn't they reveal the tyrant nation?
Was Liar Game caught up in the controversy whereby a bunch of anime and manga were accused of trying to create a political uprising last year?
I didn't think it after chapter 200 but the way this all wrapped up was very satisfactory to me. I agree that the final game was weaker which is unfortunate but overall a great read.
It is announced that Kaitani Shinobu (author of this series) going to start new series, about mah-jong, on Issue 4/5 of Shounen Magazine.

I'm a sucker for Mahjong manga. I look forward to it :)
